The difference is my 2012 version has a BLACK CODE 421J2，this purple has a 338J3.

Yeah I agree that's got to be a new one. The face has a completely different expression with the mouth and different eyes plus the pant colour. Hopefully Thor and cap will have new designs also.

As do I! I think due to the metallic look the design seems to have on the image that that design would work well in a movie. It looks a bit like the same sort of material for the suit as captain America's and spider man's. Yes that would do well in a set especially with the brown and yellow. Who knows that may turn up in DOFP as we haven't seen all of it and his future suit looks slightly similar. Or he could use it in the past.

That'd be lovely! there is certainly enough superheroes minifigures for a marvel book and a dc book. Also we would hopefully get an exclusive figure with each book. That though is just speculation at this point sadly.

Actually it has been sold on taobao.com(Chinese version ebay) for a long time, maybe since the 2012 hulk released, At least 1 year.

I think it is the 2014 Hulk and LEGO has produced the 2014 HULK long time ago. It means a set with a HULK has been decided long time ago.

That 'new' Hulk has me puzzled - there's no way a 2014 figure was produced in 2012 and kept on the shelf for years...

...it's either a prototype (of the 2012 figure) or a knock off. A knock off with a 'lego' stamp is a concern for purist collectors such as myself.

I'm sure it's official, but it could be a prototype. A Hulk with purple pants was produced for SDCC, albeit without a face print... who knows. I just don't think it's a knockoff at this point. Maybe it was originally a prototype but they decided to use it for the 2014 set.

I'm more of the mind that it's a knock off. People have been clamouring for a purple pants hulk since the tan pants version got released... then it just turns up and apparently they've been available for over a year and nobody knew?

If that was official it would have surfaced sooner and they'd have been selling for a lot more on the western eBay sites... That's just my opinion.

The printing on the Chinese superhero figures is pretty poor up close... just check out the versions on eBay... nowhere near sharp enough. That said the Black and Gold Iron Man might be worth picking up as an addition to the Hall of Armour if it's still quite cheap.

Well it's clear that this Hulk isn't based off of Avengers Assemble because he is wearing purple pants. So hopefully this will mean they do not base Thor off of Avengers Assemble, which would mean they could give him his helmet.
