No Numbuh1Nerd, the wing I can see is definitely coming from the Blackbird. You can see Storm, and part of the fuselage on the port side. Seeing the pic and the piece count, and making a guestimate, I'd say it's got a cockpit to seat two, three figs maybe in the front. Then a hold in the back to seat a few more. I'd say the main wing is this part, http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=87614 , with this on the end, http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=93273. Then a SNOT contraption in between, have a look for yourself http://s407.photobuc...cd00ce.jpg.html. Thanks to the original poster for the link. It's extremely hard to make out due to the fold in the page, you have to zoom and try and look for a strange dark blueish wing. One found, you can make out the rest.

No, in the Guardians set on the other page. I'd be very surprised if a Guardians vehicle showed up in an X-Men set lol

Animated (like the Teen Titans cartoon), Red Robin, Golden/Silver age (with the pixie boots), or the Juniors one with a more accurate torso, so there are a few. I was overreacting a little anyway, since none of these would be that bad, but I'd rather see a different Bat-family member or someone from the Justice League team-up with Bats. If Robin were coming in a Teen Titans set with Cyborg, Deathstroke, or whoever, then it would be different.

A lot of this probably is just waiting for the DCCU to take off (fingers crossed it will) and I am looking forward to the MoS2 sets, but right now, DC doesn't need as much merchandise as Marvel does, so I'd rather not see them milk the Bat-cow for up to five more sets with a minimal amount of new characters, if this wave is anything to go by.

Galactus probably won't appear in the MCU unless Fox sells him back, but that image made me laugh. I don't think that he would be as small and spindly, but I do think that they would do Galactus similarly. I just can't seen LEGO releasing over-sized minifigure parts, but you never know. :shrug_oh_well:

I can get behind this though. I know that one counterpoint to what LEGO has been releasing has been that WB/DC is making the decision for them, however Imaginext and LEGO have released roughly the same amount of characters, including an army of Batman, but Imaginext has unarguably had more variety in their figures; they even released Red Tornado! I would say that the biggest variable in business, aside from LEGO being more of a building toy (though IN is technically one too and it's hard to pretend that most of these sets are more about the building than the figures) is that LEGO's target age range seems to pick-up where IN's leaves off (around 6 years old), but why would there be such a big disparity if the companies weren't making these choices for themselves? Maybe WB thinks that the average 7-year old is more brooding than when he was 6 and would prefer Batman because of that? :sceptic: I wouldn't expect LEGO to ever release Red Tornado (I've designed close to 200 DC characters and haven't gotten to him) but some more b- and c- listers from the larger universe would be nice. Would Nightwing, Man-Bat, and Mister Freeze really sell that much better than Green Arrow, Gorilla Grodd, and Black Manta without Batman in the picture?

I'm ignoring Golden Age Robin because I feel that's what we're getting in the Juniors set, the animated Robin would only show up in a Teen Titans set, and personally I consider Red Robin a different character as much as Nightwing or Red Hood. We're really running out of Bat-family members unless they dig really deep. Maybe Batwing, the other 2 Batgirls, Huntress, and Oracle if we're lucky. I doubt we'll get Red Hood.

Oh hey, and Bat Cow!

Does Fox own Galactus? I guess he could be considered a Fantastic Four villain...?

Red Tornado is getting less and less obscure by the day. In the last 2 big deal DC cartoons, Red Tornado plays a big role. Given he wouldn't even need new molds, I wouldn't be horribly surprised if we get him in a few years. I think at least 2 DC sets each wave should go without Batman, and only allow Superman if he's with a new guy. At least do it once to test the waters for less orphaned terror-of-the-night-like characters.

What you're seeing is the bottom of one of the blanked-out boxes of the GOTG sets. Dr Leg O Brick posted an image of that page.

He didn't appear physically but he was technically in the second F4 movie, if I recall correctly. So yeah, Fox has rights to him in terms of movies.

I didn't see the 2nd movie, but is it true he was just a cloud?

Oh yeah, a cloud with his helmet shape in the center. It was beyond stupid and one of the worst moments in comic book movies.

A brick built version would be nice. Maybe a comic set to be released along side the 2015 movie.

No doubt Lego will want to cash in on the F4 movie coming out next year just as we're getting an xmen set this year. We'll probably get one set with all of them, maybe silver surfer and a galactus. Or maybe the fantasticar and another doctor doom/doombot or maybe even some skrull or wizard. I'm not too well versed with the F4. I used to read some of their comics when I was little but I liked spider-man a lot more. I don't know if the villain for the F4 reboot has even been announced so whoever it turns out to be (doctor doom, let's be real) will probably be the villain in the set just as we're getting a sentinel.

Unfortunately yes....

Oh, well that's interesting.

I agree, Doctor Doom is the most likely to be released, and I'm sure we'll get a set to accompany him, hey at this rate we might as well them already, I really want a Sue Storm. I wonder how they'll pull off her invisibility. Probably translucent pieces.

Since a giant dude with a pink helmet would look way better on the big screen...

I kinda agree with this sentiment. There were plenty of issues with that movie, but Galactus being a planet-devouring cloud isn't really one of them. I always thought his physical form looked kind of... goofy and not as scary as a devourer of worlds should be.

Posted

I think the issue wasn't so much that he's a bit funny looking if you think about it, I think it was a matter of trying to explain what he is to a movie audience. A giant man that destroys worlds causes more disbelief than a sentient cloud that would do the same thing. Shows like Star Trek paved the way for this kind of thinking. Personally, I'm fond of the F4 movies. All the actors but Alba were good in it and it wasn't treated very seriously. Not every super hero movie has to be NolanMan or the Watchmen. Fun movies are seriously underrated sometimes.

Going back to the topic, I do hope that we get Galactus in Lego form someday, especially since we already have a good Doctor Doom. I do think they would brick build him rather than make a giant minifigure. I'm sure that was easier for the video game to render but I don't think TLG would invest in the large mold just for him. I'm pretty sure the alarm clocks are actually produced by another company for Lego so they wouldn't already have such molds.

And a silver man riding on a flying surfboard isn't goofy?

I think this X-Men set opens up a lot of doors for future loose movie tie-ins and a Fantastic Four set wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for next year!

Marvel studios, if I remember correctly, have recently got back the rights to the Surfer and Galactus. Great with the Thanos story their expanding with Guardians and Avengers 1. Not to turn this into a huge fan boy shoot out, but, suggesting Galactus is "Goofy" is ridiculous. All superhero's are goofy to a certain extent, but, why not? Galactus is practically a god, his power unmatched (I've only seen one man break his armour), why shouldn't he look goofy, to me he's a staple of a classic superhero. All my opinion, of course. As for Galactus in the FF movie? Possibly the most pathetic thing I've ever seen. The injustice to the character is beyond magnitude. He was practically a fart cloud, the Devourer Of Worlds, a fart cloud. Where's the pink and blue armour, the spiked helmet and the black hair, along with his ship? I'd love if they did a Giant Man/Power Man (the other one)/Goliath minifig pens, but alas, back on topic. When's London toy fair? I expect we'll get descriptions, as other have said, at London, then pics at the New York toy fair. Is their the possibility of a retail exclusive? Or a few polybags later in the year? Maybe a danger room training robot, or a mini Blackbird?

Fox still own both Galactus and Silver Surfer. Marvel offered them a deal where they would keep the Daredevil licence for a few years in exchange for both Galactus and Silver Surfer. Marvel wanted both of them to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy. However Fox want to use both characters in the FF reboot and most likely to spin Surfer off into another film, hence why Fox let Daredevil return to Marvel.

I agree overall. And I totally get that goofy looks are sort of comicish anyway, I just haven't ever been a fan of Galactus' design, personally. I'd still like to see him in Lego form, though! More characters are always good, and I could see him being flashlight/clock sized (though I don't think they'll ever produce one of those as a unique character like that), but brick built would be cool too as long as they give him plenty of pieces for detail. Not like the sentinel. And I totally like fun movies, Thor 2 is one of my favorite Marvel films yet and it wasn't very serious at all.

Silver Surfer is cool as hell. Nothing goofy about surfing. Especially surfing through space.

I don' think the X-jet is going to be much of an X-jet with 336 pieces. :sceptic:

That's my fear too, especially split with the Sentinel. I'm wondering what big mould/possible bigfig(?) we might get with the price/piece ratio being that far off. I'm going to hope against hope that we might get a bigfig Juggernaut or something crazy like that.

LEGO can do anything they want to. It doesn't have to be what we want, unfortunately. Just look at The Avengers Hulk set. Hawkeye is flying that little jet, when in reality it wouldn't be that tiny. You have to consider scale. It is very possible they would do an X-Jet on a small scale.

I would imagine they wouldn't make Mr. Fantastic rubbery. They may consider one longer arm than the other, but I doubt that all the time. They may include a brick inbetween his legs and torso to look like he is stretched in the middle, but more than likely he'll be a normal minifigure in his uniform. I can't imagine they do anything too special, although I hope I'm wrong.

The problem with the Fantastic Four is that Johnny, Sue, and Reed would all need both a normal version and a "powered up" version...
