ER0L Posted July 17, 2013 Author Posted July 17, 2013 Just a great MOC ER0L! How's the optical illusion of dogs along the top row of blue or am I the only one who can see it? It's only in the top photo though. Loving the sliding roller door. Can't quiet figure how it works with that photo. Perhaps a front shot may help but it looks great and I definitely haven't seen it done like this before and I can't wait to give it ago. Quick question, how did you SNOT the top white 8L plates? Thanks for sharing another great MOC. Many thanks Aussie BJ! Those dogs ... I must admit, I hadn't seen them before, but you're right, from that angle there's the illusion of dogs there. The garage door is a larger version of the one within the town house (in fact the large one is the original design). What do you mean by "white 8L plates"? Ha, I see the dogs in that first photo now that you said that. The more I look at this MOC, the more I really admire it. The SNOT building to get the architectural details in that scale was brilliant. Alot of it I don't even know how it was done. The garage door mechanism, are those mini-fig hands inside headlight bricks? I like the way that it works, I'm going to try it out and use that somewhere. And I really found the road building style interesting, had not seen that before. This is a really talented build. Thanks a lot for a second comment, dvsntt, glad you like it that much. You're right, those are minifig hands inside headlight bricks plus a technic 1x1 because the hand doesn't fit in completely. Brickbuilt roads aren't a new idea, we (Altezza and me, that is) thought of a way to build a city by building parts of it that can be quickly put together for certain purposes and that is as versatile as possible. Another thought was that the use of baseplates and streetplates has more disadvantages than advantages (in our opinion), since you are forced to build within a rather rigid pattern (e.g. you can't extend a street the way you might need it in a special situation). But it's only a start, we'll see how it will turn out. Great MOC, I love the colour scheme. Many thanks Captain Settle! Can someone point out these dogs you speak of? I don't see it at all. They are hidden in the cheeze frieze at the gable. Excellent, athough I dont have any of those rail-corner-pieces... Many thanks Henrik. When I found out that my usual BL dealer didn't have them in white I was very pleased to find two of them within the FB. Expertly done there. Love all the fine details and snot technics. Thanks a lot The Dutch Guy, glad you like it! Quote
