xwingyoda Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 I was so excited at that pic that I had to Frontpage this asap :-P Wow, when TLC decides to make a great set, its just a thing of beauty *wub* Probably the best looking set so far (yes even in front of SW *wacko* looool) !! Look at the details on the building itself and I am so happy to see some real lively town scenes *wub* The "gar Quote
Starwars4J Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Egad!!! I have to buy that set!! It's sooo beautiful!!!Looks like LEGO is doing well! Any details about the price yet? Mr Tiber I think it was speculated earlier in the topic to be about 140 euro Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 The cafe corner is definitely worth the money considering it has alot more bricks that the standard 60-70euro town sets. I just worry that shops may not stock these sets so much. Quote
Vader Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Probably the best looking set so far (yes even in front of SW *wacko* looool) !! Hold your head in shame >:-( How dare you say such a thing!........ :-P ;-) What can we learn from this ? That the Eiffel Tower should be as beautifull and there is a slight hope of having a decent looking AT-AT :-D *yoda* I hope that the Tower looks as lovely as this set as it would make an excellent combination, can you imagine having the two on display 8- Quote
Hobbes Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Hold your head in shame >:-( How dare you say such a thing!........ :-P ;-) Because it's the truth, and nothing but the truth :-P That is a truly magnificent set from the looks of it. And 2056 pieces does sound like a decent build with lots of details not just a "false front". I'm still catching my breath... :'-) Quote
Vader Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Because it's the truth, and nothing but the truth :-P Note to self remove Hobbes from christmas card list. :-P That is a truly magnificent set from the looks of it. And 2056 pieces does sound like a decent build with lots of details not just a "false front".I'm still catching my breath... :'-) Its a real shame that theirs no picks of the back of the set yet, it would truly be amazing if this thing had more to it than what weve seen so far. ReZourceman Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Now...Im not a town man...but... ####!!!! NICE! Quote
Sir von Lego Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 It is really a nice Set, the best city set ever. And as someone said before: female minifigs!!! Lego finally heard my shouting..(-; The only thing the should have done better are the small (too small) windows in the middle of the building. I hope that it will sell fantastic and we will see perhaps more buildings in the future.. Hendrik *vader* Quote
SirNadroj Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 *wub* *wub* *wub* *wub* *wub* Beautiful!!!!! *wub* *wub* *wub* *wub* All Lego needs to do now is incorporate the word "system" after the logo and have a small tiriangle in the top right hand corner with the theme's name!!!! Overall- yes a little pricey, but exactly what we (or I at least) have been waiting for. It is sort of funny that everyone complains about the big, <insert that tiresome argument> peices and when lego turns around everyone complains about the prices now. Oh well - I am just dying to see the eiffel tower - if lego is going to make the tallest, man-made structure in the world it better be big and tall. I also noticed that the cafe "CORNER" is on a cornr- some other buildings to attach to the cafe would be nice- kind of like a little, expensive european town! Wow! Quote
Robiwan Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 *wub* *wub* *wub* I am missing the words! For this I must plan a place when I rebuild my town!!! Quote
simonwillems Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 This is wonderful!! Best city set in many, many years!! *wub* *wub* I hope this is not some kind of Shop at Home exclusive or something.... I'll buy this one. :-) Quote
blueandwhite Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Wow, and just... WOW *wub* !!! LEGO, your driving the fandom into bankruptcy. The sheer level of detail on that baby is insane! I'm utterly humbled by the awesomeness of this thing... And at the same time disappointed. I've already got a Falcon on order. I really can't justify dropping any more $$$ on non-castle related sets. Seeing all the awesome stuff you Star Wars and Town folk get makes me a bit jealous. I do hope that LEGO does something like this for castle-heads in the future. Right now we sit and watch as you end up with all of these amazing sets. Also, does anybody have any info on the mystery set? Given the poll LEGO conducted recently (the one about modular town buildings and large-scale vehicles), I'm expecting the final set to be a large-scale licenced vehicle of some sort. LEGO is really going all out this year. The only question is, can the fans support this kind of love, or is it just too expensive? I hope this is a success, because I'd really like to see more sets like this in the futre. Quote
MShiels Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Female mini-figs even!! WOW 2007 was looking kinda sparse for female mini-figs!! And to set records straight, at least here in USA/CAnada, it's a LEGO Store only, Shop@home only item. Not available through standard dealers. Unknown if TRU/Target get any access or not yet. Europe is always a bit different, I know in Germany everyone gets pretty well everything. Quote
phoinix Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 amazing! when lego decides to give us a good set they give a GOOD set!! deffinetly will be getting one!! (if one of you gentlemen will help me get one since i cant shop from S@H) lovely!amazing!great detail! great coloring! i will have to agree with yoda on the bike color..i would rather a green one!! hope for more pictures soon! i need closeups!! Holodoc Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Wooooha! *wub* This IS good news. Although I wanted to buy 1-3 of the new Creator houses, I Quote
jindroush Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 The only real downside of the set is that it's empty inside (despite the fact that the floors can be separated). The thing above front door is http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/6120 Quote
5150 Lego Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Notbad. Very impressive. I can picture alot of posibilites with this. This gives the new fire engines somthing to be dispatched to, and eventhe XXLmobile crane a bujilding to work on. Any word if this will have an intereior? I'm guessing so since the building stroies are removable. Quote

I also noticed that the cafe "CORNER" is on a cornr- some other buildings to attach to the cafe would be nice- kind of like a little, expensive european town! Wow! What about the Warsaw Radio Mast or the CN Tower? The Eiffel Tower doesn't crack the top 10. The Warsaw Radio Mast was the world's tallest supported structure, whereas the CN Tower is the world's largest freestanding structure. Still, the Eiffel tower should be awesome! Considering the fact that its structure is predominantly hollow, those 3000+ bricks should go a long way! I expect something in the whereabouts of 150cm in height. Anything less and I am thuroughly disappointed :-D . Quote

rexcal Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 This really could be the best LEGO set ever made... I'm really looking forward to this Corner Cafe set, the first pictures fulfilled my high expectations! *sweet* 8- Quote

dr01d3k4 Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 i searched www.brickset.com for pictures and more info, but there is only two that are real :-( :'-( >:-( , the falcon, of course :-D and the train set. if there is a eiffel tower set, i think it would probably have a techinic frame and hopefully it is a minifig scale set, (fingers crossed). Shakar Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 This is...beutiful. Sucks that it costs 140 Euro. Truly amazing...I'm missing words. Shakar Quote
