DJ Bricks Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Uh, has no one else noticed that we got a Venom variant!? His mouth curves up higher and his gums are silver. I think the reason we aren't getting a Spider-Man variant is that kids would want to get the original Spidey-suit figure, and so if they could only buy one they wouldn't buy a suit with a variant. Yeah new head, different mouth, my guess is to make venom more kid friendly to a five year old. Quote
KingPixels Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I would just rather see Nightcrawler and Shadowcat over Beast, Storm and Professor X, they're much more in line with Lego humour. Is there any possibility of a Fantastic Four set down the line maybe to coincide with the 2015 film? I'd say it's likely. Quote
Suspsy Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I think we need Prof X, Jean, Cyclops, Beast, Iceman, Angel, Storm, rogue, and colossus. We need any bad guys JUGGERNAUT. JUST GIVE US JUGGERNAUT. Quote
raminator Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 the German catalog has no Avengers Sets in it but the Spidey sets and all Batman Sets. Quote
Lego-Dark-Knight0518 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 In the Juniors set, Spider-Man has red hips. Anyone else notice that? Quote

just2good Posted December 18, 2013 Author Posted December 18, 2013 (edited) 'Vader' on Brick Horizon has a review up for the Juniors Batman set. It looks like a really fun set, and I love the variation on the figures! Edited December 18, 2013 by just2good Quote
Suspsy Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I'm sorely tempted to get that set just for the classic blue and grey Batman. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 'Vader' on Brick Horizon has a review up for the Juniors Batman set. It looks like a really fun set, and I love the variation on the figures! I love robin! that is definitely a great set. I'm going to get it for sure. Quote
Amset-Rah Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I'm extremely tempted to get that Junior Batman set if for the 60s Batman and Robin alone. That and those new pieces used on the bombs Joker's catapulting, aren't they the same bowls from the Parisian Restaurant set? Quote

Captain Nemo Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Oooh nice we get more pictures of that set. As sad as it is, that's my really my most wanted DC set, next to the Penguin one. I love how simple and cute the batcave is and the figures are great. It's also good to know, though I guess it's expected, that everything is printed rather than stickers. The only think I think it lacks is a good new Joker--it's a missed opportunity to not make a 60's Joker in a pink suit with a paint covered mustashe! Quote
TheLegoDr Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 I am surprised they wouldn't do a new joker here too to go with the theme, but if you think about it, all of the pieces are printed (which is unusual) and robin got a new head and Batman is in a lighter color, so they didn't really change the figures too much. I wish he would have a longer yellow cape. If you actually look at the Burt Ward Robin, he has a black mask and green sleeves, so this new robin looks nothing like the 60s version everyone claims him to be. Basically the addition of a yellow cape is the only close thing to it. Quote

Basically the addition of a yellow cape is the only close thing to it. I was planning on changing his arms to fleshy arms and giving him green hands to resemble Ward a little more. Of course he won't be 100% like the original 60s Robin, just like the Batman here isn't 100% like Adam West. As far as Lego is concerned, I think they look close enough to a general audience. Quote
BrickBuilder3213 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Electro has trans-arms and a trans-head? OoO ...I am definetly getting the Spider-Trike Vs Electro set for the parts now. TWT Quote
Colossus Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Adios, angst-inspiring drab colours of the recent Bat-builds! My son's gonna go amazeballs over this set with its bright colours and a build he can proudly do on his own w/o being DUPLO-fied! Looks good, LEGO! Quote
HawkLord Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 The Electro design makes me optimistic for a SW ghost Kenobi and/or Yoda. And, of course Iceman. I'm also really liking the brighter blue on Cap A. Quote
Suspsy Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 As much as I like the Electro design, it'll make it harder for TLG to pull off an Iceman that looks distinct from him. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 ^that is stating they will make one. There is no guarantee of that.. But I think it could be done. Even if they kept the same proportion of translucent in that same color, the printing alone can easily change a figure. At the very least, we could have an army of ice/electric men.... Quote
Sam892 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 As much as I like the Electro design, it'll make it harder for TLG to pull off an Iceman that looks distinct from him. Not really most versions of Iceman are solid white. Even then if they went with similar styles to electro, Iceman's printing would be extremely different, both in expression and torso. He would look a lot more snowman like, look at the R2 D2 from last years Star Wars Calender as an example. Quote

He would look a lot more snowman like, look at the R2 D2 from last years Star Wars Calender as an example. Iceman is oftenly portrayed as being bluish white. He was like a snowman at the start, but since the 90's he has alternated between blusih white to white. So I would say that most versions are not white and and that they are quite equal these days. I have over 5000 comics including a near complete run of Uncanny X-men and X-men so I should know what I'm talking about (hopefully). Quote
gedren_y Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 For Iceman (if Lego does this) the ideal color would be the little used Pearl White, but another close match would be Milky White. Two other colors that are close are Glow-in-the-dark White and Glow-in-the-dark Opaque. Glow-in-the-dark White is the color of the head of the Extremis Soldier minifig. We're lucky that the current Guardians of the Galaxy doesn't have Martinex, because he and Iceman look too much alike. Quote
montgocloud Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Found The Riddler Chase at my local LEGO store today! I'll post a bit of a review later tonight. Quote

I'm sure if LEGO makes Iceman, he'll look very similar to his appearance in the game. That would make him light blue, maybe trans light blue. Heck, he looks pretty plausible since his in game model hasn't any leg or arm printing, just an icy texture that can be easily done without or accomplished with trans pieces. Quote
larsyuipo Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 I don't know why... But it looks kinda intresting Quote
