VBBN Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Note: This is a SEQUEL to Shadows in the Deep http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=71027&st=0 CHAPTER 1 Toa Kopaka. Toa of ice. Or so, he used to be called. He thought back, to a time in his life when he was the only Toa of ice, the only one who could control the element that he called home. He didn't care much for anyone other than the people of his own region, his icy brothers. He was a savior and an idol to them. He then learned of the past, that there were Toa of ice in the past. They were just stories now. And what of the current day? Now, there were multiple Toa of Ice, all products of the war. All creations, that's what they were. Just over-glorified Matoran who were being thrown into the battles against the Plague. Then, there was Matoro. A foolish journey that ended up in his own death. The mask that he had searched for had been snapped in half, and it's power was back in the hands of the very being who it had been fused to all of these years. And now, all the ko-matoran and agori could talk about, was Matoro. Raise statues in his honor, remember him like he was ice itself. Kopaka was forgotten, now just a place in the stories of his people. Kopaka was always calm under the most stressful of situations. Perhaps it was this attitude that forced others to dislike him. Good, That's how he preferred it. The idea of working with his teammates repulsed him. He only assisted when the others needed him. In a way, he felt as though he was more powerful than his Toa Nuva brothers, they let emotion take control of them, lead them blindly into situations that they could not navigate away from. But for once, Kopaka had to lose his mind. His current situation, was unreal. it all began a few hours ago. They had dubbed it, the "Battle of IIrala Hill" Though the battle spanned a large area, IIrala Hll was the location that Spawn, king of the Plague, had landed. Kopaka had been battling on top of a mobile Plague structure. After killing the driver, the steeds which pulled it had lashed out, knocking the structure down. Kopaka had been trapped beneath the rubble, with no help in the area. His adaptive armor struggled to forge him a pickax that allowed him to bust free, just in time to see Spawn giving his speech. The foul creature had talked about a portal, an alternate existence, and that the Plague themselves were "good." They were lies. All of it. Or so he thought. At that moment, the portal on Anarae was activated, and began to pull them in. The other planets were destroyed. Somehow Spherus Magna was kept together. Was it a force of the Plague? Was it some structural support that had been fused when it was brought into one by Mata Nui? No, it had to have been something else. Kopaka had a vague idea, but he shuddered at the thought of it. There was one thing that Kopaka knew was a lie. The plague were certainly not good. As they were being pulled in, Spawn was laughing, just as the Plague were teleporting back into their vortexes, presumably back to their own universes. They had abandoned them. Kopaka didn't remember much of what happened after that, there had been a bright light, and then he woke up, to find himself lying down in the sand. He was no longer at IIrala Hill, he was in some random desert in the section that used to be Bara Magna. Everyone must have gotten scattered across the planet after the teleportation. At first, everything seemed normal, until Kopaka looked up to the sky. There was no sun. The daylight existed naturally. The alternate existence. His telescopic eye began to read data from the environment, and noticed that a cold was setting in. A sun was beginning to rise, and it was beginning to get dark. For the first time in his life, Kopaka shivered. *** Axonn kneeled to the ground. He was sad, angry, defeated. He knew Spawn had tricked him, had held him off from fighting until the portal was activated. He wondered what the real meaning was behind Spawn's intentions. If he wanted to find it, why had he left with the other Plague when it was activated? Next to him, was Toa Hahli, who was Helping Lewa to his feet. They were some of the only beings to still be at IIrala Hill. Everyone else was gone. Were they dead? Scattered? The answer was unclear. Everything was unclear. "Axonn.. Are you okay?" Hahli asked, moving close to him. He raised his hand to his face. His mask had been stolen by Vezon. He looked to the grass that he knelt on, and found the two halves of the Ignika. Spawn had snapped it in half, and Vezon had absorbed it's power. At this moment, he was glad Vezon was missing. He grasped the two pieces in his hands, and moved it up to his face. He didn't expect anything to happen, but they fused together, and it crashed onto his face violently. At first he closed his left eye, and contorted himself on the ground. half of the mask had gone black, the other half a faded silver. his massive hand grasped the sand, and he pulled himself up. "Not sure if that was a good idea, ax-brother." Lewa said, uneasy about the sight before him. "I feel...powerless. But I am alright. The mask barely has anything left, but it is still the spirit of Mata Nui, it will give me the vision I need, until I can get what is mine back. We have to help the others, gather as many as we can. We need to find out what happened, get reorganized. Then we have to find out what the Plague did." He stated, pulling his ax out of the ground. It was heavy, and felt right. At least he still had is strength. With that, he began to walk away, finding a Matoran nearby that was struggling to get up. "He's not alright. He looked upset, but when he put that mask on, he looked helpless." Hahli stated, watching him move away. Part of him seemed almost terrifying to look at, with the mask cracked in half and blackening. "Axonn is strong, he will not quick-fall. We must keep a similar attitude, stay alert sister." Lewa replied, placing his hand on her shoulder. "Where are you going?" "To find the other Nuva. You should do the same for your group. We can't waste any time." With that, Lewa placed his katanas on his back, which expanded into wings. He took a running jump and caught the wind, freely flying upwards to the skies. His moves were graceful, his stature confident. Even from his place high in the sky, the danger that loomed ahead went unnoticed. *** Vezon spat, the sand lodged in his teeth. he had woken up with his face planted in a dune of sand, and had spent the last hour searching for his staff, which had been buried under roughly 5 feet of sand. He had located the handle, and while attempting to dislodge it, lost his grip and fell backwards into the sand, once again tasting the sands of Spherus Magna. That brought him to this moment. After brushing himself off, he moved close to the staff once again. He grasped it, this time forcing the blade to unleash it's element of fire, brought alive by the power of the Ignika that ran through Vezon's body. It melted through the sand, turning to glass as the staff was removed. Satisfied, he began to examine his surroundings. "A desert! And not even a Toa of Water to dehydrate. What a shame." He said outload, to himself. Part of him hoped that someone would hear him and reply, the other part of him liked this solitary environment. The loud groan that came from the sand beneath him was his answer. He leaped back, just as the creature burst from the sand. It was the Skakdi Fusion. "Oh, what a treat it is to see you!" Vezon said with a smirk. He raised his hand, then clenched it into a fist. Before the beast could react, it was split apart into it's separate components, that had been fused together by a Makuta a while ago. There were some noticeable parts of previous creatures, like the Vortixx and the zyglak, but they were dead, dis limbered. 5 Piraka were slowly dying. They still had the form of their mutation, a head and a spine, who needed water to live. Now they were dying in the sand like a munu slug covered in salt. There was one thing he had to do. He reached down, grabbing the spine of Vezok and lifting him to the air. "Funny, isn't it. For the longest time, you consider me to be the weaker one. Now I will be the one to rip your eyes from your skull." Vezok, a disgusting mess of spine and gills, said nothing. He simply gagged and choked on the air. Vezon sent power through his arm, and Vezok went limp. He dropped him to the ground. "Maybe I will spare you some dignity, and not rip you to pieces. Consider this, a gift." Vezon turned away, and began his journey across the sands. It was after the first few steps that he realized his eyes were burning. Usually he did not have any reaction to the sun, but this was..different. In fact, as he scouted the sky, no sun existed. He glanced at the Kanohi Rode that was mounted atop his staff. "Let's hope you can get some straight answers about what happened." He spat once more, and walked off. Behind him, the body of Vezok began to form. *** Takanuva.. His arms and legs were chained, stretched out to a pole on either side of him. His head was hung low. it was heavy as his neck struggled to make it rise as he looked up, to find himself staring the 7 eyed Plague straight in the face. "I...what...happened? Who are you?" "Silence!" The plague screeched, swiping at Takanuva's face with a sort of whip that was fused to his arm. "Do not be so quick, Siiroak. Our house guest deserves some answers." Spawn said, entering the room. His voice had returned to a low rasp, with hundreds of other voices speaking at the same time. "You are in the universe of the Plague, Toa. You have just killed your friends." "I...what? The Toa Nuva?" "Your entire universe." Quote
