Doesn't mean we should stop bitching about it!

My thoughts exactly! Worked with my grandparents when I was a kid, so I don't see why it shouldn't work now!

Someday, a time will come where they'll give us what we want, just to stop us from nagging!

Regarding the interior, it would be awesome if there was a kitchen (or food preparation area of some sort) ... if the "dining area" is kept outside, this should be possible. However, with tables and chairs outside, there won't be much left of the sidewalk.

I'm excited that we will have a modular with French architecture! I'm sure whatever little tid-bits they put in it will be quite cool. I'm thinking the Mini-figs will include a chef, waiter/waitress, patrons (x2)? Also since I am assuming it will have upper floors and that these will be apartments?

Well, if you think about Cafe Corner, there wasn't much left of that sidewalk either. You almost need to back the building up more to accommodate the eating area outside and still allow walking area. Granted, in our Historic Downtown area, the sidewalks are really narrow in most places. You have to walk single file a lot of the time to get around all of the outdoor eating areas.

I have been thinking a lot about the sidewalks, and I was thinking of possibly just extending the side walks out even more. Think the 7 tiles that comes with them now + 7 more, 14 tiles away from the street, but this will allow for parking spots, flower plots, bus stops and the like.

In many European cities, Paris included, sidewalks in the historic centre can be very small and completely occupied by restaurant tables. You'll have to walk a few meters on the street in that case. But many city centres are car free, so that is not always a problem. A large Parisian boulevard is another story. It will tend to have a broad sidealk.

Just please no stickers!

AFAIK, the modulars usually don't feature stickers ... 10232 Palace Cinema was the only exception thus far (and I can see why), so I don't think you'll have to worry about stickers.

About tables on the sidewalk:

maybe you could do like they do in Leuven Belgium, just place the tables on the street:

It is a one way street but buses travel in both directions so it is sort of usable on a two way street also i guess.

address to google your self: Naamsestraat 42, Leuven, Belgium

Sounds very good, Nice addition to my collection of modulars! Another design i have been thinking about is a Bank; with a staircase entrance, with a vault in the cellar together with smaller and bigger saves, first floor with a counter section and a bankmangersoffice, and a high ceiling with 2 or 3 hanging chandeliers, and a second Floor with offices where the minifigs can discuss thier financials, i think in todays world this would be a great addition!

A fine dining restaurant would be a fantastic addition to the modular series. We already have a snooty waiter from the most recent series ten of the MFC, and correct me if I'm wrong, but is there not a waitress in the upcoming series 11? some patrons in evening wear and we will be all set

A French (Parisian) building. Sounds great. Thanks Grogal for sharing. Can't wait (like all the rest of us) for more information and pictures. But i like it already. I like the way TLG surfs all over the world with the modulars. FB, GE and TH definitly American (or very infuencend), CC look French to me and GG could easely be found in Germany. Although PT can be found in America (LA), the style is Asian. What's next, a Bavarian Beerhal? Would that be great. An Oktoberfest in Legotown.

The Town Hall to me looks quite danish, it really reminds me of the Town Hall in my City (Odense)

But it is possible that this style was very used for Towh Hall around the world.

GE looks like any late 19th century British sphere of influence department store. TH looks like a fair few of the early 20th century town halls in Ireland which would have swiped their designs from elsewhere.

They do a fairly good job of ensuring no set looks massively obviously from one specific area - even FB which seems to be based on a specific New York station doesn't look much unlike any other city fire station of that era.

I doubt they will have just taken techniques from a MOC, as the modular buildings are a lot about giving us new techniques.

I'm not sure about that......the Star Wars UCS Imperial Shuttle was based on a MOC.

For images we might have to wait until early next year or might it appear in The Lego Movie.

Pictures might come sooner, if the new Lego store in Paris is to open this summer, a new exclusive modular would nicely enhance the openning... of course if the new ratatouille restaurant is built at the same time... Let's never give up hope..
