intimmydation Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 It's a bit smaller than I was expecting from the rumors, but amazing none the less, so much packed into it. Quote
Paperballpark Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 New pieces: 2x2 corner tile with diagonal cutout, in the pavement. 2x2 curved tile! Top of right-hand building 1st floor. 4x4 curved tile! Top of left-hand building ground and 1st floor. strange black large curved piece in the roof of the middle building. Can't see any more, but there might be. So so many details. Quote
Hobbythom Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 Finally a florist and bakery! I like the livelyness of it all. The mini Cafe Corner legi box is a great touch. If this is a fake then I still want it. Quote
Boettner Builds Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 LegoSjaak, when can we expect some photoshopped XL versions?!? ;) Quote

CM4Sci Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 We finally get the corner 1x1 with studs on two sides Quote
Boettner Builds Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 A coffee shop, a florist, a bakery, all with living spaces above!! I keep looking at the pictures, falling in love with each glance!!!! :) Quote
Rick Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 Images of the new modular building are still under embargo for the next couple of hours. The official reveal is planned in 2 hours from this post (19:00 CET). Since it will be difficult to contain images or links to images (and I will not be available to moderate this thread at the moment), I will lock this topic until the official release in a couple of hours. Please come back in two hours time. Thanks for your understanding. Quote
Herky Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 So I know it is way, way too early to even get a rumor or anything about 2018, but a lot of people have had great ideas for modular buildings that have been delivered upon (bakery, music studio, flower shop hits with Assembly Square) but I also know others have mentioned quite a few we haven't gotten. I know folks have mentioned police station, hospital, museum similar to the Ideas one, hardware store, apartments, city park type build, etc...now I read a rumor that Assembly Square might be it...just wondered if others think this rumor is even based on any evidence or just that, hearsay. Also any other builds you can think of? I was looking at a local area to me and came up with Paint Store, Fitness gym, other food place like Italian with pizza, Shoe Store, Pharmacy - could be part of hospital, auto mechanic, and of course, church or bar, but these last two I just can't see happening although they are all over and really a part of most any landscape in any city. Gongoro73 Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 A school would be great, even a small one. The kids have the right to learn in Legoland. Quote
Lego Conductor Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Can Think of 12 Modulars for the next block: 1. School 2. Library 3. Hospital 4. Police Station 5. Auto Mechanic/Gas Station 6. Pizzeria 7. Museum 8. Hardware Store 9. Toy Store 10. Deli 11. Bicycle Shop 12. Soda Shop / Diner (1950s Style) Quote
Agent 86 Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 After three Modulars consisting of two or more buildings/businesses, I hope that the next Modular is single focused (e.g. police station or hospital). A school, library, museum, post office or block of apartments may also be a single building, but I'm not sure how likely they all are. Quote
sebitsena Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 I remember i suggested this list (here or somewhere else) : Museum Hospital Police station Court Post office Tourist Office School Library / Bookstore Theater Opera Fish shop Bakery > Jamie did it in Assembly Square! Garage / Dealer Florist > Jamie did it in Assembly Square! Butchery I think the next modular will mix 2 or 3 shops regarding to the last sets. And these shops should be connected by one feature at least : Police station or Court + Lawyer Office School + Book Store ... Quote
Rick Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 I wouldn't mind if they do another 48 wide modular. It gives a lot more possibilities for adding open spaces like little squares, parks and alleyways, which add a lot more variation to a modular street. It would also offer more possibilities to offer modulars connected by a story line (of which I'm surprised there isn't more in the current modular). Thinking a bit more about it, considering we had a corner modular this year, releasing two 48 wide "straight" modulars in 2017 and 2018 may well be their plan. Better start saving for a double corner with an inverted corner on of four 32 x 32 baseplates in 2019. Quote

Lego broke the "box style" of the first modulars introducing the Pet Shop in two separate buildings (watch Jamie's video of this set), then offered more variation of colors and shapes with Parisian Restaurant and Detective Office. But Assembly Square will break more the "wall of brick" with the alley and the fountain. I hope they will do a 48x32 modulars for 2018 with the same style (lot of offices and shops but without downsizing the set). 1 hour ago, gotoAndLego said: Once you swap the baseplates, Assembly Square is made up of two corner modulars. Terrasher Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Yeah, 48 wide is nice and adds something to the mix. But I hope TLG releases another 32x16 modular like the Pet Shop. Only prediction I made about the modular that would become Assembly Square was that there could be a dentist's office or a small clinic. Quote
