NotTheSinger Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Maybe you could connect the two together somehow to make an alley between the buildings!   Quote
Wookiee Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Well my Town Hall arrived today so having to pay over the odds for it is now off the agenda. Quote
tkatt Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 after being out all last week with the flu, I am now on the bandwagon for a hospital modular, I pray none of you get that nasty sickness, it puts you on your butt, so we do need a hospital for when our minifigs get sick, or a doctors office at least I think the GB HQ would be a one off like the Simpsons, would be interested to hear if anyone has modularized that house Found it. Modularized Simpson's House Quote
Herky Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 I like what he did to the building but that section of "masks" which is really just heads is kind of creepy to me. Talk about your one color though, whew...thanks for the link. I think the main problem with GB HQ was that you never saw upstairs, but the containment unit was in the basement so have to make some sort of basement to it. Quote
bensaunders Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Hmmm, are we thinking the Town Hall has been retired as it now shows as SOLD OUT on the Lego website in the UK? I really hope not as it was the next one I wanted to pick up! Cheers Ben Quote

CisFran Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Wow, TH and GE were now retired in Swiss S@H... Good thing I ordered mine (TH) last week! The one I missed was the haunted House. I was planning to order it during the 2X VIP points but was retired before that time. Quote
Herky Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 we almost need a lighted dashboard showing the modular and country and if it is in sold out status, available status, etc...I think if you go 5 pages back and look there are 50 posts or more just talking about TH and it's status meanwhile back at the farm, still no word, I did some web searching and found out all the same info on the det agency rumor, but no definitive info with no release date, sigh Quote
bensaunders Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Well I rushed over to my local lego store and picked up a TH as they had 2 left and got a free little christmas workshop! The lady there told me that loads of big sets are being retired at the moment! Quote
Heppeng Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 I think the main problem with GB HQ was that you never saw upstairs My memory may be fading, but were they not upstairs when eating the takeaway that represented "the last of the petty cash" just before they got their first call to go to the hotel and get slimer? TheLegoDr Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) You always think you have plenty of time to snag these larger sets, until you realize how old some of them actually are! Pet Shop is now 3 years old. Town Hall is 2 years old. VW Van 3 years, Sopwith Camel 2 years. Kingdoms Joust 2 years. Arkham Asylum almost 2 years. Although a problem is The UCS Tumbler has been out of stock since it came listed. Not backordered, just temporarily out of stock. I definitely want one, but if they quit making them that quickly then LEGO should look into other sets with that type of appeal. So no wonder a lot of sets will be retiring this year, including Modular buildings. Double points seems to clear out a lot of inventory. I wanted to order more this year for double points, but just didn't have the budget to do so. Edited October 27, 2014 by TheLegoDr Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 On the Aussie site at Lego.com, the PR, PC and PS are available (except the PS is out of stock till 11th of November). Though I have written earlier in this topic to say that independent retailers might have the GE and TH available to them to sell......only thing to do is to contact any of the independent retailers and ask if they have the GE or TH. peter_m Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 On friday I have been in Lego store in Donauzentrum in Vienna. They have had all of the modulars there. Quote
CisFran Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 i would love to know if Lego Donauzentrum still have the Haunted house in stock... Quote
Jern92 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Wow, TH and GE were now retired in Swiss S@H... Good thing I ordered mine (TH) last week! The one I missed was the haunted House. I was planning to order it during the 2X VIP points but was retired before that time. I got my Haunted House during the 2x VIP points promotion, but I made my order at the stroke of midnight on the 1st of October out of desperation and fear that it won't be coming back. Annoyingly, it was still available for about 10 days after that, but then disappeared again. I'm curious though; some products are labelled as 'Retired' like the FB in the US, but others like the GE and TH are labelled as 'Sold Out'. Do these labels mean the same thing? I've also noticed that the FB has now been completely removed from the NZ Shop@Home, but the GE and TH are still there (albeit listed as 'Sold Out'). Does it mean that non-US Shop@Homes delete retired products whereas the US one simply labels them as 'Retired'? Quote
Off the wall Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 On the U.S. website, I've seen products return after having been listed as 'sold out'. So, 'sold out' is not necessarily synonymous with 'retired'. Quote
scottwb2010 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 (edited) I think TLC is doing one of 2 things or maybe both. 1. They are showing sold out in most country's of the 3 oldest modulars as these are in high demand at present due to retiral rumors and they don't won't to be dishing out loads of x2 VIP hence list them sold out and then list them available again in November if they do have stock. Lets face it, a company the size of Lego will know exactly how much stock they have left of these 3 modulars and where they are! 2. We currently have 5 mods available which is quite alot. I reckon that the 3 oldest, GE 2010, PS 2011 and TH 2012 will all be retired at once ie asap which might leave us with just PC and PR for a short while and this makes room for the 2015 mod which will be out probably early in the year ie between Jan 1st and Easter where we will be back to having 3 mods available! glendo Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 I believe the artificial speculation has caused a panic/rush on both GE and TH and supplies have been dried up. (although GE retirement is plausible). "out of stock" without a date IMO means the factories are running at capacity , and dont have a time when production on another batch will be planned. Exo-suit didnt have a planned production run for a while if I recall..... IMO... it's all UFO conspiracy theories on TH, and a panic has occurred. Mind you, TH is the biggest modular out there, and they are probably not getting much $$ return on producing such a large set. Quote

You may be right, it's been 10 years since I watched it, I think you are to be honest, I do remember the containment unit though, and Peck, so to put out that as a modular or not, I would think you have to have that part in it. . I have to agree, 5 is just a lot out there and it is hard to imagine that even the Nov 21 announcement would be for another modular until something is gone. Quote

Well it is not only 5 are a lot but Lego also needz to make profits from the new modulars the case these modulars still there which will affect the profits and selling process. Plus people will buy these sets then their budgets will be delayed for the 2015 sets which i am sure Lego will not be happy about it...:-). Business Talks! ;-) Quote
scottwb2010 Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 (edited) Lego are probably realising that there are more and more people coming out their dark ages every week, and one of the themes new AFOL's get into, is the Modular Series, so they are making the most of and capatilising on having many of the Modulars available at one time before retiring a few, as they know how disappointed new AFOL's are that Cafe Corner and Green Grocer wher not available (unless secondary market) when they returned to Lego which may be one reason Fire Brigade and Grand Emporium got an extended run! DD840 Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 I'm hoping to get the PS and PR...is it reasonable to think there will be one or the other in stock for any November promotions? I got the cinema earlier this month and am now unsure if it would be better to get the PS before the end of the week. Any advice? Quote

Andy D Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 I'm hoping to get the PS and PR...is it reasonable to think there will be one or the other in stock for any November promotions? I got the cinema earlier this month and am now unsure if it would be better to get the PS before the end of the week. Any advice? If you really want it, buy it when available. If you wait for a promotion you may run the risk of not getting it. PS seems to be in and out of stock frequently. A couple of weeks ago it was on back order, I ordered and it shipped but I noticed that when it was listed as in stock it lasted about a day. One day this in stock, out of stock (back ordered) will go to sold out. Right now speculators are buying and others are trying to get sets before sold out, lots of activity. If I really wanted an older set I would buy when it is available and not wait for promotions. I missed another HH because of waiting for the "right time" now it's gone. Lesson learned buy when available. Just MHO, YMMV Andy D Quote
chaosboi Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Town Hall is now showing 'Out of stock, expected ship date 18 Nov 2014' in the Lego.com.au store. I just picked it up as well at full price. Not sure if I should be happy I finally have it, or annoyed that it's staying around and I could have got it with VIP point and Bonus sets, or discounted locally. Such is life and rumours! Quote
