agree Kryne it does say 4, but...204 pages only? they are selling instructions for modular buildings for 10 bucks each on the web site and are going to put 4 of them in one book for $20, I have a hard time with that one, it doesn't say full instructions...I am going to get it though so will let folks know, doesn't look like it will publish til September

I really do like some of the designs they have on that site though.

Herky, I think it is an economy of scale though. They are likely to sell a lot more copies of the book than an one set of instructions. I never bought any of their instructions but it might be a repackage of them.

If I come across the book at Barnes and Noble, I will buy it. I haven't planned an Amazon order for it though.

From what I understand, three of the houses share a common "base" and so mainly the front exterior needs to be built and attached.

The corner store looks rather detailed, but if the last three houses above represent the remaining three modulars, then they are rather plain but do suggest the use of a common 'base' and explains the reduced number of pages.

See, I bought the Lego in Space book thinking it was chock full of instructions because I REALLY want to build that updated Galaxy Explorer featured in the book. Unfortunately, the instructions are for the micro builds and a turtle robot. Initially, I was a little perturbed, then saw the book for what it was. By using the techniques showcased in the book, one can make an updated Galaxy Explorer. It's just not there for you in a step by step format. I think it's kinda like The Good Book says, "give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for life." I see this City book in the same way, and I plan on grabbing a copy for my daughter and I to study. That's a win/win in my book.

No pun intended.

^Nope, because all the information currently getting leaked is from the retailer catalog, which doesn't include LBR exclusives like the modulars.

Very disappointing not to see any Modular set....

Modulars are D2C. Since they are only really sold through channels Lego has direct control over they do not appear in retailer catalogs and early lists. Unless stuff like art assets leak Lego can keep their names and descriptions undisclosed almost until the moment they release. Lately we have been seeing reveal to release windows of anywhere from 3-6 weeks for D2C stuff. (I think we had about 15 days on the Mixer before it hit VIP sales.) not seeing a Modular on this list does not mean anything. We would not expect to see it listed there.

I was just clicking through the modular submissions on Lego Ideas, some really good MOC's on there that could be used for inspiration for the designers. The History Museum was very well done I thought and is halfway I think to the 10K support needed. Saw a nice bakery/hardware one, just impressed overall at the quality that folks put into their creations, especially knowing that several of those came from people on this site. Faefrost, your moc in your posts included for sure, I love that one and think it would be a cool add to the modular block.

I am not too worried about the modular line, I do think that the 3 floor idea could run out at some point, but with all this to look at and use, TLG has many years to go...I think if we get a modular in the first 4 months of 2015 that will be fine, but a look at the list of other sets (amazed and thrilled there were 2 architecture line) and what I know I will buy along with my kids, I am going to be broke next year as it is.

Would be nice to hear something though, even a "hey thanks for all the interest, we are working on it and we really think you will like it" statement from TLG

Thanks for the clarification :)....so after-all there is a hope to some news soon!

What surprises me is the lack of any type of leak. I had a general idea about the Mixer months before it came out. General idea, no specifics. Unless I count the 'bank' rumor that I got from the same lego source, I haven't had a hint at anything.

At least we'll have everything going back through GE for the foreseeable future.

As I posted on Brickset this morning, I have been reliably informed that the next modular will be a Detective Agency. £132.99, available 1st Jan 2015.

Oh my oh my! But can you define what does "reliably informed" mean?

Also £132.99 means that it will not be as big as Town Hall - which is good!

Hey, I'm not going to question anyone about their sources. Besides, a good rumor is almost as much fun as the real facts. As far as the idea of a detective agency, fine. I'll buy that. I'm more concerned about the style of the building rather than what it's titled. I just don't want another modular 'lite'.
