Now I'm wondering why the hell MODOK would want a hammer-powered lazer canon :) oh well, at least it's a location set and not just another vehicle. I will definitely be buying it, but I do wish it came with one AIM beekeeper dude as well. Anyone else use Hazmat guys for them at the moment?

We'll just have to wait and see what LEGO's description of the set is to judge if they really got it wrong. I think the more egregious error is how horribly inaccurate Taskmaster's shield is, which is a problem that can't just be ignored like the (potentially) ludicrous setup with Thor's hammer.

Stupid question, but what does Taskmasters shield look like in the TV show that the set is based on? Is there some reason from the episode that they might prefer to use the studded shield? Either because of some episode related peculiarity (ie TM using some sort of AIM gizmo shield with a red thingy in it?) or some play feature that needs a connection point? The minifig is obviously not quite the classic comic version, which is fine. Falcon is obviously the cartoon version as well.

The same thing with The specific properties of Thor's Hammer. Let's be honest with ourselves. Even in the comics those have been wildly inconsistent over the years and have more served individual specific story needs than any overarching set of detailed rules. AIM somehow stealing the Hammer to power a super weapon seems like a perfectly typical comic book plot. And one well within the nature of AIM.

Why can't they have locations? That's what I loved about the old Spiderman sets. For the Electro set, instead of a useless "trike", they could have put a small jewelry shop. If they want a play feature just put a catapult for Spiderman. That little street light in the Truck Heist set is already better than that Spider-Trike.

Spiderman isn't even using the helicopter, he's swinging on it...

Edit: The Green Goblin looks like he belongs in Ben 10.

So I'm not the only one! Something about the design on the torso just screams Ben 10 to me.

I still like the figure though, kids'll love it too.

Perhaps Four-Arms might have been the inspiration on the Green Goblin figure ?

Now a hammer powered laser cannon.....I thought the energy of Thor's weapon was delivered at the heavy hammer head end of it......not in it's handle, otherwise it would blow out of Thor's hands when he used it (other than him throwing it of course) ?

And no containment field or glass case to control that energy and stop anyone from simply ripping it out and taking it back ?

Too bad Taskmasters shield isn't good at all. They have the mold, so why didn't they use it. We all will have that frustrated if only feeling when we're going to look at Taskmaster in our superheroes collection.

And i think they need to make a new hair for black people. Now the Falcon is a guy from India.

Electro isnt the Electro i was hoping for, but he's looking quite nice. The trike is the ugliest thing together with the green goblin this wave

Honestly I was really hoping for Winter Soldeir sets, these will suffice. This is much better than the crappy 2 set USM wave we had this year.(I loved the green car set though!) Hopefully we get two full waves next year, like star wars.

- is it just me, or does the Green Goblin look far more like the Abomination than like any interpretation of the GG ever presented?

Arguably the Green Goblin from the Ultimate Spider-Man comics already looked quite a bit like the Abomination, but Abomination was my first thought when I saw this figure, and I think I'd probably use it as Abomination, if only so I have another big figure to "fight" my Hulk.

I have to agree to this. TM's shield is so wrong. I'm going to say the studded vs. round shield, as the LOTR refrences to people with Rohan names is too confusing. Studded shield is wrong, round shield is better.

Sure, AIM could steal Thor's meow-meow, that's perfectly fine comics logic.

Something tells me that Electro is going to make an excellent base for a custom Iceman! Just a little Brass-o to remove the lightning bolts pattern from its forehead and ta daaaaa!

So nobody see's the awkwardness in Electro's face? His expression is so off-putting just the thought of him getting so much love baffles me. Great figure, funny face. But considering Electro changed to his Ultimate version in the show to appear more serious, and they gave him such a goofy expression, to me is just ironic.

Electro is weird.and goofy in the show, the expression suits him nicely.

Taskmaster's shield in that set does look a little odd, though it's flatter than the good Captain's hence the reason perhaps the choice of that CMF shield......an amber 1x1.....maybe in that new TV series the shield fires energy burst or a like ?

It just looks like he's laughing to me. :look:

I was a little disappointed with the part choices as well. The 1x1 transparent orange stud just doesn't looks right...

Is that a printed piece for taskmaster's shield or a sticker? If it's a sticker could you maybe put it on captain america's shield or would that look like crap?

Here are good quality images of the Hydra tank set minifigures

As you can clearly see captain america is of a new variation and his shield is normal red instead of the dark red version as seen in the avengers set which IMO looks much better. The other two minifigures are also looking fantastic. :classic:

He's supposed to be comic relief in the show. Remember, these sets are for kids. While these might not all be perfect for collectors, if a goofy face can help the youngins can act out their favourite scenes from USM then I'm all for it.

I swear in 2014 Lego is going exclusively kiddie and are starting to hate collectors. Star Wars and Marvel just got kiddiefied IMO.

I mean, Lego is first and foremost a children's toy.
