This set reminds me of that new Disney film Soul. It features a jazz club, pizza and a Tailors shop run by the main characters mom. The PR reminds me of another Disney film Ratatouille.

The police station reminds me of The Simpson’s somehow.  I suppose each modular is inspires different call backs to all of us.

Official pictures are on Reddit Legoleak, from a New Zealand store. As expected, and as before, the more I see it, the more I like it. Even the dark red is starting to grow on me, especially in the wide lifestyle photos.

A Jazz Club is rather niche, especially when more standard buildings are needed, like a hospital, post office etc.   On the other hand, maybe it is considered more "adult".  Not something you would see in City or Classic Town.

My guess is the Jazz Club is just a cover for something more seedy and dark going's on.  The Pizzeria could also be, maybe Italian Mafia is involved the "cookie" smuggling, or running some sort of protection racket in the town.

I think that's exactly what I like about this modular. It gives the town more of a lived in vibe, where there are actually clubs people can go to for fun, rather than just essential amenities like houses, restaurants and a police station.

It's a shame these official pictures don't show too much of the interior though.

  • I like the stain glass windows
  • More snot in the façade that I first noticed
  • Look great on the back of the box
  • 2899 is a lot of pieces for the size
  • The sewing machine looks great, so do the figs
  • Nice to see chimney connects to a pizza oven

The reveal must be today and greatyellowbrick posted a bit too early.

Swap out the "a" for an "i" to make it even more adult.

I wonder if you can mirrorbuild it so that the pizza place is on the right side. I wanted to do that with the Sanctum Sanctorum until I realized that one of the mirror parts required to replace the roof tiles isn't availabe in sand green.

It looks a lot better next to other modulars, which is kind of super important. My problem with the BH is that it looks pretty bad next to every modular I have seen it by. However the back of the box makes the PS,JC and BH all look really nice.

Yeah it's really fat, takes up a large amount of the baseplate. I started building the Daily Bugle last night and I'm amazed by how small the actual footprint of the building is.

🤣🤣

so it is a mobster bar, with a pizza joint next to it and with an italian tailor for sharp suits. And they place it next to the police department? How bold of the maffia. Makes you think about how corrupt these cops are in legocity

So LEGO City is just like real life!

There is a video on Lego's Twitter of the set being build in chunks. It's the only place I've seen that shows the building without the JazzClub sign. It looks a lot better to me.

Whoever was the one who said they'll eat their Lego collection if this turns out to be real must be REALLY regretting saying that right now....

(I would quote them, but I can't find the post!)

Seeing it in 3D, and with the official pictures I like it more than with the first leak (well... that was to be expected).

It is different enough than the previous modulars, which is a good thing.

You never know. It could still be fake. Maybe someone has hacked the LEGO website... :pir_laugh2:

Still i think it needed more decoration inside the buildings. The pizzeria needed a topping poster or something like that. Maybe a tile with the tower of pisa on it. The tailer needs a mirror (it doesn’t have one, right?) and some glamorous ads. The Jazz club obviously needed posters with great lego jazz artists, or pictures of lego jazz artists that performed there. And the changing room needed a poster of a magician show and some extra tiles with jazz musicians on it.

Ok, so with official pictures out I noticed some great details and my interest has increased exponentially.

What I don't like: empty backyard (but I'm glad it's only 4 stands deep), jazz club sign.

Ya, the lack of posters and maybe a menu in the pizzeria it's a big missed opportunity of the graphic designer.

The official photos are obviously an improvement. I still don’t care for the bright blue on the ground floor of the Jazz Club; however it’s only a facade, made of simple pieces, so will be easy to swap out for another colour - probably a paler blue closer to the DO colour scheme.

Overall I like it, but it's not 'wow' for me. The facade looks a bit basic, but there's also lots of good things. It looks a lot better between Police Station and Boutique Hotel than it looks separately.

There was more than one person who said that on here. Remember it was so late that supply change issues canceled the set! HAHAHAHA! But no one ever eats their words around here as long as you say everything LEGO makes is 100% awesome.

What color is the base floor? Azure? I have a hard time telling the colors apart in LEGO renders and pictures.
