Jim Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 I might have been drowned in information. Do we currently have a schedule for Saturday? I would like to know the Saturday schedule as well. We are contemplating driving home Saturday night/evening because of one of my travelers has a pregnant wife and two kids at home. So it would be easy for him to be home by Sunday morning. Quote
Redhead1982 Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I have a question for the more experiences visitors of Billund LL.How much do the bulk bricks cost in the park? I know in Germany the price can be fair for some types of bricks, but not all. According to Brickbuildr the parts selection seems smaller than in Gunzburg, but I'd still like to be prepared if there were some interesting new parts available. Has anyone been there recently? Quote
Holodoc Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 From what I saw in the last years, you hardly get any interesting bricks there. It's a lot standard components. The variety is - like you already know - a lot smaller compared to the Fabrik in LL Germany. I don'r recall anything about the price though (it was never interesting for me...) Quote
Morten Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 The Price in PAB is 80 dKr / 100 grams, that is around 107 Euros / kg, so that is just to expensive in my opinion. Morten Quote
Redhead1982 Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Thanks for this info. The Price in PAB is 80 dKr / 100 grams, that is around 107 Euros / kg, so that is just to expensive in my opinion. You're right about the too expensive. I was expecting a higher price than in Germany. From what I saw in the last years, you hardly get any interesting bricks there. It's a lot standard components. The variety is - like you already know - a lot smaller compared to the Fabrik in LL Germany. This leaves more money to buy some extra sets. Quote

Legogal Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Hope that ISC's bags arrive soon! In a tune up for Billund, I checked out LL Windsor today. Very nice Miniland with the new area opened. And the old buildings did not bother me much except for a few crooked builds that reminded me of earthquake or melted permafrost damage, which must be common in Sweden like in Alaska, heh? And face it, many of the buildings in Europe ARE very old, so I don't expect new looking bricks. Bought nothing there except for a sandwich I threw out. Definitely the worst food of the five Legolands I have visited. Found an inexpensive (with no service) restaurant (The Carvery) at my bus stop for a big, tasty dinner for 7gbp or 13us. The deal of the day for sure. They need to open one of these places at LL Windsor or replicate the menu from LL Gunzburg. (Take your own food for sure!) I sincerely hope that somebody is getting some sleep before all hell breaks out in Billund! Quote

Holodoc Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 I had a second look at the weather forecast: Don't expect temperatures above 16°C, it is going to be partly cloudy and sunny with a slight chance of rain every day. I think we can leave the suncream at home. But does that bother? No. Quote
CopMike Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Your purpose - my question: 0101 ? What 0101? It´s 1010 of course ! Quote
Ecclesiastes Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 But does that bother? No. No, because I actually prefer colder weather Quote
Cwetqo Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 I dont mind if its cold, but rain could be very annoying. Quote

Quarryman Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Do you have any other kind of weather than cold in Norway? Sure, we have slightly chilly, chilly, cold, colder, very cold, very very cold, and insanely cold. Much variation. And now I've taken over the wandering Australian, but I think we wore him out with the sightseeing, he was almost asleep when we got here. Quote

Legogal Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Has anyone noticed a too high charge on their credit card for the lunch and Lego House kits at Restaurant Billund across from the Lego House? Just checked my statement and they charged 361.US for ten of the Lego House sets (should be about 27US each leaving a whopping 91.12US charge for that light lunch, which I was expecting to pay about 25US for. So it looks like the charge is more than 60US than it should be if you figure 270. for the sets and 25. for lunch. Did anyone else notice a charge for lunch that was too high? It was a nice lunch, but not a 90US lunch. Thanks for checking! Quote
Holodoc Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 I checked my bills and it looks like everything was perfect for Billund Restaurant. Still the other restaurant's bills are Quote
Cwetqo Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 I paid around 47 euro (354dkk) for 1 lego house, 2x pizza and drinks which is exactly as it shoud be. There might be some additional charges for non-eur credit cards (I read something about that in Huw's description of Insider Tour). I found this: "Major international credit and debit cards are widely accepted in Denmark. Please note, however, that taxis, hotels, restaurants, shops, petrol stations etc. are permitted - but not obliged - to charge a fee when payment is made by a foreign payment card (credit & debit cards). If it is company policy to charge such a fee, the company must make its customers aware of this, for instance by displaying a notice at the hotel reception or in the hotel room, on a restaurant menu, or by the entrance. Businesses are permitted to charge up to the equivalent of the percentage amount they are charged by the card issuing company, usually up to 3.75%, although this may vary. " Its still not 70 dollars thought, so I dont know... Did you count in price of drinks? Ours was almost as much as the food. Quote
Legogal Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Figured out my Billund restaurant bill. I brought back a dozen (not ten) LEGO Houses, and six are already delivered to friends, who really appreciate getting one at cost. It is a great little set! Glad it was available while we were there. Can't wait to see the real LEGO House in two years. The only other set I brought back that is built is the yellow castle with the two white horses resting quietly at the moment on a full 48 by 48 gray baseplate. Were we supposed to get two horses? Hmmmmmmm... Time for an invasion by a swarm of Friends gals, who may hold their monthly book club soiree in The Castle. Fun, fun fun! Quote
