Drock Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Thanks, Legofreak. I'm interested to hear what the DC "new range" is for 2015. Quote
strangely Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Thanks, Legofreak. I'm interested to hear what the DC "new range" is for 2015. I'm really interested too. With the movie being moved they won't have as much time to put together next years line. Quote
Cammo Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 (edited) I'm really interested too. With the movie being moved they won't have as much time to put together next years line. Easy fix though, alter a City prison set into Gotham Police HQ with some exclusive villain and 'caching'. or something like this would be a good seller as well: Edited January 21, 2014 by Cammo Quote
Captain Nemo Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 That's very interesting--and good to know that Superheroes can be placed up with Star Wars and City is sell-ability; which means we won't need to fear that the line will be cut short like Batman 1. I do think it's a bit sad however that from Lego pointing out their biggest sellers, Spider-Man and Batman, that it seems likely that they'll continue the trend we have now with the big two and some others along for the ride. It is great to know that we'll get a new DC wave to replace the void left by the movie shift. I'm not too worried about those sets being rushed either, since at this point, I bet Lego only knows as much as we do about Superman vs. Batman, so they wouldn't be any more prepared. X-Jet knews is disapointing though. From the description of a blund ended small plane, it doesn't sound spectacular. I don't know why they wouldn't make it more jet like, as a blunt end doesn't inspire speed. I think it's great however that Magneto comes with white hair, which adds more to a rather meh character design. Quote
gedren_y Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Also, the article makes no mention of Wolverine or the Sentinel. Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I'd love to hear that the "inserted 2015 DC range" is actually a DC range, and not an "inserted MORE YES MORE BATMAN range... Quote
Drock Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I'm kind of expecting the x-jet to be more like the size if the jet from Hulk's Hellicarrier Breakout, rather than the Quinjet :( Quote
Colossus Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 The entire report is very interesting. Unfortunately, I'm not surprised by the lame X-Men set. However, the new train and train station additions to CITY, and the new polar theme sets sound intriguing. While I haven't been the least bit interested in Chima sets, I can't wait to see this Phoenix Tribe build. With a little tweaking, I hope it resembles X-Men's Phoenix's...um...Phoenix Effect. Quote
montgocloud Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 One word: YES! Blue and yellow ship shares Star Lord's color scheme so his ship seems to be more and more plausible. But, of course, blue and yellow is also Nova's color scheme so who knows. I'm just glad that we're getting Groot, the only Guardian that I thought would be overlooked. Very intrigued and excited! More than likely Lego knows a bit more than us. It's likely WB sent them some concept art and a few vague scene descriptions so that they could at least plan what the line will look like. Lego prepares sets pretty far in advance, if they had nothing then they'd have no line to move, so obviously they had some plans and concepts in place. Quote
deskp Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Ugh, astonishing x-men Cyclops is not as cool as classic 90's... Lego seems to be going super random with their x-men costume selections is really annoying. Quote
Sam892 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 (edited) Interesting news, I'm glad we're getting the Astonishing outfit for Cyclops, it's by far his best fit next too the original 60's outfit. Hopefully we will see some more astonishing outfits like Beast's. It's also good to see we're getting Cyclops and Storm who are the two most difficult purist customs to make ( next to Beast and Nightcrawler ). It's also great to get confirmation that LEGO will make Batman vs Superman sets, but now since there's an unexpected gap next year I find it more likely to get more JL members. Clone OPatra Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 The last Wolverine we got also was basically Astonishing X-Men style, and he was a great figure. As long as LEGO is making more X-Men characters I think the correct approach to take is: There have been a couple very weird and off-putting X-Men iterations in the past, but I doubt LEGO will go for those. Most of the more normal ones are decent and I'm sure will make great minifigs. Quote
Legoman123 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 All I can say is that I am happy we are getting an X-men set with some cool minifigures. Whilst the X-jet doesn't sound that promising I will most definitely still pick it up. Now onto 2015. I personally hope we get an expansion of JL characters, like Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern and Cyborg, as well as a few villains for them to go up against. Lastly I would like to see some more unique Batman villains as well e.g. the ventriloquist, Black Mask etc. Quote
Hrafnblod Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Interesting they didn't mention Wolverine in the X-jet rundown. Not surprised it's going to be a smaller jet, even if ti's disappointing. Still nice to hear a bit more, but I feel like we can assume no summer/fall DC wave if they're already talking about 2015 for DC. Guess it's just the 4 Batman sets this year. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 What about Wolverine and the Sentinel? The X-Jet seems likely to be the size of the jet hawkeye had in the hulks helicarrier set. I'm also glad magnetos having hair, i'm still getting the set for Cyclops, but i don't get what makes the set $50 for only 330 pieces? Quote

I highly doubt it's near the size of the S.H.I.E.L.D fighter jet. Also I'm guessing most of the parts are large aeroplane pieces like wings. Large parts always drive up the price because of how much more they cost to make. Lastly we may be getting a few new molds in the set which increase the price as well. We already know of wolverines mask, but Storm could get a new mold as well or the plane could contain new pieces. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 @Hrafnblod: Marvel and DC are still even in terms of the amount of respective sets, the Summer DC sets are part of the Duplo line Quote
Hrafnblod Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 @Hrafnblod: Marvel and DC are still even in terms of the amount of respective sets, the Summer DC sets are part of the Duplo line Don't remind me. It's bothersome that DC has to make do with half its sets being incompatible with the others. Quote
DarthBrickus Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 (edited) Astonishing X-Men seems to be "it" for Lego, which is great. I like my Figs consistent. SDCC-Phoenix was Astonishing-style, Wolverine in the Deadpool-Set was Astonishing-style, now Cyclops, and i *think* Storm's costume looked like her classic one, with white accents instead of yellow, which matches the description. Reference: Cable and Angel look to be easily doable by Lego too, Angel similar to Falcon from the new Avengers assemble Set, and Cable is basically doable with a new torso-print and one of the Cyborg arms from LEGO Agents. Oh, and maybe this spectacular piece: Edited January 21, 2014 by DarthBrickus Quote

Does that break the consistency of our xmen figs? Quote
BrickG Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Zero interest in any of the Super Hero builds. I want many of the figures though... Quote

It feels to me like Lego really likes to go with whatever options they can that don't require headgear (and consequently, new molds). Captain America (though he'd look so much better with a headpiece like Flash's), Red Skull, Hydra soldier, Spider-Man, Venom, Deadpool, Iron Fist, Power Man... Lot of character selection that just uses 'bald' heads. Quote

I wish we could get that early cyclops from the game that had the molded headpiece for his visor thing. I'm guessing they changed it though so they wouldn't have to make a new mold when they made his fig as you said. I honestly don't care much for this version but I'd still like him for my collection. So does this mean we'll never get a jean grey fig? I actually really liked her game design and now that cyclops is coming in this variant, it seems unlikely to me we'll ever get that jean grey. Quote
Rinzler Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Barry from brickfanatics.co.uk (http://brickfanatics...oy-fair-report/) brings us news from the London Toy Fair: On to Superheros, Suerpheroes becoming an evergreen line. Means they’re as integral as Star Wars and City to Lego. Spider-Man in Marvel is the bestselling product line, and Batman for DC. For Marvel they had the X-Jet: It’s Cyclops in his Astonishing X-Men uniform. Storm in her debut black outfit. Magneto has white slicked back hair. The X-Jet doesn’t look like the classic X-Jet, or the one in the game. Blunt ended and much smaller than the Quinjet. £44.99 3 Guardians of the Galaxy sets. 76021, 76019, 76020. Only licensees could see these. Luckily Disney were on a tour behind us and I caught a glimpse of a brick-built Groot and a giant blue and yellow ship. For DC they’re moving the product range due for release in 2015 to 2016 to coincide with the new Batman/Superman film. And inserting a new range in 2015. Giggity Quote
