Murdoch17 Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 @hrdknxbrix LEGO has never approved a modular building on Ideas, and never will. This is because Ideas is for expanding the Lego portfolio of themes (such as Minecraft, Doctor Who, etc.), not previously established and still running lines like modular buildings. Sorry, but it ain't happening. Quote

Sorry, but it ain't happening. Exactly this. Someone is better trying their luck with the BDP if they want to publish a modular building. If I ever try my hand at getting a LEGO Ideas submission approved I'd probably build a retro item. We've had the PacMan Machine, the Atari, the NES, the Fender and the Polaroid Camera. You're better building what LEGO is more likely to produce rather than what you want as a set. Also once you've submitted an entry you can't do anything with it like sell plans on Rebrickable or have a third party company like Mediaeval Bricks or their parent sell your idea for you for no small period of time afterwards. Lion King Posted April 21, 2024 Posted April 21, 2024 I might misremember but I think there will be an IDEAS set that would suit with modular buildings nicely? Quote
Vedauwoo Posted April 21, 2024 Posted April 21, 2024 This would have to be a "joke post," as we know it would never happen, but..... Ghetto / Projects high rise - Meth/drug lab in basement - First floor street facing shops, with cage barriers, and roll down garage doors (Bodega, Dispensary, Liquor store, pawn shop) - Cool "dilapidated" building techniques - GWP: That "Hobo on the bench" set we have all seen.... lolz But seriously, would be cool..... one of the store fronts could even be a clinic (hospital tie-in) or a police sub-station.... There will be a botanical garden set, that was originally done as modular compatible, but we don't know what it will end up as. Quote

0tter Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Is there any reason we haven't seen a butcher yet? With the existing sausage, t-bone and turkey leg moulds, as well as all of the different dogs to build into the story-telling, I can't be alone in wanting this. Quote

I guess the entire Lego company is vegan/vegetarian! Now seriousness, I feel like they haven’t asked for butcher’s shop as I read their “common” wishlist, such as hopsital, post office, school, etc. None of them mentioned “butcher’s shop on thier wishlists so i assume it’s less desirable. It migh be displeasure to find a dead animal in freezer, don’t you think? Regardless ( without freezer with dead animal in it), i would loe to get one for my city! Quote
BrickFit26 Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 In Brick Clicker's latest video he says that the 2025 modular will most likely available on December 1 again. Quote
Lion King Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 I’m mildly surprised that they would release the next Modular Building on December 1 agin. But I guess they change the marketing plan because of the Christmas shopping stuff. Quote
BrickFit26 Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 From what he said was that the Museum sold well just in time for the holiday shopping. Quote
Lion King Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 Welll, I mean it’s no secret. Personally i like to wait until there is GWP to go with modular Building set like I ordered Jazz Club to get Moving Truck and Museum to get Retro Food Truck. Quote

Some time back, lego released a fish monger with a minifig and side build. I guess a butcher could have been part of the shelved city market that they mentioned. Wonder if this will really be true for this year, or that December item will be a different Icons item? I feel like this year's release will be a 'normal' size modular after that big museum set. Hospital and university are two establishments that minifigs badly need, for which there has been no substitute business in past modulars. Quote
Yoggington Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 I wonder if the 'Year of Space' might influence the choice of modular. E.G. An observatory with opening roof. Quote

But wouldn't all the space exhibit in the Natural History Museum account for that? It's a nice idea, but I don't know how it would fit into a modular street, as observatories are normally in remote places. Also, I have the Bricklink Designer Program observatory, so for purely selfish reasons, I hope it's something else! Quote

Brick Clicker seems to think it is the modular and you're right it will most likely be normal size since it's suppose to be a corner modular this time. Hospital and university id wany to be in the size of the AS and Museum. Quote
Lion King Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 I think the next modular building would be a corner building. We got the recent corner building - Boutique Hotel before we got two straight ones - Jazz Club. And Natural History Museum. Quote

Now that you mention it, those three buildings seem awkward when placed together. The Jazz Club is the most out of place. I am hoping they come up with something that will either balance out the lineup, at least in terms of exterior aesthetics, or at the very least go with the Museum, and the Hotel. Quote

Well i was just speculating that the next Modular Building would be a corner building after two straight buildings (Jazz Club and Natural History Museum)…. But i get what you mean about Jazz Club. I would love to see somethign that is “nomral lay” colored. Honestly, I like Jaz Club’s architecture and color scheme. Just place it a bit far away from Boutique Hotel and Natural History Musseum. Lion King Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 (edited) I think 10350 will be the next Modular Buidling. I don’t know if it’s true since i found it form Brick Fantatic but i could not find info somehwere else. Edited June 8, 2024 by Lion King Quote
BrickFit26 Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 That's what Brick Clicker said in one of his videos 8 days ago. Releasing again on Dec 1. Quote
Lion King Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 (edited) I got the first modular add-on and it’s a construction site. My sister helped me build it. As soon as we finsihed building it, it is….qute underwhelming. I agree with folks that it is pretty basic. My sister said she thinks that add-on is little weird (she is not a Lego fan herself but she loves helping me building Modular buildings). Also, she said instruction was pretty tricky for her to follow even tho building technique is way simple. But there are a few things I like about: A.) it’s a 16x32 baseplate B.) it looks nice next to modular buildings. C.) it includes a toilet and printed sign (of course not exclusive) I’m not sure about ordering an ending station add-one at the moment. Unlike add-ones, I would love to see TLG to release actual 16x32 modular building. Like, one 32x32 modular building and one 16x32 baseplate modular per a year. It might be unlikely but I keep dreaming…. EDIT: I just ordered Vending Stand add-on becuase of 2x Insider Points along with a few sets. Edited June 16, 2024 by Lion King Quote
