Is it just me, or I can't open the preliminary Blackbird picture? I want to see that "Dark Blue Figure" everyone's talking about...

At the bottom of the Storm/Magneto picture, you can see the top of a set box with a minifig preview on it. Best I can tell that's the 'dark blue' figure everyone's talking about (but to me it looks more like a silhouette).

I agree - think people are clutching at straws a bit with this idea - can hope for cyclops tho!

Yeah I've been thinking all along people were drawing a lot from virtually nothing, but I also think that if we get another X-man besides Wolverine and Storm, Cyclops is the most likely candidate. It's fairly safe to assume he'll be included, unless Lego come out of left field, which they sort of did with Deadpool. So you never know.

The leader pf the X-Men makes the most sense. Maybe in his Ultimate outfit?

Deadpool is a fan favorite and Marvel is pushing him into media alot. A video game, a tv appearance, lots of comic merchandise.

These $50 sets usally have five figs, three good guys/civilians and two bad guys. The Smallville set was an exception with two good guys and three bad guys

If they make Cyclops, my guess is, in order of most probable to least, his costume might be either his Astonishing X-Men suit, his 90's animated/Jim Lee suit, then maybe his Second Genesis suit. I don't think they'll will go with either his X-Factor, Ultimate, 2000's Morrison and Silvestri, movie, or his original X-Men training suit, as they don't fit in with what Lego's approach to the X-Men seems to be.

And the Guardians Of The Galaxy pic shows what looks like a wing, a huge wing with an engine if you look closely, top left if I remember correctly.

This picture shows a little more of the blackbird than the other pictures:

I'm starting to think the Blackbird and Sentinel are both in the same set. I just noticed how both the leaked Sentinel image and our first image with Storm using the same background (rain and lightning). It would explain the tiny form of the Sentinel itself. Like other I've noticed that in a lot of the $50 Marvel sets, you have the large build and the small build. At that price, I can see there being at least one more figure, so I have my fingers crossed for Cyclops. He'd be an excellent addition to the LEGO Marvel series.

I mean, there's only one X-Men set confirmed for 2014, so they have to be in the same set. :look:

That's what we've all been assuming, since as far as any leaks have shown there's only one X-men set coming out this year.

Edit: just2good beat me to it.

He might be a fan favorite but the overwhelming majority of his material isn't especially kid friendly, so I still consider it out of left field, personally. Not that I'm complaining, he's one of my favorite figures.

Hello,

Does anyone know when the Batman/Penguin and Batman/Stem roller sets will be released in the US?

Thanks.

I've heard March tossed around, but I don't think anyone really knows. Other than the assumption that Lego is focusing more on the Lego Movie sets, I don't think anyone has a clue why they didn't launch the whole Batman wave at once, anyway. It makes no sense to me.

I haven't been paying much attention  . When I first saw the Sentinel image, I was hoping for cheaper X-Men set we were not aware of. Doesn't hurt to dream.

The Juniors Batman and Spider-man sets are due out in March. This link was shared in the Juniors 2014 thread.

For a moment there I thought you said "Guardians set is shit"

I honestly think they're doing that to make it seem like both DC and Marvel are getting 2 waves :sadnew:

Uk lego stores got them all on at same time so no idea why this has happened

I don't think that's necessarily it. Other places in the world already have the steamroller and duckboat, and honestly two sets released a few months later aren't going to fool anyone into considering it a second wave. I don't really have an explanation, though, it seems pretty asinine to launch two sets at a time in the biggest market.

Well then it remains a mystery...

The winter Star Wars wave in the u.s. was pushed back to march. The official explanation is so the TLG can focus on the lego movie.

More likely they want everyone to pay more, attention to the lego movie sets.

Then why not just release all 4 sets later on? It still sort of seems like an illusion. Marvel's getting 9 system sets and DC's getting 4, holy crap just realized:

5 sets can make up a wave!

And there I go raising my hope again, now to get disappointed.

I think that because Batman seems to be featured so heavily in TLM, they wanted to get a couple sets with him out, but didn't dare realease the whole wave for the same reasons everything else is on hold. That's the only sense I can make of it. :def_shrug:

I don't really care if DC gets more sets out this year or not. It's nice to have it with Marvel, since they are actually releasing a variety of things (Spider-Man, Captain America, the Avengers, X-Men, and Guardians of the Galaxy) but DC doesn't really need it if we would just get more Batman stuff, even if they so generously throw Green Lantern and another Robin variant in. :hmpf_bad:

It's kind of a shame everything has to be put on hold for the movie sets. Not that they aren't neat, they are, but I'm not all that interested in any of them, personally. On the other hand, my collection could really use Batgirl (and Robin, since I've not actually gotten him yet). I disagree with your second bit though, I'll even take more batman sets if they can give me a Green Lantern. I need Green Lantern.

You see this is the problem I see so much and probably the reason Lego is going the route they've taken, is because of comments like this. I intend to say this without any offense, but seriously, why can't we have a solo Green Lantern set instead of having him get backed up with Batman? It's not like a solo Green Lantern, Teen Titans, or Superman set wouldn't sell, in fact, they have sold well before in other Toy brands (or so says the internet) I mean if we got a set focused on Superman with the Flash backing him up and so on and so forth we could be on par with how many figures Marvel has at this point.

Interesting thing I notices though, you said "I'll take more Batman sets" instead of "I'll take more DC sets, whereas had you, or anyone else, be talking about Marvel, you'd have said (or so says the internet) "I'll take more Marvel sets". You know how I can tell? Because Marvel's collection seems to focus on X-Men (barely) Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers, Spiderman, and Iron Man, you never know what sub-theme will be elaborated on next, whereas in DC people are automatically assuming it's going to be Batman. But I can already tell that in 2015-2016-2017, when we get movie based sets, we'll have a justice league, based off of the movies, they'll be the already released characters (Batman Superman, Wonder Woman Green Lantern [ John Stewart, though], Nightwing and the Flash) and it'll just take even longer for them to make comic-style JL members, and by the time they do get to creating such members, they'll have taken another 3 years to remake the ones we have now. It sort of seems like DC has set themselves up for failure here, and it's comments like this that make me understand why.

Maybe if people actually wanted Justice League sets though.... and I regress.
