Like on the most recent versions of Luke's Landspeeder in LEGO Star Wars, or the garage door of the Simpsons House? It's a nice colour, but too dark to fill that missing spot. Light nougat might work quite well though - and have the secondary benefit that the bricks/parts could also be used to make fleshie brick-built characters instead of using tan. Quote
jonwil Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 Cool Yellow (as used on the FIAT) would be a nice color to see. As would Sand Yellow (as seen to great effect on the Creator Model Town House from 2007). More Earth Green and Earth Blue would be nice as well. More bright orange too (but that's probably too bright for a modular building). I would ask for more Dark Red but the GHBQ satisfied my needs there :) Quote

At this point, I've seen complaints about the color schemes of Bookshop, Corner Garage, Downtown Diner, and Diagon Alley being too "Friends-ish" also. Just search for appearances of the word "Friends" in this topic and you'll see plenty of examples. All in all, I can't think of any reason pinks, purples, and pastels would be any more out-of-place on a modular street than colors like Bright Yellow, Medium Blue, Light Royal Blue, and Sand Green which have already had prominent appearances in Modular Buildings sets. Certainly they are no more vibrant than the sort of colors you might find in many historic European towns like Copenhagen, Venice, Madrid, or Rothenburg. Why not embrace that sort of opportunity to mix things up a little? After all, it'll surely get tiresome if LEGO just keeps reusing the same handful of "earth tones" over and over again… I would love to see...cool yellow I believe it is(the color of the ice cream shop in DA), as a Modular building color. As the aforementioned DA set shows, it works well, even if the building is significantly smaller than a Modular. It pairs well with a whole host of colors. People finding reason to complain even over the little strip of pink that was in the Diner set was a bit baffling. But, people have their preferences on color, for better or worse, so just gotta roll with it. On 10/9/2020 at 9:16 AM, MAB said: I cannot see anything wrong with the colours in the Bookshop or the Corner Garage. For Downtown Diner, I cannot really see the sign being anything but bright pink - to me, it's neon and meant to be garish. Diagon Alley, the one I don't like is the Weasley's shop as it is rather bright. But then isn't that the point of it, so again a decent fit? I think there is a red/pink family colour missing though, a somewhat dirty/drab/beige pink or light red, something similar to the old sand red. I don't think it would fit in Friends, and would be ideal for pink sandstone. I feel like they could’ve gone with a red Diner sign, but I love the pink. It’s definitely more eye catching, like neon is supposed to be. I don’t see a problem with colors used in any of the other Modulars you listed as well. Quote
jonwil Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 I love the use of the colors on the Downtown Diner (the pink of the sign and the teal of the arched bit) but I wouldn't want a building that uses either color as a primary color (which is why I am not the biggest fan of the Bookshop). Also not a fan of the Olive Green on the Parisian Restaurant and the Dark Orange on the Town Hall/Corner Garage. But I LOVE the large-scale use of the blue shades on the Detective's Office, the dark green windows on the Grand Emporium, the dark tan on the Palace Cinema, the color schemes of all 3 buildings in the 2008 Town Plan set and most of the colors in the new Diagon Alley set (Flourish and Blotts along with Scribbulus are my favorites in terms of colors) Quote
LegoSjaak Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 Long time ago for me to post here....but kind of curious abput what the next modular will be. I assume there are no comcrete things about it, yet? Quote

The_Grizzlysnake Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 As much as I can remember/discover, this year’s Bookshop was announced on December sixth, so I would expect it to be bounced more or less around then. 5 hours ago, Boettner Builds said: Welcome back LegoSjaak! SFmuscle73 Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 In my mind (not that I have a source or that I am right), I can’t see them doing a Museum until Assembly Square retires as the Museum if done right should be larger... I can hope can’t I? Quote
The_Grizzlysnake Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 (edited) Mmm. Maybe they should save the Museum for the 15 or 20 year anniversary so they can do it really big. 14 hours ago, SFmuscle73 said: In my mind (not that I have a source or that I am right), I can’t see them doing a Museum until Assembly Square retires as the Museum if done right should be larger... I can hope can’t I? Assembely square is the oldest modular currently available from LEGO, so I think it will be retired at the end of this year, when the new one comes out, whatever that may be. And then the diner next year, the garage the year after that, etc. Edited October 15, 2020 by The_Grizzlysnake Quote

(Correct me if I’m wrong) Challenge accepted; Both Detective's Office (released in 2015) and Brick Bank (released in 2016) retired in 2018, a year before Parisian Restaurant (released in 2014) which retired in 2019. The_Grizzlysnake Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 I stand corrected. Thank you, mark1991t. I did not know that. Quote
Ogist Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 Because of that, I bought Diner today. Museum or hospital ( smal clinic) would be nice for new modular for me. Quote

Its a great list you've made of all the contents of all the modulars. Easy to forget the additional parts of the builds when just describing the official set names. Quote
BrickFit26 Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 I still think we need a Post Office. I don't know what else could go along with it. Quote

jonwil Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 An older-style police station could work very well IMO. The fire brigade was very popular even though they released and still release fire stations in City all the time, a police station could work very well for the same reasons if done right (I would buy one for sure) If they did a post office they could continue the theme of the Assembly Square and Corner Garage and have something medical on the upper floor (an optometrist would be really cool to see, I think the closest we have come is that eye chart sticker from the 2018 hospital set) I think something recreation (such as a bowling alley or a video game arcade) would also be very popular. A school in particular, since the theme hasn’t been approached yet in the Modular universe. A museum also could be a good choice, but I think an hospital or school are more basic or ABC (no pun intended...) in a little city Quote
