No contest, Pet Shop is the best. While Grand Emporium is nice, I think Pet Shop may be the best of the entire series. Pet Shop has so much detail. And, it's actually two buildings. The Pet Shop and the residential building. I've actually seen the Pet Shop and the residential building displayed separately. The local Lego store split the two and had one on each side of Town Hall in their store display. Bottom line......you won't be disappointed with either, but I think PS is the best.

Well, the Lego store had a display with TH in the center and the PS split with the pet shop on one side and the residential part of PS on the other side. It looked so good that I have to think the idea came from TLG and not from the clones at the local Lego store.

Here's a display question. I have managed to accumulate all of the modular buildings plus one MOC. What's the best way to display them? I have a 6 foot long and 3 foot wide table. I can fit seven of the buildings in a straight line on the table. Since the Cinema is a corner building, I can turn the corner and fit up to 14 buildings on the table to form one solid block of modular buildings. But, that means for display purposes, the table will have to be in the center of a room to display all of the buildings in a manner where people can see the front of all of them. In an alternative display, I can add another table (which I've done) and the Cinema is on the corner of a new block of buildings. The tables can, in a more functional design, then be placed against a wall. What is your opinion? How do you display, or plan on displaying, these buildings? I currently have the two table set up with the first seven buildings on one table and the Cinema and a MOC on the new table.

Ideas?

I fit all building in my layout in this way:

..now i have to think of where to put the 10243 Paris Restaurant..... :cry_sad:

Of course. Once I get them in the mail, I'll post the pictures! My 7 month project is almost at its end.

Fantastic work :classic: I look forward to seeing them all completed! Are you going to incorporate them into a layout?

I have every intention of doing it. At this point, I just don't have the room though to set up a display.

I have so many ideas of what I am going to do, so in the mean time I was thinking of drawing out my plan and living through that until I move. (I have also been buying 2 sets of road plates with every order I make from Lego. Might as well start stocking up!

Great result The Jersey Brick Guy! You should be very proud for completing it - though we're going to need to see photographic proof.

Finally got the white hoses in from Europe! All 3 of these were built/collected at the same time. It took many many months, but it's finally done!

This is the ground floor of my Cafe Corner:

I am awaiting 2 pieces to finish the corner jukebox than on to the 2nd and 3rd floor!

Looks fantastic!!! I'm very jealous of your MS, I said I wasn't going to bother with it but I have started collecting brick for it :wall:

I love the interior, looks fantastic!!

Congratulations on the completion of the project and happy building

Here's an idea. Maybe good, maybe bad, maybe just plain stupid. Anyway, I'm in the process of buying my second copy of all of the modular buildings that are still available. I think that some of them could reasonably be twice as big as they are. The Grand Emporium, for starters. I think that there should be a plan ( for simple, non creative people like me) that would show an alternative build that would combine two sets. The Lego designer of the Grand Emporium would certainly know ( or lat least have a good idea) of the best way to combine two sets to build a larger GE. This plan could be available on line exclusively at Lego.com. No printed instructions, so not cost for that. It wouldn't cost much and would encourage additional sales of modular sets. Seems like a win-win situation.

As for me, my second Grand Emporium arrives tomorrow. I'll probably just combine it with the first one so that it takes up the entire end of one block.

Your thoughts????

For the Cafe Corner the instructions did include alternate designs for multiple copies - I seem to recall they went up to 'what to do when you have six Cafe Corners' (nice problem to have)

You could build the second GE as a straight building for a long department store that only has one corner module, or you could stack the middle floors on top of each other. Anything you like, really.

I have thought about doing that. I've been buying parts for some of the other designs which is eating up my lego money.

Decisions..decisions.

Thanks for the ideas, folks. I think I'll probably go with simply connecting the second GE to the first to form 'the end of the block'. I have a MOC that's based on the Haunted house. It's on a 32 plate. If I modify the second copy of PS that I have, and when the Parisian Cafe comes out, I'll almost have a full city block, both sides. I'm also working on a green space, buying the spring and fall themes that are only 70 some pieces each but together will make a nice park/green space area.

That is a nice set up. I still havent started on my interior of the corner cafe. I just dont have any ideas as to how to make the interior.

I thought about adding extra space to the GE but in the side and by not keeping it a second corner. Just add extra length on the side.

That is quite the project to ad to all of them. If love to do it if I had unlimited money.

I probably won't add to all of them. PS and GE just seemed, at least to me, as the most obvious candidates for expansion. I think that a floor or two could be added to the CC, but that would have to be via bricklink as the cost of buying CC whole is too cost prohibitive.

Hello, I a quick question for anyone who has or has bricklinked Market Street. I have about 25% of the bricks ordered and won't be completing it until the dark blue arches come down in price (hopefully when the Winter Village Market is released) but I was wondering about the white hoses for the balconies. What have you used to avoid buying the expensive hoses on bricklink, or do you have to bite the bullet with this piece and think about your average price per piece...??

Any suggestions would be appreciated
