TheLegoDr Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 What kind of magneto is that? I'd love a dark skinned female that doesn't have purple eyes like Stass Allie. It'd be nice to use them in MOCs for my castle stuff. Quote
phonciplebone Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 The figures and sets will most likely be based on the upcoming Days of Future Past movie. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 The figures and sets will most likely be based on the upcoming Days of Future Past movie. Lego doesnt have the rights to the movies. Quote
phonciplebone Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Lego doesnt have the rights to the movies. Hmm. You are right. Didn't think about that since Spidey and X-Men are not under Disney/Marvel at the movies. Well, let's cross our fingers for Storm with a mohawk then! Quote
wesker Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Storm looks fantastic! Love the new cape she has. Not sure another Magneto was needed so soon and his new costume isn't as good as his previous one, but its still a nice variant to have. Fingers crossed Cyclops, Sabretooth, Mystique and Jean Grey in the Phoenix costume will show up. Quote

BrickG Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Professor X and his wheelchair. I'd love Beast but... they'd probably use his stupid cat form. How you transform from gorilla to cat I'll never know. Quote
wesker Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 What kind of magneto is that? Ultimate Magneto. Quote
Ceroknight Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 More like this one (Don't know which one though) Can't wait to see more pictures! Quote
wesker Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 My mistake. I wonder how many sets we're going to be getting? I'll be disapointed if its only one each for X-Men and GOTG, especially after the number Spider-Man got in the first wave. Quote
KingPixels Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Doesn't look prelim to me. I'd be surprised if either of the two figures change at all before release. Disappointed by Storm's hair, it's LEGO's lazy go-to generic hair and Magneto looks a bit off. I think it's the neck. Much more excited for GOTG. Quote
Lego-Dark-Knight0518 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 YES!!! MOVIE VERSIONS OF THE GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY!! (Look at the logo on the right-hand side) I wonder what that mysterious dark blue figure is on the bottom of the picture? Quote
rakky Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Both look pretty good, 80's style Magneto is a nice alternative. I actually prefer all of the 80's costumes, apart from kitty's :) Quote
TenorPenny Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Storm has no tiara, though. I don't keep up with modern comics, so I'm not sure if this is based off of the current sort of story stream or stylings. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Remember the minifigs might not be finalised yet, so things missing might be included when finally released. Quote
thefyfe Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 This is such a tease - there's prelim boxes in this pic just out of camera can see the edges of them want to see them so bad! Quote
jonwil Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 I too hope we get Professor X and his chair, would be great to see a LEGO wheelchair for the first time ever :) Quote
larsyuipo Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 so smart searching at building instruction :) http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildinginstructions/6075289.pdf http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildinginstructions/6075292.pdf Quote
strangely Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 I was hoping we'd get Storm and there she is, so I'm happy. Definitely looks like a prelim though, the printing seems a bit sparse, so I'm guessing there will be some changes for the final. Her arms are black though, so I guess that means we might not get the game version after all. Hopefully they at least give us the hairpiece from the game. Magneto is interesting and with a different head he'd probably look good. I like the old one better though. Hopefully more pictures pop up soon, I'm dying to see the new Wolverine (Mask please!). Quote
larsyuipo Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 i will get 3 first sets wave of marvel and 1 DC than also some summer :3 Quote
Captain Nemo Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Like the popular opinion, I too think the new Magneto is ugly. The first version was perfect, and based off the more famous costume from the comics, so this seems disappointing and unnessissary. I don't know why we need another Magneto again, and hopefully Lego using Magneto here means more new X-Men characters in other new sets. Or it could just mean they're wasting a spot to give us a subpar rehashed villain. I think the latter is more likely. I am overjoyed that we are getting a Storm, if anything to start a regrettably small collection of colored female heads. I don't like her body design though, even without really seeing the torso. The game design was perfect, and this figure lacks everything that fig had. Also no leg printing on Storm, ala Wonder Woman. Come on Lego! Literally every other theme has leg printing. I have to say I'm really dissapointed; to me it's becoming evident that Lego is not putting in the effort that this theme requires in terms of character design (don't get me started on set design), which is actually the most important part about making superheroes into sucessful minifigures. Quote
Dr Leg O Brick Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Great! What a surprise, Magneto in his late 80s costume, I'm rather pleased with that. Disappointing somewhat about Storm, I was hoping for her classic Second Genesis costume however, I'm grateful that she is included in the first place. Observation's from the prototype picture, Wolverine's on the box, hopefully they'll do his Yellow costume with mask and/or his brown costume with mask. That blue figure, to me, looks like either Cyclops, Mystique or perhaps Apocalypse, although the latter is less likely as Lego's more likely to make him a Big-fig. That plane is obviously the Blackbird, or a smaller support craft. And of course GOTG logo, meaning theirs at least one set. I have no clue about set distribution between DC/Marvel, however, I'm thinking 3/4 X-Men and maybe 2-3 GOTG sets. Any more pictures? I'm hoping for a Sentinel... Quote

I feel pretty much the same way. I'm happy to be getting a Storm at all, but unhappy that it doesn't appear to be the game variation. I'm still holding out hope though that it's just a prelim and that it might end up being that variation or at least a similar one. I mean it's rare that these leaked pictures ever look completely like the final product. And the Storm minifigure did look rather incomplete, what is seen of the torso decal is so sparse and incomplete, I just feel like it can't be the final product. It's been a weird year for minifigures so far. While they all look good, many of them just aren't based on what we want them to. Quote
Ultron Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Very happy we finally got confirmation of these sets! And that we get a Storm! But if she doesn't have her molded hairpiece, I'm going to be very disappointed and upset. Quote
The Joker1 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Bear in mind that image looks pretty early in development, Just think back to the marvel set when we saw a yellow and green preliminary figure for electro, Then he turned out to be blue with transparent arms. A lot can change in a little time... Quote
