kermit Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 It was confirmed at SDCC that it's $30 in the US. Now that is some good news. Quote
BrickmanJ Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Looks nice, but I think they should make Thor: The Dark World sets, and, when the movie comes out, Captain America: The Winter Soldier sets. Personally, I'm more of a Marvel guy. Quote
strangely Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 I would have wanted Thor the dark world minifigures, but not sets. Having seen the movie I envision that line of sets would have looked as underwhelming as the Iron Man 3 stuff. If there were sets I'd either want Malekith's ship or the Asgard palace, and both of those things would have looked awful at a price point under $100 dollars. And locations like the Bifrost or Greenwich wouldn't have made it just because of Lego's aversion for location based sets (And the Bifrost is too complicated, despite how awesome it looks). I guess they could have done battle packs, but I really don't buy those. I'm sad to miss out on minifigures for the movie, but not sad to miss out on what probably would have been some mediocre sets. Maybe they at least could have made that Asgard skiff, that probably would have looked awesome. Quote
adotnamedstud Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 I'd want some TWS sets. I know now isn't the time to be wishing for the impossible BUT It'd be great to have something along the lines of http://www.flickr.com/photos/94823306@N03/10918563433/lightbox/ <-- That... Anyways If we can't get any TWS sets or Thor sets I'll be fine because CM4S and Just2good announced the Avengers Assemble sets to us and they have Captain America and Thor. So I'll be happy with it either way. Quote

DJ Bricks Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Yeah, so long as they give us new variations for Cap and Thor I'll be happy. Well, the alternative suit for Cap in the video game is pretty much his AA suit. Thor will have a simplified version of his movie one and beardless. An a DC note, why is there still no pics of the Steam Roller? Seriously! ? Quote
RaincloudDustbin Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 There have been no SR pics probably as its an exclusive? Quote
just2good Posted November 19, 2013 Author Posted November 19, 2013 There have been no SR pics probably as its an exclusive? Nah, I'm pretty sure it isn't. It's just that some sets get released later than others. This one will probably be out mid-January. Quote
Sam892 Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 There have been no SR pics probably as its an exclusive? If it was an exclusive then we wouldn't have even seen the prelims for it. We never saw prelims for Jokers Funhouse or Baxters robot Rampage or any of the Star Wars exclusives. So by just seeing the SR prelims, I think LEGO has stopped walmart from posting more pics. Quote
Legoman123 Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 I really hope that Captain America has a removable helmet like Flash. Quote
Navy Trooper Fenson Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 I really hope that Captain America has a removable helmet like Flash. Sadly no. He looks practically identical to the existing Cap fig, just in regular blue. I think it´s the same design as in the last two Avengers cartoons. Quote

Navy Trooper Fenson Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 (edited) Yeah, not black or gray? There are black spots on the torso where the armpits would be. He looks like the pic below just with the belt having four pouches that are moved directly next to the belt buckle. Edited November 19, 2013 by Navy Trooper Fenson Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 There is an image of the "classic" Cap over at Brickipedia. I hope that LEGO prints the face a little better than before. That was the main reason I didn't pick up the Avenging Cycle when it was out. Quote
strangely Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 (edited) I Am Batman... Keep dreaming... There is an image of the "classic" Cap over at Brickipedia. I hope that LEGO prints the face a little better than before. That was the main reason I didn't pick up the Avenging Cycle when it was out. I'm okay with that design. I would have rather had a removable mask. It occurs to me how Iron Man is the only Avenger (With the exception of Hulk) that actually has a specially molded piece to wear on his head. Everyone else has awful hairpieces/masks that aren't particularly fitting at all. I greatly hope they rectify that in the future. LOTR and Hobbit have had an onslaught of new hairpieces and yet I can't get a hairpiece that works for Thor and Black Widow. Edited November 19, 2013 by strangely Quote

Its a shame Lego hasn't released the Hollywood Starlet and Trendsetter hairpieces from the CM line in dark orange. Both would be perfect for the Avengers and Cap 2 versions of Black Widow. Quote

And could be done really well with the molds from Lego's Viking's line. A battle seen like Thor fighting the big rock guy at the begining would be cool. Just do a constraction type bot frame ala the Superman Lex Luthor robot, and use the stone face from Hero Factory. Quote

Maybe brighter colors is Lego's new way of avoiding thatflesh pproblem Quote
KingPixels Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 That Cap looks exactly like AA Cap, like i said before. Maybe brighter colors is Lego's new way of avoiding thatflesh pproblem You mean the problem of flesh colours looking wrong when printed? Quote
TheLegoDr Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 That could be a good idea. Dark blue and a lighter skin tone didn't work too well. And most people's chests have darker skin showing than their face. Too bad there wasn't a way to make the front of the torso a lighter color and then you'd have to "print" the darker color everywhere else. It would get crazy expensive, but don't we deserve it? I will more than likely get that new Cap, even though I have the other one. I tend to buy all of the minifigures of the Super Hero line-up and almost all of the sets. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 I personally don't see the love for a Captain America helmet in the fashion of Flash. I think it would look too giant/bulbus like it does on the new Flash anyways. Really, I think I'd be happy if they just fixed the face printing problem on him (And I suppose if he was regular blue like his classic apperance in the game; just for a change). On the subject of Thor, I am sad that they didn't make any sets, even a small one, since the minifigures would have been amazing. The Dark elves would have looked spectacular, and would have fit well with other themes (Like LotR/Castle). Oh well; I think I just need to get use to the fact that it seems Lego does not know what to do with their Superheroes line. Quote
jonwil Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 (edited) Mostly, I hope we get Hulk in a set that doesn't cost $100 in Australia (we had a ridiculous 2x markup on the Hulk Hellicarrier set when it was sold here and it never seemed to go on sale either :( ) Also I wish the red bomb things in the Junior Batman set weren't miss-matched (red top, dark red bottom), it just looks stupid.
