vriverajr3 Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Exactly! Two of my son's favourite characters in a set aimed just for his age group! 2 of my sons favorite characters as well!!! My sons current spidey is Getting a bit scratched up from all the playing with haha, so this set will be perfect to get him a new one and a venom he doesn't have yet but really wants :) I'm an adult and lovin' the set. I think it might be the best spider-man car ever haha. Awesome. Yea, my post was more aimed at the people that said this set and the other junior sets looked bad and didn't appeal to them. I thinks it's a cool little car as well :) Quote
montgocloud Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 I checked the preliminary photos again and it looks as if red hips Spidey is the new norm for 2014 (except for the Ock set, of course). Also, I added red hips to one of my Spider-Men and the result is extremely bizarre. Like I said before, they're just overkill. Quote
TenorPenny Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Little boys and girls will have plenty of fun pitting Venom against Spiderman, I'm sure. Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 One thing that does not make sense to me is , why is Venom a minifig and Green Goblin a maxifig when their both the same size on USM. Quote
Faefrost Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 One thing that does not make sense to me is , why is Venom a minifig and Green Goblin a maxifig when their both the same size on USM. Venom is technically a shapeshifter who can change and adjust his size. Whereas the Ultimate Universe and USM Green Goblin is more of a Hulked out Super Steroid type. Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Most the the time in comics or shows(except Spiderman 3) ,Venom is always a hulking size compared to Spiderman. Quote
Faefrost Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Most the the time in comics or shows(except Spiderman 3) ,Venom is always a hulking size compared to Spiderman. That hulking Venom is more a modern artistic interpretation of the character. He was originally slightly larger than Spider-Man (muscular body builder Edie Brock) but over the years artists keep drawing him bigger and bigger. I think the version of him they used in Thunderbolts a few years back seemed 12' tall and maybe 20' wide at the shoulders. It starts to get ridiculous. Quote
Legoman123 Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Sorry if this has been asked, but is Venom this year the same as the one we got last year? Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Yes he is, just minus the tendrils. Quote
just2good Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 We're still waiting on the Steam Roller set, but the three regular ones and the Juniors Batcave are online. Quote
CM4Sci Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 HR images of the Riddler set and box are here and here, courtesy of Walmart.ca! -Sci Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Thanks for that CM4S! I am still comepletely underwhelemed by this set, and this wave, was it so hard to give Riddler a new molded crane? Quote
4WD Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Thanks for the image CM4S! I used to dislike that set for some reason, but it actually looks great here (in a clear image, especially!) I think the dragster is great and the Batmobile is astounding. Plus, we get Flash and a well-updated Riddler. Freddy Bricker, I do echo your thoughts on the cane, but the colour sure beats the red crowbar he had in the Funhouse. Quote

Yeah, but I used it as a red crowbar, not a cane, but of course because of Flash I will get this set anyways, thank you Lego for that. Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Here are some clearer images of the Penguin, Man-Bat, and Juniors sets too: Penguin-1 Penguin-2 Man-Bat-1 Man-Bat-2 Juniors-1 Juniors-2 That new Robin head.... Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Here's a link to the Junior Batcave set http://i-store.walmart.ca/images/WMTCNPE/NewImages/3a4e7d34c30248f1b3ea7dc5db4d0458/Enlarged_.jpeg.....note the very large printed part....ouch that's going to hurt on Bricklink eh ? Depending on price.....it might be a cheap way of scoring The Joker. Quote
strangely Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Dick Grayson Robin YAY! I missed out the first time around, so I'm happy to have him. Now if the Robin in the steamroller turns out to be Damian Wayne I will be sold on this wave completely (Even despite some less than great builds). The juniors set is surprisingly good, if that turns out to be printing instead of stickers I will be truly impressed. Quote
SlimShady Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 It's nice to see some better pictures. Yeah, this year's going to be awesome! Quote
Aanchir Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Thanks for that CM4S! I am still comepletely underwhelemed by this set, and this wave, was it so hard to give Riddler a new molded crane? It wouldn't be hard, but I think it'd be a bit wasteful. I think using a crowbar for his riddle cane is quite a clever solution, to be honest. Every theme only gets a certain budget for new molds, and I think that budget should be spent on things that actually NEED them, not just things that would be slightly more stylish as new molds. Yeah, but that still doesn't change my views on the wave, I love the Penguin set, and dislike all the others. Batgirl for me is the only nice figure, and she wasn't given her leg printing. But you do bring up a good point, it wouldn't be necessary , but would it really be out of budget? Other than Batgirls cowl, Flash's mask, and Batman's cowl, there aren't any new molds in this wave and I just feel it was a missed opportunity, that's all. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I do love that new Robin in the Juniors set and the lighter blue Batman. But looking at Burt Ward's Robin vs this one, it looks like he had a black mask originally, so I may just modify mine to fit. Although I do still want that figure. As for the rest, I am excited. Super Heroes is the only theme this next year I am actually planning on getting for myself. LEGO movie and SW weren't as appealing as I originally hoped. I will pick up Friends/Disney for my daughter, but I might be saving some money this next year. Maybe I can get caught up on exclusives before they disappear then. Quote
The Pearson Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I'm not really sure why but the Juniors sets look good. Honestly, they'll probably be the only ones that I pick up. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Love that Juniors set, and I think that's the one I'd be the most happy with--which is sad actually. I don't care too much for that new Robin in the Juniors set though, his face is just weird; just like Nightwing, their expressions seem to be forced, like they're at gun point or something! Most likely I'll end up getting all the sets though, if only for the characters. Sigh. Quote
CM4Sci Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Oh, the thread was renamed. Wouldn't 'Super Heroes' be better? -Sci Quote
