wesker Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 A police station, library, hospital and museum would all be welcome additions to the modular line. I'd be happy if the next set was any one of those. Quote
BrickFit26 Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 I'd be happy with those too. I kind of also want to see a bakery if they go with a business route. Quote
Jockos Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 I really hope they bring back the old modular buildings! Anyway, will they produce even more if the block of these houses is closed? Quote
sebitsena Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 Only Lego has the answer ... If modulars sales are good i think they will continue. Regarding licensed sets, modulars are one of the last classic great buildings. I hope Lego will keep the modulars and creator expert line in their ranges. Quote
AnnaBuildsLego Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 (edited) I was under the impression that the Modular series is one of Lego's most successful ventures, especially with AFOL's - at least, they always seem to be featured on Lego's list of top-sellers on Shop@Home. So I wouldn't worry at all - Lego will continue making these buildings for as long as they are profitable. Edited June 27, 2016 by AnnaBuildsLego Quote
TheLegoDr Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 I would think at the very least you could start a new block with new buildings OR just make your city blocks even bigger with more non-corner buildings. Either way, not very many people have the space to actually build a full square block, so I don't think that is too much of a worry from TLG's standpoint. If they sell, they will make them. It is a new tradition, so to speak, like the winter village line. Or UCS from star wars. Quote
paupadros Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Anyone know anything? I don't know, I'm pretty sure there were rumours for Brick Bank this time last year... Quote
tafkatb Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 No, rumors for the bank didn't turn up until late September last year, shortly before the official reveal. Quote
talos Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 I'd like to see a police station with a vehicle. Quote
BrickFit26 Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 I really hope they do continue, i want to see a taller modular. Quote

antp Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 I'd like to see a police station with a vehicle. As long as the vehicle is better than the one coming with the Palace Cinema... Quote
Humdrum Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 All this talk about a hospital made me think of the classic videogame Theme Hospital. I'd love to see Lego make matching minifigs of the patients with the funny diseases. Minifigs with bloaty head, 3rd degree sideburns, spare rib, uncommon cold,... yes please! Quote
Legoboy22 Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 There could be a hospital because of the recent releaae of the hospital plane Quote
Actor Builder Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 There could be a hospital because of the recent releaae of the hospital plane Are you saying then, that there could be a Friends Themed Hot-Dog Restaurant Modular because of the recent releaae of the Friends Hot Dog Vehicle? Or even a Volcano Modular because of the recent releaae of the Volcano Exploration City Subtheme? Or perhaps even a Maze Modular because of the recent releaae of the Ideas Maze? Wow! Quote

There could be a hospital because of the recent releaae of the hospital plane It would be nice to have. Though I don't know it it would be a full hospital. I kind of picture them making like a private clinic type modular set. Quote

sebitsena Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Lots of new parts related to the hospital theme have been released : wheelchair with fun in the park set, crutches with clumsy guy... Those added to the existing syringes and medics let us hope a hospital/doctor modular (maybe with an ambulance ^^) Quote
scottwb2010 Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 I too would like to see a modular hospital and have hoped for one for a few years. Im sure they could make it resemble an old styled hospital to fit the era being portrayed by previous modular with 3 stories with a ground, first and second floor incorporating an A&E/ER, op theatre, maternity ward and general ward etc. Also include an old style ambulance similar in style to the Post van in the Winter Village Post Office 10222. Wouldn't really want a library for the reason to much of the part count would probably be taken up by plates and tiles representing books! Quote
AnnaBuildsLego Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 A hospital has been the glaring missing piece of my LEGO city for years now - I missed the last hospital that was out, and it's been something I've really wanted my city to have ever since. I have doctors and stretchers, but the poor patients have had nowhere to be treated for years now. I think some kind of medical establishment is long overdue. A modular hospital would be fantastic - the only problem is that the recent modulars have included some amount of play features or story (for example: the prohibition cookies in the Detective's Office, and the "Money Laundering" joke in the Brick Bank), and I wonder what story could be implemented with a hospital that would still be appropriate. I think with a hospital they would have to include another small business with it. Perhaps a small newsagents or cafe like real hospitals have? Quote
AFOLguy1970 Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 I also think if a modular was to be related to the medical field, it would be a private practice rather than to try and cram a basic hospital into the set. A practice would probably include a waiting room, the records room, and the operating room. I doubt they would try to include another business with the set as so many parts would be needed for the interior to just to set up the basics, unless maybe there was a small pharmacy involved. The trend nowadays is to devote to the storyline by focusing on the interior, thus resulting in a smaller exterior and unfinished backsides (this started with the DO). In order for a practice to be basically the same size and part count as the DO and BB, I would postulate that most of the limited space would have to be used for the three basic rooms in addition to a possible doctor's private office and maybe something like an X-ray room and a recovery/bedroom. A vehicle could be possible, but it would come at the expense of the building. For the storyline, they could possible focus on a minifigure having a baby and include that figure. I am sure the baby minifig is coming in future sets, and surely the next modular could be a consideration. The new wheelchair part also sets up for the possibility of a medical theme set, so I agree that the parts are there. If it is not introduced as a modular, a new hospital City set could be in development. Oh, and you know there is going to be some kind of candy jar or some kind of sweet treat either at the receptionist desk or with the doc. With the next modular, I just hope the building looks good on the outside as I rarely look into the interior. Quote
LegoManTroy Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 I am trying to decide which modular building I should buy next... Quote
Agent 86 Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 I'd love a Modular Hospital. But, with their current focus on interior details (at the expense of the overall size of the building), I'm not sure that would be possible. A doctor's office with an attached pharmacy seems possible. And it would be "close enough" for me. Quote
Lyichir Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 I'd love a Modular Hospital. But, with their current focus on interior details (at the expense of the overall size of the building), I'm not sure that would be possible. A doctor's office with an attached pharmacy seems possible. And it would be "close enough" for me. I wouldn't want a hospital if it skimped on the interior anyway. And even some of the biggest modulars like Green Grocer would be quite small for a hospital. Personally, what I'd find more interesting than an ordinary doctor's office would be a dentist's office[/url]. Ever since childhood I've been mystified by the specialized equipment you see in dentist's offices, and I'd love to see one represented in Lego. Quote
AFOLguy1970 Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 A dental practice could be somewhat similar in layout to a doctor's practice. You could still have a lobby waiting area, a records room with the receptionist, the room with "the chair" and various tools, and then maybe an x-ray area. You do not need an bedroom for patients, so maybe the upstairs could be the dentist's apartment. Maybe the dentist could be in on the whole cookie speakeasy thing introduced in the DO. Cookies would certainly help the dentist's business Then again, knowing that having a storyline is crucial to the modulars, if they make a dental practice with a candy store as part of the structure, I called it.
