Though I am always happy to see diversity in a licensed Lego line, this version of Power Man does nothing for me.

Oh, and add me to the list of AFOLs who think the Joker Steamroller looks perfectly good. The new Batplane, however, is simply ugly.

Wow that Mary Jane looks great, thanks for that guys. I can't say I'm too happy with Powermans look, but that's only because of the lack of hair. Either way these figs look great. I honestly think Mary Jane and Powerman are enough to make me buy the spidercopter, I mean how bad could it be right?

Those all look good. MJ is so cute! Power Man is nice, though to be honest I only know of him by name, since I refuse to watch Ultimate Spiderman. Joker, as I had said before, is nice, and while he is a repeat character, his new design is worth seeing him again. His henchman is ok too, mostly because of his face--it's different then the last one. However his construction torso is not so useful. Overall, these seem to be the best of the new superhero figs so far.

Why does that Power Man have darkblue jeans on? He needs to have black trousers, right?

It looks like the seller switched legs of Power Man and MJ.

I don't think that Joker's steamroller is so bad, either. I have a few small nitpicks, but it is really Batman's plane that makes the set so bad. What were they thinking?

Of course the spider-copter has a couple of good figures to make the set desirable... :hmpf_bad: Still not sure about it though. Even if the copter turns out alright, a lot of the set's budget probably went into producing that atrocious Green Goblin big-fig....

Well, ive rung up enough Avengers Assemble mechandise in the past 2 hours to tell you that Hulk had purple pants in the pictutes on the box and also concept art for tje show.

And the others look like the show, thor maybe but i just thought Robin had a hood in the prelims but has hair in finals, could we see something similar with Thor?

So the "concept art" was just how these characters have looked for the past 50 years? If they are based off of the same material as the action figures, then Thor wouldn't be the design from the video game (which I'd be okay with, to be honest). Also, it seems like the figures came out this Fall, while the LEGO sets aren't coming out until Spring next year. I'm not sure if that would be enough time to iron out any small inaccuracies, but all of the USM figures have been pretty close to their counterparts so far (except JJJ, and maybe MJ, I guess) so I don't know why this show would be any different. Unless there is a label that says so (which there probably will be...), then I guess that they technically aren't AA figures. :shrug_confused:

MODOK in the game doesn't look like he does in the show, at least not the images I'm seeing. AA actually managed to make him look worse than usual. The other characters (Cap, Red Skull, Falcon, and Task Master) pretty much have their classic designs in the show, so nobody would ever know the difference.

I also think TT would know if Thor was going to get a helmet and rendered it, but I guess that it's still possible that he will. I do think that this year's SH sets has a lot of new molds already though, with at least Flash, Batgirl, and Electro's headpieces, Green Goblin, MODOK, possibly a new hairpiece for Power Man (though I doubt this, as cool as it'd be) and then we don't even know what Guardians of the Galaxy and X-Men will bring. With all of this, Thor's helmet, like Riddler's cane, was probably cut.

When i first put the pictures of powerman and mary jane, i noticed the legs were wrong. The powerman minifigure had dark blue legs but really has black legs in the game.

While the mary jane minifigure had black legs, but really has dark blue legs in the game. So the seller definetly switched them up.

Taskmaster in his classic blue/orange/white outfit was in USM last season in an episode that also featured Deadpool. But I don't think he has been in any Avengers episode yet. Maybe TLG and Marvel had plans for Taskmaster to be included in a USM set, but ran out of room after the Minifig was already in production? Or, they felt Taskmaster was a better fit in an Avengers set. I don't know, I'm just spitballing here.

Does Powerman always have shades on? I've never heard of this character, but I welcome more skin colors. I would love if one side was a normal head for my castle custom figures instead of sunglasses only. It really limits him for me. I'll pick him up either way, but I probably won't display him with the rest of them.

Power Man is what Luke Cage calls himself sometimes. In USM, he does wear the shades all the time when in costume.

I'm hoping Lego actually makes a new hairpiece for Power man.

I doubt it. He was probably bald in concept art that Marvel gave Lego. And he was bald in the game.

He has hair in the prelim. So I don't think it's impossible. Plus Flash and Batgirl don't match their game counterparts, so it's not really a set rule that they have to.

LOVE that Flash! Wish they'd make a Captain America mini fig with a similar helmet WITH wings or print of wings on it. The Avengers one was kind of lacking in this respect. Would anyone else like to see this happen?

I agree, powerman's face is awesome but the rest is MEH. Also, just now I noticed how the majority of the females in this theme are redheads

I think a number of well known genre defining artists over at Marvel, for a number of years, really had a bit of a redhead fetish. John Byrne definitely tops the list for this, but it goes back well before him. DC was never quite as bad for this. The one Red Headed hostage, err heroine we have from them, Lois Lane, is normally brunette. We just got her in red because of Amy Adams. (If anything DC's crews fetishes tend to be more classically fetishy. Like fishnets and bustiers.)

I'm glad they at least are including women pretty regularly, though variety is still a problem. On the plus side Mary-Jane's head seems to have black/brown eyebrows instead of red, so at least it has a wider range of use. I was really hoping we'd see Vicki Vale for DC this year, after all she's a relatively important character in the Batman mythos. And hopefully down the line we'll see a comic Lois Lane. The Amy Adams one turned out to be really awful...

And I'm still holding out hope we might see Gwen Stacy as an exclusive minifigure or in an exclusive set to promote ASM2. The video game design was spot on and I'm just waiting for enough characters to be released so I can do an ASM #121 moc. I get the feeling I'll be waiting a long time for a comic Green Goblin though...

TT saw the sets and figures so they could use them in the game. So Power Man is accurate to they game.

In prelims Damian had a hood, but in the sey he has hair. Mary Jane had. And all black torso and Hermy's hairpiece

I too, get the feeling I will be waiting a long time for a comic green goblin. I also think I'll be waiting eternity for any JL members that aren't either rehashes, or part of the Bat family. So here's to hoping TLG gives us a summer wave for DC, I really do think they'll need it.

Hey guys, I've been following this thread for awhile now and decided to finally toss in my two cents about all of this. I'm a pretty big comic fan (particularly DC, but Marvel's been catching my attention more and more recently), so this theme has specifically caught my attention. I've been a LEGO fan for 7 years (a little less than half the time I've been alive, fyi).

I'll start with DC:

Overall, I'm excited for this wave. The new Batman/Flash set looks pretty cool, and while the new variants for Bats and Riddler aren't great in their current state, they'll make for good customs of each character. Flash is one of my favorite characters, so the new fig can't come quick enough for me. Although, as many of you have said, Flash could really use some boots. He looks off without any extra yellow. The Penguin set is pretty neat, albeit not a high priority for me as someone who'd rather have characters than sets. I'll buy it when the opportunity presents itself, but not immediately for sure. Man-Bat's debut set is alright, with the obligatory Batcopter looking like overkill for little ol' Man-Bat. I love Nightwing, so getting him'll be a treat, although I plan on replacing his hair. Man-Bat could've been better, but luckily LEGO's provided us with plenty of replacement Bat-parts in oter sets. The Steamroller is a must-have for me. I love the new Joker, I love Batgirl, and most of all I love Damian Wayne. I'm a huge fan of Robin, so I'm not going to complain too much about Robin variants. The same old out-dated Batman is getting old, though. I really don't like the all black costume or the yellow background on the Bat-symbol. I much prefer the classic blackand gray with Batman: TAS symbol. The lack of any Batman-free sets kinda sucks, but I can deal with that as long as it's not just Batman in every one. Of course, I'd love to see a Teen Titans or Young Justice set and Green Lantern, Cyborg, and Martian Manhunter minifigures (plus many more) but until these characters are proven to be as safe a bet financially as the Caped Crusader, we'll have to wait for them to round off the Bat Family (hopefully with Red Robin and Red Hood) for them to become Batman's sidekicks.

On to Marvel:

I'm pretty disappointed by the lack of Winter Soldier and Dark World sets as well. Thor 2 is kinda understandable, though, given he's not quite as popular as the rest of the Avengers and the movie doesn't really offer much in the way of LEGO's usual vehicle-vs-vehicle sets. I'm especially disappointed by the Winter Soldier's skip, because I actually really like Cap, and the Winter Soldier looks pretty BA in the trailers. The Spider-Man sets are going the way of the Batman sets: ridiculous vehicle-on-vehicle action with a special guest. Of course, I'd still like to get them all, mostly for the new charcters introduced in them. I'm not a fan of the cartoon, but I'm all for Nova, Luke Cage, and any other B list heroes they can give us. Hopefully Daredevil and Punisher make their way to USM. The Doc Ock variant is really great, hopefully a Green Goblin one will come around next wave. I'm not too into Ultimate Green Goblin, but I'd like to see more Big Figs, so baby steps I suppose. They really seem to be tackling their lack of villains, with Electro, Green Goblin, Red Skull, MODOK, and Taskmaster (I may have forgotten someone) coming soon, all of which will be pretty cool. I'm definitely looking forward to MODOK and Red Skull. Red Skull's tank doesn't matter a whole lot to me, if I like it I'll keep it, if not I'll have some scrap. The Lab sounds super cool, the more locations we can get the better! A Hulk variant would be cool if it's true, and the classic Cap sounds great. I think someone mentioned Falcon, which would be awesome. The new Mary Jane is awesome and definitely more motivation to buy the GG set. Gaurdians sets will be cool, especially if the minifigs look like their video game counterparts, but I'm most excited about new X-Men. It also looks like we'll be waiting quite awhile for a Hulkbuster, and even longer for sets not based solely on movies and cartoons. I mean, at least go halfway and make something for Agents of SHIELD (this idea looks great: lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/50376 ) or the new Netflix series. Meh, whatever.

This whole wave of Superheroes stuff sounds pretty cool, although none of it's too surprising. This was a lot of very safe bets and repeated ideas, which certainly won't cut it forever. Eventually, though, LEGO, DC, and Marvel are going to get a little more comfortable with taking chances with lesser known characters that aren't Batman or in a movie.
