Could turn out to be another great Sunday. From the descriptions I personally don't have a clear picture of the set in my head, so I'm really looking forward to seeing the actual pictures.

Btw, the money laundry idea is brilliant if it is really in the set.

At least the money laundry makes sense, the cookie caper is confusing unless you watch the video of the builder explaining it. Can't wait for the reveal.

If the modular is anywhere near as good as the Detective's Office, count me in on a purchase (although I will wait for it to appear locally and on sale as I did with the Detective's Office)

Not what I was expecting. Very interested to see more. The laundromat sign is superb and there are a lot of very interesting, unusual little pieces to make up the detail on the exterior. Looks like it will be ages at build. Initial impressions are I love it

Yeah two story like the palace cinema which is another corner building. What's above the laundromat ?

Probably the apartment.

I love the (hopefully) printed check the girl is holding.

Also - bank's windows look interesting.

Hmmmmm, it does look small, not at all grand enough for a bank, and I'm very much undecided about the green window surrounds... but I'll wait until there's more images of the set before I make a more informed decision... Right now though, I'd rather buy a second pet shop...

Ohhh... There are a lot of interesting building techniques and details in the architecture. But it does not really draw me towards it like e.g. GE and PR did. And I am not sure about the green colour of the windows. Green could work, but not in that tone, I think. - But maybe the building will grow on me...

Initial thoughts:

- That's a small bank. How is there space for a vault and counters etc?

- Those windows are hideous. Why are they green? Doesn't quite match the rest of the building's colours

- The string looks like a setup for a robbery. Perhaps the laundromat will be where money's hidden, or the robbers' escape route

- Looks like I'll have trouble getting my hands into the model again

- Cute minifigs. And love that massive cheque!

- I suspect there will be a story in there somewhere....

Will reserve proper judgment till more pictures are released. But at the moment it just feels slightly underwhelming. And small. Where is the majesty/austerity of a proper bank?

That's where the money laundering happens.

I don't like it. :sceptic: This is the first modular I really don't like. I'll get it nonetheless, but I will have to do some major changes to the facade - those windows will have to be changed to some other color, and the top floor's facade will have to be redone, it's too lazy as it is.

My sentiments exactly. The completionist in me wants it, but the rest of me don't, just like how I felt with the Pet Shop. I'll probably get it anyway, but I'll keep my fingers crossed that Big Ben is done better.

I think the green in this image is too strong - look at the green torso and the money. So the windows should indeed be sand green in reality, and that's okay in my opinion.

Other than that, well, a bit small, but that kinda was to be expected. Will just add another floor..

those windows will have to be changed to some other color,

The image has to be color corrected. Currently the saturation is way too high. Once colors are adjusted to correct levels, the sand green windows look much better.

I'm torn about this one.

  • I like the bottom half
  • The top half is ok I guess, but not thrilled about the window colour
  • I'm disappointed to see a laundrette. To me that doesn't fit in the time-period of the other 1930s-ish modulars. My plan is to have that round the corner on the side you wouldn't see on my display
  • They don't seem to be supplying any bank robber figures, so perhaps there isn't as much of a story/play features
  • On the other hand, the rope, hook and air vent look ideal for robbers
  • It looks like it may be missing the back-left corner, so that it is an L shape rather than a square

Girl looks like she won a contest that check's so huge!

I like the bank part, but the Laundromat/Apartment? I hope it looks better straight on.

If it's a Chinese laundromat, it will fit the 1930's vibe just fine.

Indeed, I did it and it looks much better. I think the best part is the bottom floor. Not sure about the apartment's colour above the apartment, too many colours on second floor, IMO (green, red, brown, tan, etc) . Let's wait for some more and better pics.
