BryanKinkel Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 From a Toy Fair press release : Lego Group Kicks-Off Milestone Year... "In LEGO D.I.N.O. Attack, mutant dinosaurs are wreaking havoc on the city and the D.I.N.O. Force must tame them! Exciting theme features awesome models with incredible function and detail - an all-terrain vehicle carries supplies, a tank with rotating extending arm rolls in with the team and a huge chopper hits the air to aid the effort. Larger dinos feature light-up eyes, smaller collectible dinos add to the play. " See the link for the rest of the press release. -- Bryan Quote
David85 Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 So much for it being just another "Adventure theme". A tank? I thought Lego was against tanks. Maybe they really have smartened up. I guess Lego really is copying JP4. :) I hope the sets aren't crap, they can come out REALLY badly. But these sound different than the ones that were "canceled" so maybe they "fixxed" them up. Quote
sam89 Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 Thanks for the news BryanKinkel, I just put it on the front page. I can't wait to see the pics at Toy Fair. Like David said, this theme could be really bad or really good. Lets hope it's the latter ;) Quote
The Middleman Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 Wow, they kept this tightly under wraps, if it's coming out this year! Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 Thanks for the info Bryan. Looking forward to seeing the dinos and the new vehicles. Quote

WesternOutlaw Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 Interesting that the article doesn't mention vikings. Quote

Athos Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 No adventurers... :( Oh well. Mutant Dinosaurs, what in the world is that? As if regular dinosaurs were good (or bad) enough. And what is the deal with the light up eyes? I thought the blasted light up sabers were bad enough, just going to make the sets that much more expensive. The collectable minidinos are intriguing, though. Not suprising they were able to keep in under wraps with all the attention being focused on Star Wars and Harry Potter and to a lesser extent Vikings. I'm a little disappointed it isn't Adventurers, but maybe it will be a good theme. Steve Quote

Cutty Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 Mutant dinosaurs loose in the city, rampaging and generally wreaking havoc on everything minifig-civilisation calls good and worthy? YESSSS! But can someone here smell B-I-O-N-I-C-L-E creatures as well? Oh the anticipation before the first leaked pics is killing me (or is it just hunger? ;) )... Honestly, "light-up eyes" get my hopes up for "Brick-Built-Bestialities" but taking Legos love for mixing regular old-school minifig sets with bionicle-creatures into account cools down these hopes rapidly. Collectible mini-dinos? Sounds cool. Calls for some nice JP mocs. God, it would have been cool, if Lego announced this line when I was like 10 or 11 years old; that would have made a little Lego-lovin' Dino-freak VEEEERY happy....well, too late now. 11 years too late.... snefroe Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 TLC is talking about 50 years of Lego. please tell me they've got more than just this new theme... how 'bout rereleasing some major hits of the last 25 minifig-era, like the galaxy explorer,... Quote

sam89 Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 I think he's joking ;) Mister X says the set list is: 7474 - buggy 7475 - hummer 7476 - tank 7477 - helicopter He also says they're very Megablok-ish, and not very good. Let's hope we disagree ;) Quote

Aeturnus Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 Sounds as bad as alpha team is.Unless there are some good city parts in these sets. Not all kids want to blow up destroy and have giant monsters. ohwell what can we do but wait and see Quote
