Zib Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 Long story made short: what if Evo (in is Breakout incarnation) returning from a mission is taken over by a brain? I started the design from the standard Evo modifing and building up, trying to create it as a real HF set (so yes, as a sticky figure :) ). It uses only pieces from HF (2.0 up), the body is a standard HP torso ad uses a build technic similar to Toxic Reapa. The playability is good. Infernum Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 Looks cool! Only thing I don't like is the two detail pieces on the gun, they make it look too bulky. Nice work! Quote
Dorek Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 (edited) Very cool incorporation of the brain slug, I love his it's recessed into the armor and just watches out. I'd have made the crotchplate (how many times have I had to use that word since this contest began? Probably too many) yellow instead of gunmetal, it distracts from the otherwise great visual symmetry (or asymmetry, as it is) and color consistency. The tank arm is very cool, and even the Hero Core doesn't look too out of place, though I feel like this is one time the white core might not have gone amiss. The gun is very cool, and I love that (with a bit of tweaking) both of the new HF launcher pieces can be used. I'd love to see this design using parts from the summer line, mostly changing the color scheme to be the blue that his new incarnation uses... and maybe his new helmet, too. Evo is a signature character and has to be recognizable even if mutated. Exagerating the weapon (present in the original model) bulk was one of the trick to give the idea of radical mutation without losing the overall design. I used a 2.0/3.0 core for the color, to give the idea of an infected core. From a figure design perspective the withe one was better. I'd love to see this design using parts from the summer line, mostly changing the color scheme to be the blue that his new incarnation uses... and maybe his new helmet, too. The summer serie hasn't been released here, maybe august. Maybe I will give it a try in the future. :) Quote
xxlrocka Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Evo the Minotaur, ready for fighting his fellow heroes and looking like a decent MOC! Could use some improvements on the torso, and change the hero core to a newer one. Quote

Could use some improvements on the torso, and change the hero core to a newer one. Uhm, no. I'm satisfied with the torso. It was the best solution to integrate the brain. And I wanted to keep the pieces count low, as would in a real set. For the hero core, as already said, I used the old one because there is no new core in green... :) Quote
