CM4Sci Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 The content has been removed, so no fun there. This is the 2nd time I clicked on a link from that site where the content has been removed, maybe TLG is cracking down on these type of things? Do you not see the image? -Sci Quote

DJ Bricks Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Nice. Very obvious. They are based on Avengers Assemble. Hate that Skull and the Agent are constantly angry Quote
KingPixels Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Hate that Skull and the Agent are constantly angry I just came here to say that. Really quite annoying. Quote
Suspsy Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Angry pretty much suits the Red Skull to a tee. Quote
wesker Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I like Red Skull's angry expression. Wish the HYDRA Agent was more neutral though. Quote
montgocloud Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I'm fine that Skull and the Hydra Agent are angry. I mean they are villains after all! They'll look fine angry in a display and I'm sure they'll play fine angry with the kids. Totally fine in my opinion, but I understand the desire for a more neutral expression. Quote
J.V.D. Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I am not an expert on the matter ; though I know some main characters like Superman, Batman and Spiderman, superheroes were never that popular here... We had other comics. A wider range of heroes and side characters I only know because of the recent movies. So maybe somebody more familiar with the topic can explain me why Red Skull and the Hydra soldier on that picture have different colors of uniforms? Shouldn't they be both black (like in the Captian America movie) or both green like in the classic comics? Or is there another story-line where you have them in this combination? Personally I would have prefered to see them both black ( dark grey?) or both (dark) green.. Quote
thefyfe Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Hydra are still green in the comics and skull has been wearing modern black nazi officer uniform for a while now in the comics too. They look great!cant wait for further pictures to be released! Quote
Robianco Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Those figs look really nice. I think TLG are making some superb figures across the board this year... Star Wars, Super Heroes, LOTR and Hobbit... so many really well done figures. I'm actually more concerned about the builds themselves though... Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 So Young Justice is possibly getting a live-action TV series on the CW based on the cartoon (http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/12/02/young-justice-the-live-action-tv-series-for-the-cw/) Do you think this could improve the chances of getting Young Justice-based sets? Maybe if the DC TV Universe expands more like this other TV shows like Arrow and Agents of SHIELD could get sets? Quote

Maybe if the DC TV Universe expands more like this other TV shows like Arrow and Agents of SHIELD could get sets? I think it depends on the audience, so far all the DC TV shows are more adult aimed. Arrow isn't really appropriate for kids, and other announced DC shows most likely won't be either like Gotham and Constatine. Maybe Flash but since it's a spin off of Arrow I doubt it. The other problem is that all of the DC TV shows are on Cable TV, which limits the amount of people potentially seeing it. If the Shows are linked to the DC Cinematic Universe then we may get Young Justice sets, but we don't really know anything about it yet. Quote
Dadster Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I have prelims here. -Sci Thanks much! And to you as well "just2good". I'm loving the hydra goon. Talk about an army builder... Quote
gedren_y Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I don't know if anyone reported this, but MegaBloks seems to have gotten the Amazing Spiderman movie license, possibly through Columbia Pictures (like the issue with Fox and X-Men). This means probably no Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary or Martin Sheen in Lego. The sets I saw are absurd, having nothing to do with the film. Not even minifigure scale. Those are from the old sets, from the first movie. We don't know for sure (At least I don't), but I think there's something to the fact that the new movie Electro appears in the Lego Marvel game. Perhaps that means Lego now has the licence? Either way, those seem like the old sets. Quote

Those sets do appear to be old though, I doubt that Megabloks would release sets 4/5 months before the new film. Also wouldn't they have The Amazing Spider-man 2 written on them? Instead of just The Amazing Spider-man. Quote

P12-04-13_09.36 by gedren_y, on Flickr Those are from the first ASM, so those don't really mean anything for the second film. What we do know is that Disney acquired the merchandising rights for Spider-man. I feel that its unlikely that Disney would give Megablocks the rights to ASM2. It wouldn't make sense to let Megablocks create a product that directly competes with Disney's own products. Granted I don't think we'll see actual sets for it, other than perhaps an exclusive set or just some sort of minifigure exclusive polybag. But the odds aren't great. Though even if they didn't make sets now they'd still have the ability to later on. Quote

The video game Electro is voiced by David Sobolov, according to IMDb, but the character link gives the Amazing Spiderman 2 Electro image. Answered below. Arrow and sometime Flash (will) air on the CW which isn't a cable channel… I agree that the chance of sets based off of any of the rumored or airing DC TV shows is pretty much zilch and understable. Also, Gotham is supposed to air on Fox, also not a cable channel. As long as we're on the topic of sets based on TV Series- Although an AoS set wouldn't surprise me a lot I doubt any other Marvel or DC TV series will get sets, and sadly none of the Marvel Netflix series next year... But, then again there's always a chance at any Marvel TV Series, I'd say more so than DC, but that's doing a lot of guessing on my part! All I really want is a live-action minifigure version of Green Arrow, Black Canary, and Flash (live-action Superheros, especially DC's, tend to be darker colors instead of bright, hence why I'd like a live-action version of Flash even though we'll be getting a Flash in '14) from the aforementioned TV series. The rest I can live without. :P Edited December 4, 2013 by The_Creator Quote
strangely Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 (edited) I know the sets were old, but toy licenses from a movie series could run for several years. That's why I don't think Lego will have the Amazing Spiderman movie variants of the characters. No, they won't have ASM variants, but they might have ASM2 variants. I would say that the contracts for Spider-man probably only cover a certain number of movies. For instance Lego covered the first two movies and Megablocks covered the next two. There were varying amounts of time inbetween those movies, which tends to suggest the contracts do indeed revolve around the number of movies, rather than years. So if the pattern holds than that means that the Megablocks contract is up. I would say Megablocks no longer has the rights. If they did they'd have made an announcement or something. I mean the movie comes out in 6 months and yet they're not showing anything. Meanwhile all the other merchandising has already been announced and previewed. Based on the fact that Megablocks has said nothing I think we won't be seeing any more Megablocks sets. In fact it could be that there just aren't going to be construction toys for it this time around. Perhaps Disney decided to focus on the USM line rather than introduce a movie line for it. I really like the brighter, more comic-accurate figures, but the live-action ones of DC's look good so far, especially next to the rest of the JLA minifigures (if you Google LEGO Justice League, there's a really good picture using the Dark Knight Batman and Man of Steel Superman, as well as a bunch of custom minifigures.) I like both variants- personally. But I do prefer the more dark 'realistic' varieties often portrayed in live-action adaptions. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Arrow is an okay show, but it is basically a Batman knock off as far add I can tell. With that said I'd love to see an Arrow figure because I have watched that show. As far as the other sets, I wouldn't expect a polybag exclusive of asm2 only because they already have a Spider-Man polybag coming out with that little vehicle. Quote
legofreak86 Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 I reckon if we get an exclusive polybag it would be based on cap 2 the winter soldier with perhaps the winter soldier! As it appears in an act of (in my opinion) careless stupidity! Lego aren't making sets to publicise any of 2014's marvel movies which is a very sad prospect that after seeing trailer for TWS! So much set potential there but instead they choose to base sets off two unbearable sure to be short lived television shows which will be forgotten by time next year! Whereas the movie is destined to make a lot of money and sell more sets than more humdrum ultimate Spiderman's useless vehicles and some random scenarios from a juvenile and poor imitator of earth's mightiest heroes. Such a shame! I hope the final Spiderman sets when we see them officially have new character designs or most of the marvel sets may just not appeal to me next year Such a shame! The logic doesn't make sense? Why stop marvel phase 2 sets after making ones for the first movie just seems silly. Oh well at very least we get red skull and some form of green goblin..... Quote
