Brickdoctor Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Usually when building MOCs, the exact precise numbers don't matter as much because of how distorted minifig proportions are and because of compromises that have to be made when working with LEGO bricks, so if an MOC requires properly scaled reference material, most builders round it off to six feet or two meters as a minifig's height just because it's easier. JimBee Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 So Vindsval has no orc blood in him at all? It's fine if he doesn't, but his appearance would suggest otherwise. Just curious. He's certainly a lot different than our other resident half-giant, Thormanil. Quote

Flipz Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Pretty sure Thormy's race is a Wizards of Waverly Place reference. Quote
Asphalt Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Maybe his dad had a little orc in him back on his mother's side. He was a very large hairy druid. But you know, his dad didn't like to talk about it. Quote
Asphalt Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 The more I read, the more I find references to paladins as pretty much being racist pricks. Is this a tried and true story element or just the result of the way a few qm/players have run them? And in continuation of the half giant conversation I do think I will go with hobgoblin or ogre for the other half of his parentage. If I am going to use that fig, I do need to account for the skin and ears. Quote

Is this a tried and true story element or just the result of the way a few qm/players have run them? A little of both I think. The orcs wiped out the kingdom where the paladins originated in the Orcish Invasion of Ennon. The survivors restarted the order with enclaves on Eubric and Moone. There was always friction between Baltarok and the High Kingdoms but the Invasion solidified the hatred, paladins in particular. I think it really started become evident in Quest 16 where the paladins were properly introduced. Quests 49, 89, and 90 all kind of add to it as well. Quote

One of those would probably be more accurate to the game races as done so far, but you don't have to feel forced to change it if you don't want to. Quote

Like the whole Elves vs. Dwarves thing. Quote

It also lends more to him being shunned by both parent's societies. And why he was drawn to The Gray Wanderer. Edited August 31, 2014 by Asphalt Quote
Captain Settle Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Is there any rule on how many quests you have to go on before you can host one? I don't plan on hosting any time soon, but I have an idea for a quest for a lower level party, almost like an introductory quest. Quote

I hosted my first quest after participating in my first quest. Quote
Captain Settle Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 (edited) OK, thanks. I guess I'll start working on my quest soon, but it'll be on the back burner as there's no real rush. Edited September 1, 2014 by Captain Settle Quote
Flipz Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Pie, I don't think you can do anything at all to Fervent; your attacks are inherently Light- or Darkness-elemental as a Regulator, and he's immune to both. The best you could do would be to halve his health with a SHIELD, and that's really not worth the risk of damage or Specials. Quote

Asphalt Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 If healing potions harm the undead, what would a Phoenix essence do? Quote
Emjajoas Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 If healing potions harm the undead, what would a Phoenix essence do? It instantly kills them unless they're immune to instant kill, I believe. Quote
Asphalt Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 (edited) Son of a monkey, should have gone that route. But there will probably be more later on if we live through this one. Edited September 2, 2014 by Asphalt Quote

Flipz Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Can someone refresh my memory about dual-type Ethereal enemies? Do they take double damage from the dual-type (i.e. an Ethereal/Fiery would take 2x from Water) or just normal damage (Ethereal/Fiery would take 1x damage from Water)? Quote

Flipz Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 RE: Stick man's question in 102 (sorry, quoting is a pain on mobile): Nerwen already has +1 Hinckwell rep from another Quest; by taking another +1 Hinckwell and then +1 Shadeaux, she ends up with a total of +1 to both, meaning Nerwen would only need one more from either one to unlock the or Expert Class.
