Blakstone Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I would appreciate any sort of building to go with the Super Hero line. I like to MOC buildings, not vehicles, so this particular line appeals only for the minifigs. But the new Batgirl fig looks great. She would make an awesome additional to my collection. I don't have a Joker yet but I wonder if the Juniors Joker will have the same printing as the Steam Roller. Quote
wesker Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I like the idea of Catwoman being a hero in her own set. She really hasn't been much of a villain for a while now and more variety in Gotham heroes would be great instead of just getting Batman all the time. I'm kind of surprised that she's only appeared once so far in the Superhero line, considering she's arguably the most iconic character after Batman and Joker. Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I want more playsets too, and I am a little disappointed that we don't seem to be getting any for DC. Maybe we can get the Daily Planet in 2015 for MoS2, but that's still too long of a wait. Quote
RelicRaider Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 yes, buildings are always good, I think they went a bit overboard with the vehicles, especially on the batman sets. :P Quote
Colossus Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 In think it's a capital idea for LEGO to make small sets consisting of a Minifigure or two and an environment specific to that Minifigure. It would be a relatively cheap and effective way to expand on Gotham, Bludhaven, Metropolis, Coast City, whatever. I'm bored with LEGO's Batman and random Bat-vehicle sets. My son has more Batman Minifigures than Clone Troopers, and that's saying something. He gets bored with vehicles. Swooshing the Batplane or Batboat only goes so far, but he loves his playsets, like the USM lab set and Joker Fun house. He plays with them all day. When he gets bored, we swap out another set, like the Helicarrier and Daily Bugle. He's too young to make MOC's, but he can follow instructions to assemble some of the smaller sets. That's why I like the idea of the small environment/Minifigure.sets Quote
phanstasm Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 (edited) Thanks to those that posted the pictures of the new Batgirl and Joker minifigures a few pages back! Those look great!! A Fun Keeper I threw together and thought I'd share: a Joker (purple suit) comparison photo. Yes, I know there's the nice Arkham Asylum Joker, but my photo is focused on comparing the different versions of the purple suits, and how Lego has modified the Joker's purple suit over the years. Also, does anyone have a guess as to where Lego got their inspiration for the 2014 version's green bowtie? Based on a Google search, my guess is the 'Arkham Asylum' and 'Arkham City' video games. Technically twice as she also appeared in a very similar set in the first Batman line. But the figs are similar but with slight differences. And yeah we need more with her. Heck we need a Birds of Prey set with all girls. Batgirl, Black Canary, Huntress and Catwoman. Quote
just2good Posted October 8, 2013 Author Posted October 8, 2013 According to this site, which was right last year, the Junior Spidey set is called Juniors: Spider-Man - Spider-use in the car, and it's going to be around $13. The Juniors Batman set is Juniors: Batman - The defense, and is going to be around $33. Not sure if I should put it in the Junior topic or here, but I know y'all are dying for some Super Heroes news, so I'll leave it here. Quote
WaysofSorting Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 I'd like to see "The Thing" in a big-brick form like the Hulk. I'm also ready for a blitz of X-Men figures...though, maybe market research tells them that the demographic for Xmen is gone, stuck in the 90s and early Aughts and it'll never come. I'm stoked about the "Guardians of the Galaxy." If only because my fabuland raccoon are lonely and I think some interesting sets with cross genre appeal could come out of there. Not sure that I care so much about Capn America or Ant Man, but that sounds like the extent of 2014 Marvel. For 2014 DC, I haven't heard much. Has Wonderwoman been confirmed? If indeed a Justice League Movie is in the works for 2015, I think they'll probably have a very controlled rollout of DC hero sets to avoid "Buyer Fatigue" before the film...so maybe nothing good for 2014 for DC. I say that, yet all the cool previews have been of Flash and Batgirl. So who knows. Quote

The bowtie from your middle photo more resembles the one from '89 that Jack Nicholson wore. Quote

The bowtie from your middle photo more resembles the one from '89 that Jack Nicholson wore. Yeah it seems to be mostly based on Batman 89. The curious thing is that it doesn't quite match. While the colors are spot on the vest style and bow-tie style do not really match. Nor do the pants match (I doubt Lego would've printed a pattern like that, but I would think they would have chosen a different color at least). Because of this I almost think it may be slightly based on something else as well. But I haven't found anything yet that's similar. Although I suppose it's equally as possible that Lego just used some creative license. I was actually hoping for a 60's TV Joker. I like the coloring better in that appearance. It's a bit disappointing that Lego won't use any other shades of purple for Joker's suit. Quote
kris kelvin Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 (edited) I`m not a Super Heroes fan but I`ve seen some blurry pictures of new sets: Avengers logo on box 76018 - biggest set. Some kind of laboratory - 4 minifigs (Hulk for sure, Thor, one guy with wings and one with black hood) and strange "brick-built-minifig" with very big head (looks like minifig head but much bigger) 76017 - three minifigs (Cpt America for sure, two other guys - one is green) - olive green vehicle and motorcycle for Cpt America. Spiderman logo on box 76016 - Flying vehicle with two rotors, Spider man, other minifig and big (brick build olive green/green monster?) 76015 - Spider, Octopus, other guy and a car 76014 - Spider on some kind of tricycle, and other guy (green torso, yellow hands and yellow legs) Batman logo on the box 76013 - black plane and truck - 5 minifigures (hard to tell - Batman, Robin, Scarecrow(?) ant two others. 76012 - same like in first post. 76011 - black vehicle looks like a shark and two minifigures (looks like it`s placed under water) 76010 - small set - Batman and Penguin (in some of yellow duck vehicle) All sets in march. just2good Posted October 8, 2013 Author Posted October 8, 2013 (edited) Thanks 'kris'! Very odd... I was hoping the Avengers sets would be branded as Thor 2/Cap 2 sets, but wow, that's odd. And, looks like bigifig Green Goblin is coming indeed. I hate being wrong. I'm guessing the Avengers stuff is on the new cartoon. That's what is seems like. And what the hedge is up with the Batman descriptions? Edited October 8, 2013 by just2good Quote
kermit Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 (edited) Some of the sets on your list seem all to familar like the sets we got lastyear. For exmple the first one on the list sounds like the hellicarrier set. Another sounds like the nick fury set we got with spiderman and the flying car and another like the one with dr. doom and spidey. Not saying you are wrong about what you saw, it just looks like you are describing sets we got last year. Santaduckz Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Just got a batgirl. Looks great, but the hair colour is strange.. It isn't quite bright enough for brick red, but that is the closest colour to it. Probable because the headpiece is black with red painted on. Quote
Sam892 Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Hmmmm, sounds like MODOK perhaps?? Aim has been brought into the MCU so..... I was thinking it's more based on Avengers Assemble cartoon. MODOK is the second main villain ( next to Red Skull ). Another thing pointing towards this is the mention of a guy with wings, who is most likely Falcon. On the plus side of this the Thor in this set will most likely use the Winged helmet. Quote

What I want to know is who is this black hooded guy? I guess this means the sets are Comic/TV show based which is a pity really as a thor the dark world set would've been excellent. The hooded guy could be either grim reaper or if they are tying these in with thor 2 it could be Malekith. the captain America one sounds loosely based on the movie or it could be a comic based set with the green figure being a comic styled hydra soldier. The other figure could be red skull or maybe winter soldier. Modok sounds interesting enough certainly nice to have a new villain in a set. The Spiderman sets don't sound that interesting certainly if they are TV show based and not Amazing Spiderman 2 sets. The yellow and green minfigure sounds like sandman which is good news as he is one of the main villains and a member of the sinister six. The doctor octopus doesn't sound brilliant as we already have the black hair version. I hope it may be the variant from the videogame but that's unlikely. The other two people hopefully are Coulson and power man or white tiger and Coulson. the batman sets sound good as we already know about batgirl and joker and man bat however the shark underwater set??? is contradictory to what we were told about one of the sets being man bat and a helicopter and batman and someone else. I'm very glad to see that the goblin and his glider even in big fig form is getting into a set. the Spidey and octopus set could be a junior one mixed up with another set. Colossus Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Hmm...set 76011 contains sharks and a black underwater vehicle. I really hope it's Black Manta and any other character from the DCU besides Batman. Quote

From what I've seen the main villains of the show as well as MODOK and Red Skull are, Malaketh, Dr Doom and Justin Hammers super adaptoid. Out of those two it could be Malaketh or a really bad picture of Dr Doom. Quote
