Hrafnblod Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 For Agents of Shield they could easily do a small $20-$30 set. Coulson's flying car Lola, a classic red sports car Shield flying car. And maybe 3 figs? Coulson, Skye or May and a Centipede / Extremist soldier. (Or maybe Blizzard if we want to go comic book'ish?) Besides you have to figure AoS will have some sort of cameo in one of the upcoming movies? And evergreen just means that a theme has become a regular recurring theme with no scheduled or anticipated EOL for the core theme. Yes City and Star Wars are always on the shelf. But Castle and Pirates are also considered Evergreen. While I think Superheroes is closer to Star Wars than Castle in terms of production and scheduling, I don't think it means we will see a huge jump in the number of sets out at once. All it means is we don't need to be asking "is this theme done? Will we ever get more?" Like the poor inhabitants over in the LotR threads. We may see sub themes come and go. We may not see stuff every single wave. It may not always be Marvel or DC (Kinda curious how TMNT didn't get lumped in with SH?) but we will see more costumed super heroes for the forseable future. The problem with that AoS idea is, where's the part that makes kids say "Yeah, I want that!" compared to a spidey set, or Cap, or something else. Evidently kids like the characters they recognize and I'm not sure kids are a big part of AoS's fanbase. I'm not sure Pirates really count as 'evergreen' in any sense either. Lego certainly doesn't seem to see them as a core line of any sorts. Also I can see the argument for TMNT being part of Superheroes but it tends to focus entirely on DC and Marvel. It stands well enough alone as its own theme, especially since TMNT as a franchise, while comic-based, isn't really comic-centric anymore. People know Batman and Spider-man and such as characters that originated in comics but I think for the general public TMNT "started" with the '80s cartoon, even if it was a comic adaptation back then. Or, maybe they only wanted two subthemes of Superheroes. Quote
SMC Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 (edited) I do see TMNT as spin-off of superheroes, it could be seen as a sub theme Edited January 24, 2014 by SMC Quote
DarkKnight7 Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I actually really like the batboat in the Freeze set, and the Riddler Chase batmobile. I'm not a fan of the various aircraft, as much. And I don't do a lot of bat-vehicle MOCs. Agreed, I thought the new Batcopter from the Man Bat set was great as was the Batboat from the Freeze set! But, I'm kind of here or there about the Batmobile from the Riddler Chase set (but did like the Riddler Dragster). Quote
TheStrategist Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Anyone seen this new tv spot for the steamroller and the flash set? I hope this means the other 2 sets are coming soon to stores. Also, the best moment was when they called the batwing "powerful" haha. I honestly don't think that 4 flick fires are gonna take down one of the best vehicles the Joker has ever gotten in Lego. But I like how the batwing looks more in real life. Although it still looks dumb folding in to "crush" (?) the Joker, unlocking the wings out actually looks pretty cool imho. Quote
Aethersprite Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 It's more of a Spring wave. The US should be getting it soon, but I'm not sure about Singapore. I'm guessing mid-March for Singapore, and withing the next two weeks for the US. Some of it is showing up on Toys 'R' Us's website but only as "available in stores." I haven't seen any in person yet. I imagine we'll see it in the states mid-february, as far as actual widespread release goes. Maybe March, though, considering the pushbacks a lot of stuff has gotten here. No clue for Singapore, I dunno how ya'll's releases usually differ from ours. We usually get the sets within a month or so from the US release, so I'm guessing around March/April for us then. Thanks for the info! Quote
Gremer Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Do we know if there will be a Marvel promotional figure, like the Hulk and Jor-El? Quote

Suspsy Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I would much rather Lego give us characters and sets based on the comics than AOS. Quote
Marvelfan120 Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I would much rather Lego give us characters and sets based on the comics than AOS. agreed and I think that doing so would be a better move as I think kids read comics more than they watch AoS although I do like the show Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I personally like Arrow better ,theres just something about Agents of Shield I don't care for (the show , not the Characters). Quote
Hrafnblod Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I personally like Arrow better ,theres just something about Agents of Shield I don't care for (the show , not the Characters). +1. Arrow is a much better show in general. Better serialized drama, less formulaic "NCIS but with more fantasy." Quote

If there's a Hot Toys Agent Coulson, maybe he'll sneak into a Marvel set, maybe for Avengers 2? Quote
Marvelfan120 Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I like AoS but I have to agree Arrow is a much better show Quote
Tobias_Jay Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 For all the Aussies, my local Big W had all 4 Batman sets in stock. So they are around in Australia. Quote
coolcab1 Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I hate Arrow it is soooooo boring Agents of Shield is 100 times better. Quote
legofreak86 Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 (edited) I don't want to got to far into this as this belongs in the multimedia topic. I prefer the darkness and unpredictability and really fleshed out stories of arrow to agents of shield's more formulaic linear approach. Then again I like both. It'll be good when they finally return to UK screens. However I respect your opinion. Edited January 25, 2014 by legofreak86 Quote
Samiens Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Oddly on the Arrow v AoS debate, I watched an episode of AoS, thought it was ok and then watched Arrow which was so much better I basically couldn't carry on watching AoS. If they gave us a single Arrow set (maybe a D2C as it would be more AFOL focussed due to the adult nature of the show) I would be so chuffed, we could get Arrow, Dark Archer and maybe a couple of others with no new moulds needed. Well they just needa do the minifigures from the show, the set could be soemthing random as they usually do. Also Deathstoke would be much cooler than the dark archer... Quote
Samiens Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 That's true, although from a selfish point of view no one has yet made a high quality custom of dark archer... (sitting on my shelf, i appreciate its not based on 'the deathstroke' but close enough) I was still thinking season one- but a high quality print of season 2 deathstroke (maybe with a helmet and a face- I don't see either happening anyway!) would be amazing! Plus I'd pick up a bunch of Dark Archers for league if assasins members... Quote
Rinzler Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Since the Marvel sets are up on the TRU America website and nobody has seen them in stores, has anybody thought to order them from the website yet!? Quote
Bricktimus Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Im a massive fan of both Arrow and AoS. I think that Lego sets based on these would be great. Maybe an 'Arrow-Cave' and a Coulson with Lola would be a start. Also I got the batman vs riddler set this weekend. Its great fun and an original build. Quote

CorneliusMurdock Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Luckily we don't have to choose between the two shows. But let's remain on topic. I think we're unlikely to see sets based on either but I do hope that both shows serve to increase the popularity of their characters enough that we may see Green Arrow or Coulson at some point in the future in regular sets. I certainly wouldn't mind having either of them in minifigure form. Quote
Rinzler Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 As they're not available to order online. They're just listed as being in stores. Dude, I didn't know. I'm in the UK remember Also, Arrow is better but i enjoy AoS and I would indefinately love to see sets from both shows Quote
just2good Posted January 25, 2014 Author Posted January 25, 2014 Dude, I didn't know. I'm in the UK remember I didn't mean to offend you. No hard feelings. You should edit your profile so you add your country below your member number. AoS seems pretty popular among children too, so I think it's plausible to see one set based off of it soon. I just hope Coulson isn't released exclusively as a SDCC promo. Quote
