Colossus Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I think we will be slowly getting that in the Creative Expert line. Just not as Modulars. We just got the Carnival Mixer and rumor is next up is a Ferris Wheel. This is true. Thanks for the reminder! Quote
BirdOPrey5 Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 (edited) For those of you a little bit behind on your modular collection, check this item number on the ebay US website: 221629268251 OMG that seller is only about 1 mile from my house... I may need to randomly ring door bells until I find them... (2km for the rest of you.) Edited December 9, 2014 by BirdOPrey5 Quote
LegoGuyK Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 (edited) Well if someone was to do up a"Flynn's" it is surprisingly well documented. Arcade on the ground floor. Kevin Flynn's mangy apartment above and looking down on the Arcade. Back room/basement with the "zap people into the grid" machine (in "Tron Legacy") etc. That would actually be a good idea for an arcade. Edited December 9, 2014 by LegoGuyK Quote

BirdOPrey5 Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 The price is a waaaayyyyyyy over priced plus ( rserve didnt met ),,so i guess it is a no point Is it? The set has 3 Market Streets, best I can tell they average $2000 or so a piece new sealed in box in eBay... so there is $6,000 there alone... Another $1,000 for Cafe Corner.... I would have set a reserve at $8k... You do think they would have bought a PR and just thrown it in to make it truly complete though. Quote

Given current market prices, it's probably a fair market price. Would I pay it? No. But, I don't set the market. Quote
Off the wall Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I'd like the next modular to be based on the Sun Records building in Memphis. Quote
eurotrash Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I'd like the next modular to be based on the Sun Records building in Memphis. Showing your age there OTW. Me? I'd be happy with the Hacienda in Manchester. Seriously though, that's a good call. I could see it working. Quote

dhc6twinotter Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 All these suggestions are great. I would love to see an arcade, bank, dentist, and pharmacy. I would also like to see a post office with a small postal dilivery car or motorcyle. Many of the modulars have mailboxes, so a post office would go well with the theme. Quote
Rob1321 Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 That would be a very plain modular. Maybe a recording studio with a radio station would be nice. What about a modular city park? Wonder how that would work. Quote
tkatt Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I've been planning a central park for my modular setup. My idea is to use two baseplates and have them back to back so that it would be 32 studs wide and 64 studs deep. My ultimate version would include a bandstand, a pond, trees, flowerbeds, and a little playground. Quote
Herky Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 When folks have shared their city blocks, often I see a MOC'd park in there. Makes me wonder how hard it would be for TLG to make an official one, would be a lot less pieces, and something in the $50 US range I think, but would be a welcome addition to the line, maybe this could the 2nd "Modular" one year. I was thinking of how to do a bank, the first floor would be easy, lobby, maybe a vault, a manager office...I am still not sure what the 2nd and 3rd floors would be. Office cubes maybe on 2nd floor taking care of incoming checks? I really don't know what the 3rd floor would be other than offices as well...or you could do a 2 floor lobby maybe with vaulted ceiling, but then it would still likely have a stairwell or elevator to a 3rd floor which is offices. I think folks would find that rather plain. A hospital is kind of likewise, that is a first floor lobby/emergency room with then patient rooms and maybe a doctor's office/nurses station on floors 2 and 3. If they do a hospital, I am putting a toilet on the roof in honor of Scrubs and that whole episode arc with Michael J Fox. And have to find a Dr Cox for it. I am still going to hope for a museum at this point. I like these other two but a museum or library or hardware store is more my desire...we do have a good long time to discuss and have fun with it all though. Quote

Ok..u could be right depends on how much u think you wanna sell them for. I got my MS NIB for $1000 and CC NIB $1500 and GG NIB for $760..all 9 modulars NIB costed me for only $4000...which i believe a very fair price although expensive Quote

I do not think they sell at that price: they are just available, but no-one buys them. The real price is the price at which things get sold. For that, Bricklink is a better guide than Ebay. In the last 6 months, the Market Street was sold 13 times with an average price a little under 1000 €: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?S=10190-1 Edited December 10, 2014 by antp Quote

I agree, I have also been thinking about a museum, but a library would be nice. I don't really care about interiors, I just enjoy an interesting architecture on the outside. Just MHO, YMMV Andy D Quote

I think folks would find that rather plain. My thoughts are: bottom floor has the vault and the tellers, second floor has office space. You could also include a breakroom, mailroom, copy machine room, etc. If there is a third floor, how about a boardroom? Anyone who watched the original Godfather might recall the meeting where Don Corleone met with all the other dons. That was a boardroom in a bank. Perhaps you could have a large setup in a guilded style. Lots of story potential in a bank. Count me among the people who believes it is not necessary for every modular to have a story, but it seems like it has become necessary in either the minds of the creators or someone high up in TLG. It might be fun to MOC my own bank at some point, but my fear would be as soon as it is finished, they will announce a modular bank superior to mine. Quote
Herky Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Nice looking park Robin Lego, I like it, very botanical On the auction since it came with 3 MS, not a bad price, if you could get it down, it would be a good buy for someone who has no modular buildings and then resell the other 2 MS to get some money back...$5000 would be a good price if you could get it. AFOL1970, good thoughts, that makes sense for a bank, I like it. No one else watched Scrubs and the toilet on the roof episode? Quote
Off the wall Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 (edited) I think it was about a year and a half ago that Lego had some small seasonal sets out for spring and fall. They were inexpensive and a great way to accumulate the parts necessary to build a park. Lots of trees, parts to make a fountain, flowers. I used these to make the park area that surrounds my expanded TH. btw, if you google 'Lego modular MOC bank'....you'll see some interesting ideas. Edited December 10, 2014 by Off the wall Quote
Moebius118 Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I'd like the next modular to be based on the Sun Records building in Memphis. I had to look it up but wow I would be hyping up that building so bad if it came to fruition. It exemplifies what I believe to be an ideal modular. The quintessential everyday towns building. Nothing too flashy or fancy but significant in how it represents the era in subtlety. And a records studio? Need. Originally my favorite idea for a modular was something of that diner from the Nighthawks painting but... Quote
badbob001 Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I'd like the next modular to be based on the Sun Records building in Memphis. I'm curious why you would pick this building? The outside looks rather plain except for the guitar-sign: Certainly the inside could be very interesting, but I don't think you're interested in that. Quote
Thetford Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 Since we are listing what types of building we want, I guess I would like to see a white streamline moderne corner building with malt shop on the ground floor, curved glass block window at the corner, and heavy use of chrome pieces. Quote
