Posted July 7, 201311 yr OK to top off this weekends MOC rounds, next up are the Volkswagens. There's no town in the world where you can't find one I think. All logo's have been engraved, some white electric tape is used to make the splitted front window. First up is the affordable classic, the 1960's beetle: Next up is the T1 pick-up, or Bulli as it is sometimes called: It is owned by the CMF plummer, the back cargo was inspired by Misterzumbi's. I might still change the front and add some stickers, but it'll do for now. Next up is the T2 van. Ever since I got the CMF hippie he's been nagging me about a van. I made him a brand new one, but look what he did to it: Of course the T1 van can't miss out, it is a surfers dream: I think it still needs some different wheels, but oh well... And whilst we are talking surfer cars, why not add the rusty old 2CV to this batch? It is mostly based on Hoexbroe's with some small changes: Well that's it for this weekend, I hope you enjoy them!
July 7, 201311 yr Wow, love them all! Especially the T1 Pick-up and T1 van! Great job! Nice colorthemes!
July 7, 201311 yr Excellent cars! I especially like the beetle. It is definatly recognizable, and uses some good ideas. (I especially like the piece you used for the back; hood for the motor) Still It has many gaps. -But you certainly have inspired me. I will se if I can work something out based on yours... The colours used on the hippie-van is spectacular! Thanks for the mention on the 2CV!!! Edited July 7, 201311 yr by Hoexbroe
July 7, 201311 yr Fantastic builds CRH! Love them all, especially the navy blue and yellow. Those are my state's colors
July 7, 201311 yr These are great cars. The like the details from the plumbers van, but the rusty old 2CV is my favorite.
July 7, 201311 yr Really really nice work. My fav would have to be the T1 Pickup but they are all great and I might just have to pinch a few designs for an up coming MOC. Thanks for sharing.
July 7, 201311 yr Great batch of Volkswagon models! You captured the curvy shape of the bug very well and I like how you gave the truck and van to CMFs then customized the vehicles to fit them
July 7, 201311 yr AWESOME VW collection 'CRH'......the Kombi's are just the bomb ! Brick On Drive On 'CRH' !
July 7, 201311 yr Very nice, I love them all but particulary the hippy van, looks a lot better than mine (which you may have seen last year ago at Brickmania Wetteren). Edited July 7, 201311 yr by Sebeus I
July 7, 201311 yr The blue Kombi is just gorgeous - great colour blocking and SNOT windows. Is the VW logo an engraved tile? Where did it come from?
July 7, 201311 yr These are fantastic! I think the T1 is my favorite - although that Bulli is really well done.
July 8, 201311 yr Good Lord. Those are so awesome! (If only I could get my hands on one....) Edited July 8, 201311 yr by ManInATopHat
July 8, 201311 yr I love what the hippy did to the brand new VW. Specially, the flowers on the wheels. Also, the Beetle and T1 look fantastic. It's not easy to make a small car with many details, yet you managed to make realistic cars with recognizable details. Congratulations on these lovely models.
July 8, 201311 yr You nailed the iconic shape of a VW Beetle. One thing to note is the beetle only has one side mirror on the driver side and the bumpers resemble a 1968 and later model. The T-1 Pick Up and the T-1 11 window are outstanding as well. -Dutch
July 8, 201311 yr Wow, amazing set of cars I love the classic beetle and the hippie van and the T1 Van, but they're all great I love that they have stories with your CMF too! Great job and happy building!
July 8, 201311 yr Brilliant designs. Very shapely and iconic. I love the Beetle and the T1 the most. I know very little about VW, but these look great. I may have to "borrow" the ideas for my own versions. Thanks for sharing!
July 9, 201311 yr They're all great, but the beetle is surely one of the best I have seen at this scale!
July 9, 201311 yr All the cars are really outstanding but the beetle is one of the most original I have ever seen. It's amazing how you managed to get all those curved shapes into such a small model.
