I think the macrofigure class should be reserved for characters who truly warrant it. Hulk, Thing, Abomination, Juggernaut, and Rhino are all worthy, but Beast is not. Heck, I was disappointed to see Colossus portrayed that way in the game. He's muscular in the comics, but he's not ginormous.

This just might have been mentioned before, but where are the female super heroes in this wave? There are none? Whoever got the idea that boys don't like to play with female action or mini figures is so wrong.

Either of which you can sign me up for now, though I'd prefer the Sentinel if done well. BaronSat made one a while back that was quite excellent.

A Sentinel one would be epic. Surely Thanos has to be in the pipeline at some point??

Well since we're supposedly getting a summer wave I'd assume that we'll see at least 1 female superhero. I get the impression we'll see Storm at least (She was a big part of the game and appeared on a lot of the advertising). We've had no female villains to date either, that's pretty disappointing.

In general Marvel seems to be behind on this. Overall, not including the SDCC figures, we have 3 women for Marvel and 8 for DC. Marvel really needs to do some catching up.

Not to mention that 2 of those 3 were lovers, and not actual superheroes.

Pepper is Rescue (Which you can play as in the game) in the comics and did put on the suit in IM3 (Which she is featured wearing the suit in the set she appears in). So I think she counts (Just barely though).

Um, she wore the suit in the movie to survive, not fight. Also, she is not wearing the rescue suit in the set. I don't think she counts because her role in the movie was (or at least that scene) was to survive, not fight (she did help fight Aldrich Killian towards the end, though) and was merely escaping the wreckage in the set. I don't want to start an off-topic conversation here, but technically, no she doesn't really count.

That's true, I will concede that as Lego has portrayed her she is definitely in her civilian form, but the character herself is one in the comics (Though in the set Lego did portray her as saving Tony). I suppose she's in that weird limbo of being an official hero in the comics and settling for doing a few heroic acts in the movie.

But I suppose whether she's a hero or not isn't the problem. Whatever she is Marvel doesn't include women enough in the sets. We lack women in the superhero, villain and civilian department.

Pepper Potts is not a superhero.

On a different note, the new minifigures look pretty awesome, especially the Falcon and Taskmaster (one of the best villains ever, brilliant in Agent X). I missed out on getting giant hulk last time so am looking forward to correcting that. Will need a whole bunch of those hydra minifigures and will have to get a custom Baron Struker from ebay I think to lead them. I wish that pack would come with two different Hydra heads for contrast. The actual sets themselves look a little uninspired. There are literally dozens of iconic settings and vehicles that they could include in a set so I am disappointed that they are so generic. Who's lab is the hulk trashing? His own? Would be much better if it was a Hydra or AIM secret laboratory or one of the Taskmaster's training centres. Still, hopefully the line will go on for years and they will start to produce more inspired settings. We need a marvel quivalent to Arkham, size and awesomeness-wise.

Wait, there are four female Marvel characters: Spiderwoman (San Diego Comic-Con 2013 Exclusive), Phoenix Jean Grey (Comic-Con 2012 Exclusive), Pepper Pots and Black Widow. The upcoming Mary Jane makes five.

If you count the original Batman license, there are two different Catwoman figs, two different Poison Ivy figs, three different Harley Quinn figs, Lois Lane, Wonder Woman and Faora (one of Zods army). That's six DC characters currently. The upcoming Batgirl makes seven.

I tend to not count the the comic-con stuff since their extremely limited quantities and most people don't have them. So we only have 3 normal release female characters for Marvel. And among those three only one serves as an active hero (Pepper I count as a hero, but she's definitely not a regular superhero by any stretch of the imagination, and in her current Lego variation she's just a civilian with a cameo/homage to her Superhero self) and even Black Widow is barely "super" (Admittedly she gets a lot done and is a hero, it's just that I'm more interested in characters with superpowers over another gun wielding spy).

As for DC the problem stems from lack of female characters in the superhero and ally/civilian capacity. In that case we have Wonder Woman and Batgirl for the heroes and Lois Lane for the civilian/ally slot. Yes, they're miles ahead on female villains in comparison to Marvel, so I definitely give them credit for being ahead on that at least, but they lack in the other departments. Supergirl and Vicki Vale and officer Montoya are high up on my list for DC.

Ugh, is anyone else really anticipating a 2nd DC wave? Can you imagine they did give us another wave, and it was all Batman again? But since when has females in the DC sets become an issue? They have plenty, sure most are villains, but their the most recognizable and in my opinion, fun.

We have about 25 male characters (With about 8 or so of them having multiple variations) and only 7 female characters (with 1 having another variation in this theme and two having a variation in the original theme) for DC. While that's not as bad as Marvel, that's still far off from being fair. On top of that only two of those women are superheroes, which is disappointing because I've always thought that DC had the better female heroes and yet we only have 2. It's not exactly a problem, it's just underwhelming.

I am hoping for a summer wave, just because I don't feel like we got very much in this coming wave.

I agree, this wave did feel a bit "incomplete". Also, I've decided to not buy the riddler chase because I know that Flash is definitely going to appear again. In about 2-3 years when this license expires, I know that Lego and DC will be too scared to bring in any new characters, and I'm positive that Flash will be among the first to get rehashed, hopefully they do him good when they decide to re-do him. I know I won't be buying Lego forever, but I can live without him (lies).

2-3 years? I heard the contract only covers until 2014. Which with as popular as the theme has been I'm almost willing to bet they've already renewed it or are at least working on a deal. I don't see Lego discontinuing the theme anytime soon.

On a side note I see we have that same guard in the Ock set, except now he has cheekbones. Poor guy, he's as in inept at his job in the Marvel universe as he is in the DC universe...

I thought it was supposed to discontinue in 2015 or 2016. Also, just realized that Batgirl and Nightwing appeared as microfigures in the games theme a couple of months before they're release. I don't know why I never looked into that.

It has not been revealed yet when any of the Super Heroes licenses end.

That I know for a fact, my previous comment was an assumption and the latter was stating that it was an assumption. But most times I've read about the discontinuation of this theme, I read about it ending in 2015, and I guess I let that influence my post(s).

Whoever wrote that it is ending in 2015 is crazy. 2015 is probably the busiest year for superheroes with Batman/Superman/Wonder Woman, Age of Ultron, Ant-Man etc.

I read it about twice now, once on another site I believe, and they were both before the superman/wonder woman and ant man movies were revealed. Actually Ant Man may have been announced when I first read that.

All licensed sets have a contract that expires at some point. But just because the contract expires doesn't mean they won't renew it. If a theme performs well they obviously want to continue it. I believe when the original announcement was made in 2012 it was stated that it was multi-year contract reaching through 2014, meaning that if Lego didn't renew the contract it would end in 2015. With the success of the line though I would say Lego wants to hold onto this one for a while. Plus contract negotiations are actually a good thing, it will allow the deal to be reworked and perhaps a larger number of sets per wave. So I doubt the end is in sight.

I have no doubt that Thanos will appear in a future Marvel set. He's supposed to appear in the Guardians of the Galaxy film, although it could amount to nothing more than another cameo. But it's pretty clear that Marvel plans to eventually use him in a BIG way. Probably Avengers 3.

And yeah, while Mary Jane and Pepper Potts are characters, they're not superheroes any more than Alfred Pennyworth, Jim Gordon, Lois Lane, or J. Jonah Jameson are.

I don't think it's exactly fair that Pepper gets ignored despite saving that women in the mansion and taking down the main villain. And in fact she had superpowers while doing so. She may not be a regular superhero in the movies like she was in the comics but I think it's just a tad bit unfair to lump her in with do nothing Mary Jane. I mean she even appears in the suit saving Tony in the set, that should count for something. And she appears as Rescue in the Lego Marvel game. While I agree that she's a civilian minifigure, she has done superhero acts. So I sort of view her as an honorary superhero. But I suppose it's semantics ultimately and just a matter of opinion.
