Wedge09 Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Building a tower Master Architect Challenge Entry Guild of Avalonia After getting acclimated in the village and getting to know its inhabitants, Alexander decides to stay a bit longer than expected to Hidden Garden and during this period is aware of the project to build a wooden watch tower on the site of an old tower made of stone. Alexander doesn't hold back when asked for a hand to the work, and so he finds himself lend a hand in the construction of this wooden tower along with the other villagers. --------- I builded this shortly before the celebration in Mpya Stedor and then I waited to publish it. After a few weeks, I managed to publish it. All photos can be found here. This is my first entry for a contest in GoH, I hope all is alright and you enjoy my small work Quote
Gideon Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Building small is not necessarily a bad thing, I think you've done a very good job capturing the reconstruction feeling! The idea of building in wood atop a stone ruin feels appropriate and the tan/brown mix in the logs (wood/bark?) works very well! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Glad to have you enter Wedge I like the stream, especially the rapids, and the old stone foundation looks appropriately run-down Excellent fig posing too Quote

Yooha Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I love seeing more and more MAC entries as the deadline is coming :) The river and the flora is nice! Are you planning to build more building stages perhaps? I'd love to see how the tower will look like. Quote

I didn't think to build more stages but if you ask I'd like to build them, the problem is that now I have few pieces but maybe in the future I will try sometimes (after finishing the MOC on which I working in these days) Quote
de Gothia Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Looks very nice! The building site is lokking great! The litte river should however be some plates lower. Or the whole land mass some plates higher Right now it looks like a flood with the water so close to the land. Other than that it´s great! Quote

Thanks a lot De Gothia  About the river, I made it higher that the rest to make the set less plain, to break the plain; I plan that behind the upper part of the river the ground became itself higher Quote
Maxim I Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 This is a small MOC, but it is really a pleasure for the eye to see everything that is going on in here!! Quote
