StickFig Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Ahhh, ok, your way actually does make a lot of sense. Quote
Sandy Posted July 5, 2014 Author Posted July 5, 2014 Am I correct in saying Nanny's Lullaby works like the Diege of the Phoenix: Since it continues to be sung, all enemies will stay asleep, even if they wake? (Same way the Dirge keeps all the heroes standing up at 1 HP.) No. The description says it makes all enemies fall asleep instantly. If the sleeping enemies get attacked, they awaken, just like with normal asleep-effect. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Hey, I am writing a short story set in a fantasy world, just wondering, can I use my heroica characters? I won't use anything else from the game without asking, but I jut wanted to know... Quote
K-Nut Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Hey, I am writing a short story set in a fantasy world, just wondering, can I use my heroica characters? I'm sure you can. The character is your own creation, after all. Just it's set in this world Sandy created. Quote

Actaeon Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Can someone host a quest and participate in a different quest at the same time? Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Can someone host a quest and participate in a different quest at the same time? Depending on how much time you've got on your hands, yes. Quote
Actaeon Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Depending on how much time you've got on your hands, yes. Ah okay. I suspect I probably won't have that much time at least until next summer. I can start planning for it pretty much any time though Quote

Sandy Posted July 8, 2014 Author Posted July 8, 2014 Cool. Thanks a lot, I'll post here if I want to use any elements from the game. No, you really shouldn't. It has nothing to do with the rules, nor does it really concern anyone else except you. Quote
Quarryman Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 One thing I'm wondering about (even though I have a feeling I know what the answer will be..), Johon has an item called "Hide of the Bleeding", dropped in quest #48 if I remember correctly. Its description there was that the user regains 10HP and 5 ether for every enemy killed by the user. What is the definition of "killed by the user" in cases like this? Does killed by a necromancer's undead qualify? Quote
Endgame Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I'd have to say "yes" as the creator of the hide, but ultimately I think it'd be down to Sandy. Quote

Does killed by a necromancer's undead qualify? I'd narrow it down to kills made by the wearer him/herself, as the description says, so there would be no confusion. Usually the best thing in these cases is to take descriptions literally. Quote
Flipz Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Something that hasn't come up but might later on: since elemental damage bypasses Sentinel, if a Knight is Knocked Out while Sentinel is up, does that mean Sentinel goes down for the rest of the Round? Quote

Wait, since when does elemental damage bypass Sentinal?Edit: I see in the rules it's "Physical Damage" but has anyone actually ever run it this way? My understanding is that it always blocked all damage and that the physical vs. magical is only a recent distinction that wasn't taken into account when the rules were first written. JimBee Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Wait, since when does elemental damage bypass Sentinal? Only if it's Special Damage - Sentinel only protects against physical attacks, but that may or may not include physical elemental attacks. If the Knight is KO'd, Sentinel would no longer be in effect. Quote
Flipz Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Wait, since when does elemental damage bypass Sentinal? Battles: Q: How does a knight's "Sentinel" or a paladin's "Guardian Angel" work, exactly? A: Yes, those "SHIELD"-skills protect the whole party from all physical damage caused by an attack (and in "Guardian Angel's" case, all elemental damage and negative effects as well), no matter who the attacker is. This doesn't include internal damage, though, like poisoning. Also, "Guardian Angel" does not remove existing effects. The skills do not protect from special skills that do not deal direct damage or negative effects, either. That heavily implies that Sentinel does not protect against elemental damage. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I see, perhaps it has to do with the infrequency of elemental damage. I'd agree with JimB though, no matter Sentinal or Guardian Angel both disappear if the PC is knocked out mid round. Quote

Yes, Sentinel is disabled if the knight gets knocked out mid-round. Wait, since when does elemental damage bypass Sentinal? Edit: I see in the rules it's "Physical Damage" but has anyone actually ever run it this way? My understanding is that it always blocked all damage and that the physical vs. magical is only a recent distinction that wasn't taken into account when the rules were first written. Palathadric Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 (edited) Kintobor with all the rule changes regarding ether recently I cannot be sure, but I'm pretty sure that when cleric's fail in their healing it still doesn't cost ether. Edited July 16, 2014 by Palathadric Quote
Flipz Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Just so I'm clear, if a Sage has no gem they can only heal and their SHIELD only causes healing, not damage, right? Quote
Sandy Posted July 19, 2014 Author Posted July 19, 2014 Kintobor with all the rule changes regarding ether recently I cannot be sure, but I'm pretty sure that when cleric's fail in their healing it still doesn't cost ether. That's right, ether is only reduced by successful healing and spellcasting. Scrolls work differently, with ether always reduced no matter the outcome. Just so I'm clear, if a Sage has no gem they can only heal and their SHIELD only causes healing, not damage, right? Yes, Sage's cannot attack directly with their weapons at all. Quote
Flipz Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Does the Sage SHIELD still cost 2 Ether without a gem? Quote
