Shiva Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 The X-Men Mansion, standalone building. Even when it does have conneting points. Quote
Westbrick Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 The official reveal of the ideas botanical garden looks very nice. I like the GWP, but could live without it. The question is, do I wait for a discount. If anyone in the UK knows, how likely is it to have a discount later next year? (Will it be sold by John Lewis, or other retailers?) I waited to see if the Family Reunion Celebration would get one and almost missed out completely! Quote

I'm not sure if it's an exclusive to lego.com or not, big sets like that rarely go on sale unless it comes to Smyths then you'd have to wait a few months maybe for it to go on sale for a small bit off You can always use VIP Points if you have a good few Amazon Germany has great deals too sometimes, The Notre Dame is 170 euro instead of 230 and the Milky Way is 150 euro instead of 200 Anyone else feel like the Botanical Garden lacks something ? IDK if it's just me but I feel like there isn't enough flowers/trees Looks nice though Edited October 23, 2024 by Lego Nostalgia Quote

PK82 Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 I like the Botanical Garden way more than the Mansion. Integration in a modular setup should be fairly easy. Maybe at the end of a street: Corner Building - Botanical Garden Curved Road Plate - Botanical Garden Quote
Chris10 Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Really not sure what to make of the GWP, given that it doesn’t seem to have anywhere obvious to connect to the main build. For starters the path is a different width to the front and rear paths on the main build, plus it’s also on a normal plate rather than a base plate so won’t be the correct height either. Am I missing something? Quote
Lego Nostalgia Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 When do we think the B&B Modular will be revealed ? December ? Quote

I tell myself one day I will ‘spend’ them but let’s see… I think on the top down photo of the botanical garden, they’ve removed most of the interior/plants. There seems to be enough of them in the other photos. I’ve just seen the ‘books are my passion’ GWP, and that makes me more tempted to bite the bullet for a 1st November purchase if it hasn’t run out! I’ve bought a few of the bigger sets (lighthouse, Modulars, etc.) from John Lewis in the UK as they periodically do 20% off, so it’ll be interesting to know if they’ll be selling this botanical garden. Undi3sss Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Love the Botanical Gardens set, I don’t use the connection pins so it’ll be easy to integrate, but I’ll prioritise the X-Mansion to go with my other Marvel Modulars first. With how crazy expensive Lego is getting; I might just get the Friends Botanical Gardens and make my own modular for cheaper. Other than the Dolls I think the set is better, the cherry blossom and pond are really nice. Quote

Shiva Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 I think it looks great. Sadly I would have, nowhere? to display it, possibly. + it does cost a bit. Quote
Hive Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 The Botanical Gardens look nice, but I'm still somewhat disappointed. I'm not convinced that it looks that much better than 2x the veeeery similar Friends Botanical Gardens. I guess I just expected more. Quote
PK82 Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 (edited) After reading two reviews, I'm sold on the Botanical Garden. May wait a bit and see if price goes down or double VIP, but I've already ordered all necessary parts (road plate with curve and parts for sidewalk) to integrate it in my city. Arjo Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 I had written off the botanical garden on expected price alone. After seeing the finished product though, I am quite tempted. It is a double edge sword in that in my mind’s eye I see it and the museum integrated into an “exhibition road” with a nice park to go with it… would be stunning… for whomever has enough space to pull it out. Not my case so I will probably skip it. TLG will keep cranking sets vying for attention and real estate so the FOMO I experienced a few years back coming out of my dark ages is now gone. It is impossible to keep up and there will always be a next best set to help you forget those you left in the rearview mirror. Oh well. Quote

Lion King Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 Have anyone noticed there were missing banner pieces for Natural History Museum set? I just finished building mine today and I noticed that there are NO banner pieces at all. It surprised me both banners are not there so I went to make a “missing piece” order… Quote

I know it sounds daft, but have you double checked it’s not wedged into the instruction book, or the paper folder somewhere. I’ve had a few times when this was the case. Quote

My sister and i did look through the instruction book nd paper folder. We also searched for them around the room we bbuilt it in. Not sure how they disppeared. She and i assumed those banner pieces might be stowed away among the numbered plastic bags toward the end. Quote

Hmm. I’m trying to remember. I think they were in with the instructions. I’m sure TLG will send a set out. When my wife accidentally binned the half used set of UCS falcon stickers, they sent me them, no bother. Quote
nikhkin Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 It's been a while since I built it, but the banners were packed somewhere "safe" to prevent them from bending. They were either in with the instructions, or in their own cardboard sleeve. Quote
