September 29, 20159 yr Firehouse isn't 'replacing' the modular; the latter will still be released and will serve as a place to save your money. Oh great, we're getting an old sock under a mattress? About the flying thing, I immediately had to think about the floating pool on top of that giant hotel in Singapore for some reason. Edited September 29, 20159 yr by Humdrum
September 29, 20159 yr As for the new landmark, if "You can fly" as the clue, my guess is going to be Big Ben. Peter Pan flew past this famous landmark on his way to Neverland as the song by the same name was being played. If this is true, I might just have to get that one. Hehe, I promptly went googling movie quotes in hopes of finding what "imagine you can fly" means, I came across peter pan, but simply don't know enough about the story to affiliate it to any building.
September 30, 20159 yr So, to summarise; Ghostbusters Headquarters A corner modular bank Big Ben I'm very much looking forward to 2016 now. And my wallet will hate me.
September 30, 20159 yr So, to summarise; Ghostbusters Headquarters A corner modular bank Big Ben I'm very much looking forward to 2016 now. And my wallet will hate me. Wait, Big Ben? Bank? Where..?
September 30, 20159 yr If the rumors are true and we are getting a bank, a grand banking building along the lines of say 55 Wall Street (aka the National City Bank Building) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/55_Wall_Street or the First National Bank of the United states https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Bank_of_the_United_States would be awesome to see. Modulars tend towards older architectural styles anyway so something in that kind of style (which is quite often associated with big banks) would work well. And a corner modular with classical style columns would be a great source of the grooved column bricks :)
September 30, 20159 yr I'd be pretty happy with a corner Bank. I think it's a needed "main street" service and it will also enable Lego to easily build a "story" if they continue with that aspect of marketing the Modulars. I'd also be very happy if the rumoured Ghostbusters Headquarters was compatible with the Modulars (or could be easily modded to be compatible).
September 30, 20159 yr Wait, Big Ben? Bank? Where..? there was a discussion and rumors on this on the previous page
September 30, 20159 yr A bank and a post office are the most obvious "omissions", in my opinion. Personally, I was hoping for a post office, but a bank has a lot of potential as well. No matter how much I like the variation in the line, after the Parisian Restaurant and the Detective's Office, I think we're all due for a "grander" modular again. I could see the new brick with scroll piece featuring prominently in a possible bank modular.
September 30, 20159 yr A bank as a new modular will do... ..and hopefully it is a somewhat bigger building..maybe 48 studs wide??
September 30, 20159 yr A bank as a new modular will do... ..and hopefully it is a somewhat bigger building..maybe 48 studs wide?? They would do it in 24 studs and leave modification part to consumer. 48 stud wide modular format has to include 5000+ pieces iin order to match height and depth, which is not feasible for market. Having done a MOC on a 24x36 base myself , it had more than 3500 pieces which does not include interior.

September 30, 20159 yr Wish they had done 48 wide modular but even 4000 piece count is too much for a modular set. It would have been OK for a Sculpture or Landmark. We are talking about an official set with complete interior, that's why i said it has to include 5000+ pieces for the width.
September 30, 20159 yr I believe this rumor... a bank makes sense when you consider the new pieces we saw on the Friends hotel could be used for a greek-revival type design.
September 30, 20159 yr Planned dates are: january 1st - landmark set (220€) april 1st - modular Building (150€) july 1st - new IP action theme (Ghostbusters) - (350€)
September 30, 20159 yr I'm hoping for just a 32x32 corner building. A wider one could be cool down the line, but it would be a misstep this year, since we're already getting the much larger Ghostbusters HQ. A bank would be great--and I agree, it will probably be larger than the last couple modulars (and I've truly enjoyed the Detective's Office, but I'm all for another bigger modular).
September 30, 20159 yr Not sure how this went so awry...let's just say there is a new modular, new landmark and the Ghostbusters HQ until we find out exactly what the modular and landmark are going to be. I am good with a bank and who knows about Big Ben/Elizabeth Tower (which I guess is the new name of the tower to honor Elizabeth's reign). I am guessing if they do this tower, they are not going to include the palace of Westminster which runs to the side of it. I also thought the GBHQ date was Jan 1 based on the published info about it on facebook. This would push the modular and landmark to later in the year. Jan 1 GBHQ April 1 (est) Modular July 1 or Aug 1 Landmark This is my timeline guess.

September 30, 20159 yr Im late to the game. What is a landmark set Past ones were Sydney Opera house, tower bridge, etc
September 30, 20159 yr Thank you. Namioik A cool land mark would be the Grand Canyon or Vectoria Falls Edited September 30, 20159 yr by lanesteele240
September 30, 20159 yr It's highly unlikely the baseplate size will change, especially for a bank. I would really love a corner building with a round tower roof, like this or this but not sure that's suitable for a bank which usually has a huge entrance door. Neo-Greek style is possible, but tricky for a corner.
September 30, 20159 yr The second link is no good but the building in the first one is quite beautiful!
