I'm not sure how long they've been out of production.  Individually, I think it's been a few years.

The "individual" blue baseplate was replaced by the tan baseplate in 2015

I meant sold as a "set" (i.e. in the "Classic" line)

But indeed it is still available from B&P (from the inventory of the Sydney Opera) at 6.8€, good to know. And the blue 16x32 at 3.84€... Or the 48x48 at an outrageous 18.86€.

This also allows to get the green one (instead of bright green) from the Assembly Square, though that at 7.5€ it seems even more overpriced... (and the 32x16 is at 4.17€)

I was really hoping for some sort of train station, but with the recent reveal of the WV Train Station that train has left the station...

Given that the Assembly Square is a larger (and more expensive) than average modular building, I see them going back to the 2000 piece range for this year's offering.

Also, as for retirements I wonder if we'll see PC and the PR go this year.

Its almost impossible to make a modular train station connectible with rest of houses... I thnk library/museum or hospital (clinic) is what we most likely can expect... parts wise expecting around 2000-2600 pcs with 170-180 USD price...

So,

ive had a chance to look through the whole catalogue cover to cover and there was NEVER a creator expert image of any modular in there.

I don't know an awful lot about this- but I presume lego don't put the modular building in the catalogue as it's generally only available to buy from Lego direct rather than third party retailers?

looking through previous years catalogues January to June, Lego don't put the modular buildings in there are far as I can see, so this talk of a blue baseplate is likely 100% speculation based on nothing.

Good news is that we're only a month and a bit away from seeing this Doctors surgery/museum/library/train station/donkey sanctuary.

My guess is a proper bookshop in the ground floor, with an apartment celebrating a party- to tie into the the CMF line due out soon after.

I have this elevated train station. Completely reconfigurable, with underpasses and bus stop. It's about 2000 bricks (maybe less), but has a huge footprint compared to normal modular sets. If TLG ever releases a modular train station, It could be like this. Looks best next to smaller buildings, like the Parisian Restaurant and the Market Street.

5 x 0.5 baseplate with 1 track, works best as a double corner building at the end of a block

2.5 x 1 baseplate with 2 tracks (at the sides), this version could be inserted within 2 modulars too, as a straight building

or 2.5 x 1 baseplate with 2 tracks (at the center), a standalone version

But of course I wouldn't buy a modular train station, I already have one. I expect a something like the Pet Shop, on 2 x 16x32 baseplates.

Well Lego between the Saturn V, Ninjago City, Old Fishing Store, Winter Village Train Station and new Star Wars MF almost forgot about the Modulars!  Almost.   September 29th of 2015 first solid post on Brick Bank and a year later to the day in 2016 first solid post on Assembly Square!   I love September.  Still holding out hope for a School or Police Station!  Library would also be nice.

No Modular for this year...

There will be, just gotta wait another month, once all the Star Wars fuss has died down. They'd hardly celebrate 10 years of modulars if they planned to end the line.

Yeah, I am just kidding :) I think that first proper info could be expected during the end of september, press release during november...

Instead of interior content, I think the team behind them focus more on making the exeriors unique to each. Having said that:

American: GG, FB, GE, TH, PC, DO, BB, blue building on AS?

European: CC (hmm... not sure where from) MS (Dutch), PS (Brit? I've always thought they look quite like the terraced houses in London), PR (French), AS (French... ish square and maybe buildings).

Still no Italian buildings to be found. Italian buildings are rather easy to build in Lego too. Bright coloured wall and shutters (a thing which btw no modular to date has). An even better point is there's been no yellow building in ten years. And interior... they can throw whatever they want in there.

I would rate GG as European too actually, but you're right, no Italian typical one yet. As the architecture there is so magnificent, we definitely need one!

True, but what I meant by Italian is not its neoclassical and barrocco palaces. Fun fact, in my room I have a poster of Palladio's "Villa Capra" aka "La Rotonda". It's not that I dislike the style, but I feel Lego is more suited for bright coloured buildings. For Italian I meant houses with brightly coloured shutters and wires badly hung from everywhere. Well, there's buildings like that all throughout France and Switzerland too, but you get what I mean. Now that I think about it, Lego's never made yellow nor an orange building. Just throwing ideas to the bowl!

Yellow would be an interesting color.  Perhaps a pastel yellow, sand yellow, or another realistic color used in buildings.  So far, the range of the modulars has been rather eclectic.  Sure, there are some similarities with some structures, but they are all definitely unique.  Of course, the building does not necessarily have to be one or even two main colors. Even with the Brick Bank, they came up with the idea of the laundromat extension, presumably in part to add some color to the structure as a whole.  My hope as always is that the building recalls an older style of architecture.  The actual function of the building is not as important to me, although I am always curious to see what it will be.

Just announced an hour ago on Facebook, Palace Cinema retires soon!

Good for LEGO to give a head's up to people. I love my Palace Cinema a ton, would certainly recommend that anybody buy it if they've missed out on it!

Exactly what I feel. Interior is nice and definetly interesting, but I don't decide which modular to buy relying on it. I don't particularly adore BB, but I appreciate some of the neoclassical elements on it. Funnily enough, Lego has 8 shades of blue, 7 shades of green, 6 shades of pink/purple but just 3 of yellow (not counting Sand Yellow which is in my mind Dark Tan and not yellow): Cool Yellow - ultra pale, Bright Yellow - the yellow we're all used that has been around for decades and Flame Yellow - a stronger shade. All yellow flower studs are this colour.

I've been playing around for years with the idea of bringing another yellow into the System. Last colours created by Lego were both "Azures", Olive Green and pretty sure Medium Nougat. A Mustard yellow I feel would be perfect, unique enough to build with, but blendable with "Earthy" tones like Medium Nougat or the "Tan" family. In fact, Lego had some 12 years ago a Curry colour, but only on a single Duplo brick. About that only much much more browny and orangy.
