With GL possibly coming and MM being released, my classic (and definitive Justice League IMO) shall finally be complete. Don't get me wrong, Cyborg is cool, but he seems more Teen Titans than the big leagues

I've got it........ Sinestro Corps Batman!!!

I wish LEGO did kinda themes within themes in each wave. I want a whole wave of DC sets based on Blackest Night (or do I mean Brightest Day? Whichever one is the one where everybody gets rings), another for Flashpoint, a Teen Titans/Young Justice centric wave with a set for each hero and their sidekick, there's just so many ideas that could spread across the whole DC side. I really wish that Lego would pull from some of them. I say, design these figures less like you're trying to make cheesy action figures, and more like character skins for Injustice or the Arkham games. When it comes down to it, do you really think the kids are going to care TOO much if "Sonic Mecha Suit Batman" is replaced by the Batman: Noel suit? Maybe they could help feed fans back into the top into the top of the machine; give them suits from famous story arcs to maybe get them interested in checking out the comics? Lego was really my first introduction to Batman, and now I've got a bookshelf full of comics and animated movies about the whole DCU.

My definitive Justice League would require Aquaman and Hal Jordan to be replaced with Hawkgirl and John Stewart, since I'm most familiar with the Unlimited incarnation of the team, but Hal and J'onn are going to round off my team, too. I always liked Hal more than John Stewart anyway. He's more creative with the ring. Now that the New 52 Justice League is nearly complete, just missing GL and Cyborg, it'll be kinda weird not to get him. If you were reuniting the Beatles, you'd still want Ringo there, right? He'll wind up alongside the Titans when we get them, though. That does seem to be his place.

Wait, so now that we have Green Lantern presumably in the line, who do we have left to complain about not being here? I'm going to suggest Blue Beetle and Booster Gold.

DC already had that idea, Sinestro Corp Batman is a real thing.

That's why I suggested the idea buddy.

Edit: Almost every superhero got a power ring in Blackest Night and Brightest Day so you're basically spot on. I totally agree with the Noel Batman even though I could use a mech suit Batman from The Dark Knight Returns. And Hal is the best, then comes Kyle Rayner, then John Stewart, and I won't even put Guy on my list.

I agree. I'd rather wait for a Teen Titans set to get Cyborg. I mean him being a part of the Justice League is interesting and all, but I like him better as a member of the Teen Titans.

Supergirl and Black Canary.

Is Hal wearing his New 52 suit or his classic? It's hard to tell but the only difference I can see with his classic and modern suit are the boots and the shoulders, with the New 52 having a more shoulder pad appearance. It would fit with the other League members except for Bats, Wonder Woman and Supes which still need that variant (maybe in a set with Darkseid as the 1st DC big fig? ;)

I'd like a Green Arrow to go with that Black Canary that I wouldn't have to spend hundreds of dollars for. Keep the hood but with the goatee.

Yup. I got the issue polybagged in my stash. I should have clarified: Don't give DC and Lego another reason for another Super Hero set that is really just another Batman set. I am rather desperate for DC and Lego to take a little risk and release a DC Hero set that has nothing whatsoever to do with Batman. The DC Universe is bursting at the seams with incredible characters with fantastic costume designs. I am probably wrong, but I get the impression that Lego is being somewhat complacent when designing these minifigs, when they could be using this opportunity to totally blow us away with their product. Superman with no red boots? The Flash with plain old red legs and half a helmet? I would love to see Lego go all out and print minifigs that give the impression, "You like our Martian Manhunter? Well, hold onto yer butts because you ain't seen nothin' yet." But, at the end of the day, it's really just a kids toy.

Yup. I'd have liked to see Rocket's ship in Lego form (and will probably build it!) but for all we know, in the context of the movie he may have it for 30 seconds when we first meet him and then it gets blown up. That would be enough for Hasbro or whoever has the action figure line, since they're pushing out a whole line of dozens of items for the movie. Lego, on the other hand, is only producing 3 sets. We're getting 3 spaceships between them, so that's still pretty awesome!

How do you know that he gets blown up?

I don't. I said, "for all we know." What I meant was, we don't know that Rocket's ship is actually going to play a big enough part in the film to justify a set made for it. We don't know nearly enough about the movie yet for people to be tossing around claims that Lego "don't care" how good of a job they do simply on the grounds we didn't get a set of Rocket Racoon's Warbird.

Guardians of the Galaxy trailer tomorrow night on Jimmy Kimmel with Chris Pratt!!!

*snip*

I'm not going to get my hopes up but I don't think the Brick Show would lie considering how many angry fans they'd have...

Yay!! can't see that...

That's true! i didn't understand. now i do

And i know Lego cares, i would just suggest someone from TLG to read Forums like these sometimes!

And i reall really know Lego cares! Have you seen the list of Hobbit sets we get this year!! :D

Awesome!

You have to give it to the coon when he brings a gun as big as him to a space fight.

Loving the new sets, not too happy about some of the designs on the xmen set. Storms boots off center, no tiara, no red jewel, not epic IMO. Cyc looks a bit plain and did anyone else think the blackbird might make a great batsub modded?

And we are still getting very little printing on the minis of the Superhero line specially leg/boot printing, compared to say Starwars or chima, what up with that.

GL YEAHHHHHHHHHH! (maybe??? - shhhh, don't scare the lego marketing folks they might keep him for 2020 or something  )

As for the leg printing debate, I think lego don't feel the same need to do it with superheroes because if the use the batman mask, pretty much the only character that will suit it is batman. Marvel and DC fan recognise the key features and its only when you look in detail you realise that they don't always make the best looking minifigures. As for star wars, the specific characters aren't a well defined meaning more work is needed on the costume to make the character recognisable. With chima, again lego want to create a brand new identity like with ninjago where they can release TV shows etc based apon it. Because it didn't exist before lego made it, they need more character identification which means more leg printing

You know Swifty I think it's the first time I've heard it put in those terms, thank you for giving me a fresh well rounded argument instead of the usual 2 answers I've seen:

A-they know even if the figs aren't that great and detailed they'll sell just the same and they can make better versions of the same design later and collect some more cash or

B- It's a price thing, licenses cost more money this one just ins't mature enought for large investments in printing etc etc.

I call the first the Conspiracy theory and the second the scrooge theory.

But I'm afraid I just don't buy any of the three (like your the best so far), there is no excuse for not doing their absolute best everytime. I mean take wolvie for example the new one could have used some work, maybe some boots by using brown legs with burnt yellow on the legs, didn't need to be a big deal and the quality of the product and demand would go up. The mask is not perfect but at least they made it to fit the head in a way that is pleasing and not give the batman head effect. Nova is a good example he is simple but it shows effort and the mask works perfect both in scale and alignment.

PS: And yes I know I'm a printing snob, but it's something that really bugs when I'm customizing, no good boots assortment.

^ I am starting to think that Lego are planing this line for many years and want to give them room to make the figs better next time so we will need to buy them again. Although this would mean that they are thinking about afol.

I think that DC is way behind compared to Marvel. DC keeps having Batman in every set and some JLA members helping him fight against a "Batman" villain. Compared to Marvel where you get different heroes like Falcon and Hulk fighting against MODOK and Taskmaster which is something unexpected!

The mech thing was more for poking fun at the ridiculous action figure variants they make, but I'd be into a Frank Miller-style armored Batman, as long as they did it right. Something a teensy bit more like the Power Suit from Lego Batman 2 and less like Power Armor Lex Luthor. I honestly don't care what whether it's Noel Bats or Incorporated Batman, just so long as it's a suit from something and not just "Batman's Arctic Suit" or "Batman's Scuba Suit". I've got a soft spot for Guy Gardner. He's quite the jerk, but I still enjoy it when he pops up. Plus he was one of the first Green Lanterns I was introduced to, thanks to Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Plus his costume would be cool to see in Lego format. I've never really gotten to know Kyle, so I usually push him to the side in my Green Lantern pile. But let's face it, we all want Kilowog.

Supergirl and Black Canary.

Yes and yes. I can't wait to see those two come out, but Black Canary should probably wait until after a public Green Arrow. He seems like he deserves to see the light first.

I think there is one trait Lego should take from action figures, though. Y'know how lots of times a line of action figures will have a piece of another figure, so once you buy the whole wave of figures, you get another exclusive one? I think Lego should try that, but in a subtle way. Lego should try that as a way to boost incentive for the AFOLs, so we can get more lesser-known characters (I never realized how much I want Deadman and Spectre minifigs until I thought about this) and Lego can sell more sets. Plus, once again, it can spark the kids' interest in the character. It's a win for us, a win for Lego, and a possible win for DC comics.

After two years of floundering, I think this wave of Marvel Superheroes has gotten it right. The sets look great---The X-Jet makes a lot of use with its small piece count, so I'll feel justified in spending $50. I think this will be the first time (besides some of the first wave) that I'll be buying not because I'm a collector, but because I'm actually interested. :classic:

I know next to nothing about the GotG theme but it looks interesting and something that might appeal to me. One question though... Who are the Sakaraan? I tried to do a search for them and next to nothing came up except a picture of some bug like creatures. Are they some new race for the movie? I saw the Hasbro picture of one of them and it looked incredibly dull. Like a bland Cobra Trooper in black. We can't really see the Lego minifigure version because he is driving the ship? Does anyone more familiar with the GotG story have more info on these guys?

They're not traditionally Guardians of the Galaxy-related. In the comics, after Hulk was deemed too dangerous to be kept on Earth, they jettison him into space. They attempt to send him to a peaceful planet to live out the rest of his days, but he gets caught in a wormhole and lands on the planet Sakaar; a savage world where Hulk is forced to fight as a gladiator. Sakaarans are the native peoples of Sakaar. Their role in this film, however, is currently unknown, but it can be assumed that they're working with Ronan. It's possible in this continuity Sakaar is a part of the Kree Empire (whom Ronan works for).

Do a search for "Planet Hulk" and "World War Hulk" they feature prominently in those stories.
