Freddy Bricker Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I don't know if anyone has talked about this yet, but what's the mystery set for March. I'm guessing an exclusive set for superheroes Well it's been discussed briefly, some assuming it would be the sea cow, others believing it'd be a new SH set. However, the Sea Cow has proven to be a February exclusive, so right about now, I'm crossing my fingers for a new DC set, but the March calender shows a new variant for Batman, so right about now, I'm hoping that if and when we find out where this new Batman variant is from, it comes in a good set. Honestly, if there is an exclusive, I doubt it'd be for Marvel, since they're getting 9 sets this year as it is, and DC is only getting 4 (system wise), so I'd expect a Lego store exclusive with Green Lantern, and *sigh* that new Batman variant seen on the March calender. The February exclusive is the Simpsons house. The March exclusive will be the Sea Cow, if that's the set that goes on sale Feb 17th. And the calendar doesn't suggest an early-access for VIP set on March 17th, so if we do get a SH D2C it almost definitely won't be in March, most likely in summer if it happens at all. Quote

Borex Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Does the marvel line also get an exclusive minifig when those sets become available? It's nice for DCfans they'll get Martian Manhunter. But now we, Marvelfans want an exclusive minifig too (one that we actually can purchase) Quote
Borex Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 (edited) Double post. Please mod remove it. Thanks Edited February 1, 2014 by Borex Quote
Batsy Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I hope we will get a Winter Soldier in April, this would fit with the release of the new Cap movie Quote

Ultron Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 They seem to be every other year. Last year was Jor-El, the year before was Hulk. Does that mean the next 2 years we'll get marvel exclusives to even it out? Because it went marvel, DC, and now another DC. Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Is there some sort of rule that Marvel and DC can't have exclusive figures in the same year (and no, I'm not being sarcastic, I'm actually curious to know) because I would love to own any exclusive Marvel figure, so long as it isn't a variant, they never get me hyped up (as exclusives, I love variants in sets). kevkipo Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I hope that in the GOTG sets we won't see a Rocket Raccoon minifig like in the Marvel game I want a figure like Gollum, just as tiny and cute, and good standing up Moveable arms with cool rockets :D If it is like in the game he will look too fat :P Quote

But now we, Marvelfans want an exclusive minifig too (one that we actually can purchase) If so I'd think it would be later in the year. They could do it to line up with the GotG sets or something, but it'll most likely be at least second half of year before they do another "with order of $75" promo figure (not counting the May the 4th SW one, since that's a given). lightningtiger Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Interesting to see Duplo SH.......I wonder what ever happen to that Batman Duplo Cuusoo project ? They are cute......I think Bat's will sell the most, next year if this takes off maybe more characters ? Hopefully in NY in a few weeks we'll see SH images.....fingers crossed. Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Wow, is that Catowoman in the DUPLO Batcave, she looks adorable! Quote
just2good Posted February 1, 2014 Author Posted February 1, 2014 (edited) My friend sent me this image of the ad in the 2014 USM sets. He bought the new Electro set off eBay. Also, he made a video review of the set here: Edited February 2, 2014 by just2good Quote
korpen4444 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I just want to say that I could care less about MARVEL getting an exclusive. DC rules! The thing is, what makes MM a better exclusive is the fact that we only have 10 DC heroes, where as MARVEL has at least 15 right now(not including the GOTG but including Cyclops and Storm). If we count SDCC exclusives, DC has 13 heroes and MARVEL has 17. Now who needs more exclusives? In other news, if LEGO decides to keep MARVEL in the lead with heroes, they might give us an X-men hero. But, only time will tell. Quote
Pumpkin Pie Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 0_o :wub:YES it's a good thing that im going to the US for March Break, cant wait to get all the new SH sets. Oh and is that black Beware The Batman version coming in a set anytime soon? Ya, it's already out in the riddler chase in the US. I hope thats helps you! Quote
TheBatstan Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Err I already have that set. That's the normal grey version. I meant the black variant which I posted a picture of a page back Quote

I meant the black variant which I posted a picture of a page back I still hope that if it does come in a set, we get Green Lantern in that set. Preferably a GL that looks nothing like the SDCC version, I personally hated that figure. Also realized that there is an abnormal lack of talk about this new Batman figure, did no one notice that a new variant for Batman was posted on the March calender? Quote

Also realized that there is an abnormal lack of talk about this new Batman figure, did no one notice that a new variant for Batman was posted on the March calender? It's been mentioned several times. But we don't really know anything other than that he's on the calendar. No real solid indication of any more DC sets on the horizon before 2015, and the only other thing Batman is coming in besides the Steamroller and Penguin Face-off is a Lego movie set that, going by the Nuremberg footage I saw, is just the standard black suit with yellow bat symbol. So, we noticed it, we just don't know if it's even gonna be a thing, or if it's just a mockup or what. I just want to say that I could care less about MARVEL getting an exclusive. DC rules! In other news, if LEGO decides to keep MARVEL in the lead with heroes, they might give us an X-men hero. But, only time will tell. I agree. I'm at the point where I collect DC and Marvel about equally but since DC focuses so much on one particular character I'm glad to see new DC characters however we can (except SDCC exclusives, screw those). Marvel will be waaaay out in the lead when the GotG sets come out, that'll be (at least) 5 more heroes. I can't say I'm not psyched though. GotG in Lego (and movie!) form is a dream come true. Quote

I'm just not convinced it will come in a set. It seems odd to make two variants of the same suit in the same year. If they are going to do a new print, I think they would at least make it a different costume. Unless it's a SDCC exclusive, I don't think that we will see it released. Quote

Colossus Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I have a gut feeling that LEGO has something (relatively) big planned for GL. With the exception of Green Arrow, all of the classic JLA'ers have been released. Now, to skip GL and give out a B-Lister like The Manhunter as a promo has me thinking LEGO has special plans for him. Maybe a 3-in-1 set with Sinestro and trans-green and yellow pieces? That would be really interesting. Quote

I wouldn't say MM's a B-Lister, he's an original member of the League, so. A 3-in-1 set sounds very unlikely, seeing as only Supes and Bats get their own sets. Maybe a set with Supes and GL could fly, then SM and Captain Marvel, then Bats and GA. Quote
gedren_y Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Cap, Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Hulk, Falcon, War Machine, Spider-Man, Luke Cage (Power Man), Wolverine, Nova, Iron Fist, and Storm have been Avengers, not counting SDCC stuff, although for some reason nowadays they count Venom as an Avenger. Pretty much everyone and anyone has been an Avenger. MM looks great, wish it was a Marvel fig but I'm pleased to see the JLA expand. That's now Aquaman, Superman, Batman, Flash, Wonder Woman and MM, plus GA and GL exclusives. If you're counting exclusives, then you should add Spiderwoman to the Avengers list we have. Venom, along with Ares, Daken (Wolverine's son), Bullseye, Sentry and Norman Osborn were the Avengers during Dark Reign. Daken wore a darker, sleeveless variant of Wolverine's Alpha Flight costume, Bullseye wore the classic purple Hawkeye costume, Venom was pretending to be black suit Spider-man, and Norman Osborn wore the Iron Patriot variant of the Iron Man armor. Sentry and Ares were their usual look. They also had someone in the Ms. Marvel costume, but I forget who she was. Where was Green Arrow an exclusive? Also, don't forget the Captain Marvel exclusive. Check out the custom Hawkman minifigs on eBay US and they will give you an idea. A couple look pretty well done, but not for $40-50 USD. Word. No chains, no 1970's disco collar, no steel tiara and afro, then forget it! I understand this a kids toyline, but throw us AFOL's a bone every once in awhile. They may do Hawkman with the eagle Chima mask, but Hawkgirl's mask was flatter and wider. Also, in some storylines she is dead, or awaiting reincarnation. Michael Shanks was a particularly wonderful Hawkman on Smallville. I have a Cage #1 that I still leaf through, but I prefer his later Avengers look. In one of the Avengers comics he laughs at his old look. Quote
