Kerberos Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 (edited) For the 12 Avengers thing I was counting -Hulk -Cap -Widow -Iron Man -Spidey -Nova -Hawkeye -Wolverine -Thor -Iron Fist -Venom -War Machine/Iron Patriot (Rhodey does use the Patriot armor in the comics now) The symbiote can take whatever form Flash wants including the more classic Venom look so I consider him an acceptable stand-in. They also had someone in the Ms. Marvel costume, but I forget who she was. Think that was Moonstone. Edit* Here's the 50th anniversary Avengers poster (which is 6ft wide) http://i416.photobuc...da.jpg~original I don't know why you guys would want to make up weird rules to limit who's considered an Avenger. Once an Avenger always an Avenger; that's how it is in the comics. Especially the current run and the new Avengers World where they view the team as ever-shifting to address specific threats and they'll call on whoever they feel is best suited to the task at hand. Freddy Bricker Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 They also had someone in the Ms. Marvel costume, but I forget who she was. I believe you may be talking about the one character who really pulled me in, Kamala Khan! Though it's possible she didn't exist when the comic you're talking about was made, she's fairly new after all. Where was Green Arrow an exclusive? Also, don't forget the Captain Marvel exclusive. Green Arrow, along with Black suit Superman, were 2013's San Diego Comic Con exclusives for DC. Quote
TheSpritePlate Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 What if they made a set with Batman and Cyborg flying the Javelin 7, fighting with Green Lantern against Sinestro and another Justice League villain? Quote
korpen4444 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 What if they made a set with Batman and Cyborg flying the Javelin 7, fighting with Green Lantern against Sinestro and another Justice League villain? YES! And the villain could be Brainiac! Quote
Kerberos Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 IIRC, Powerman, as Luke Cage, was an Avenger before Spider-man officially joined the team. but was less active in the Avengers comic. The version we got is from the USM cartoon which makes him what, a junior member of the Ultimates? I don't even get the cartoon here, and I'm disappointed with what they did with his character. The fig being based on the cartoon only makes me want him for parts. This Martian Manhunter fig as a freebie w/ $75 purchase is a want not because I'm into DC in any way, but for GOH. In New Avengers, Cage was the leader of an Avengers team for a couple years starting around 2007 after Cap was assassinated. I still think the best use of the Power Man minifig is as Victor Alvarez the newer Power Man in the comics The fig has black pants, whoever took the pic switched them by mistake. This is where the design for the cartoon costume was derived from and it seems a much better fit (unless someone actually enjoys the cartoon or is more familiar with that version of the Marvel universe). Victor's an Avenger now too; he's part of the new team Luke's leading. Quote
gedren_y Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 (edited) Which Nova is the fig we have? I know it's the Nova from the USM cartoon, but who is it under the mask? Is it the human Richard Rider, the Xandarian Rhomann Dev, the Shi'ar Malik Tarcel, or did someone else get the Nova Corps powers? In the prime Marvel universe, Richard Rider was the only Nova to be an Avenger, and that was only as part of the Secret Avengers. Steve Rogers wore the Nova helmet for a short time in that storyline. As soon as the AIM set comes out, we can add Taskmaster to the Avengers list, as he headed up the Fifty State Initiative during Dark Reign. Edited February 2, 2014 by gedren_y Quote

Kerberos Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Yeah, the fig is supposed to be Sam. He's a close enough stand-in for Richie's old costume from before Annihilation though. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 So Aquaman, Green Arrow, Nightwing, Batgirl, Damian Wayne, and now Martain Manhunter. I have a safe bet Green Lantern, i believe the instgram of the Lego employee, will be his New 52 design. Legi probably had a couple of Green Lantern sets in the pipeline before the movie failed. The ultrabuild kinda proves this. Probably had a sey with Lantern vs Sinestro. Quote
Lego-Dark-Knight0518 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I hope we get a Superheroes Collectable Minifigures Series in the future. I mean, The LEGO Movie got one. The Simpsons. Why not Superheroes? EDIT: Is it becuase they are licensed (flesh-colored) figures? Not "yellow-skin-toned"? Quote

I dunno if I'd say they had sets "In the pipeline." Also it's probably safe to bet on New 52 designs for everything not tied to a movie or a specific cartoon, considering New 52 is the current DC continuity. I'm still taking the instagram thing with a grain of salt though. I'm not convinced that guy works for Lego, or that he'd be allowed to dole out that sort of info if he was. I'm also not convinced they'd even have "next year" worked out just yet considering the news to push back the movie and its related sets just came through in the last few weeks. DJ Bricks Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Yeah, but movie ruined everything related to the character, the TV series and toy lines. The movie came out in June, they had a movie version of the charcter to prromote the sets and movie. They may have had some sets planned for the winter wave but decided to ditch them when the movie failed, but still had an ultrabuild of him that didnt sell well. Lego and most toy companies are told when a movie is delayed they can plan in advance but sometimes things happen like the Lone Ranger and TMNT movie. Quote

EDIT: Is it becuase they are licensed (flesh-colored) figures? Not "yellow-skin-toned"? No, the biggest hurdle was that the licensing would push the cost of the CMF to $3.99 and up until the Simpsons, Lego hasn't wanted to cross that barrier. There is also some concern that the company who makes the action figures might have exclusive rights to make them. This happened with star wars/Hasbro in the early 2000's and Lego was slapped with a cease and desist order. I heard that CMF sales have slowed and, while they're still solid sales numbers, that's why Lego is willing to finally explore licenced figs for the CMF line. Believe me, I'm hoping we'll see a DC or Marvel line of CMF in the next year or two. Quote

I think that the Simpsons and Movie minifigures won't sell as well because some of the people (like me) like to get all 16 if they are unique. Okay so they will sell one or two per young child but a lot of their money comes from people buying all sixteen where as I don't really like the movie minifigures so I'm going to wait till series 12 come back Quote
kevkipo Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 What do you guys think on the new Guardians of the Galaxy sets? Wanna hear your toughts Quote
Dr Leg O Brick Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 We know about a yellow ship, and a brick built Groot, but any other info would be great. Ever since 2012 I've been hoping for a CMF series, the amount of army builders you could have would be fantastic! I thought that the SDCC figs where from a scraped line? As for effecting sales? I don't see that as a problem, as long as you put a healthy dose of lesser known characters in, variants, army builders, Kree, Skrull, Brood, AIM, SHEILD, Hydra etc, and the odd well know character, variant of course like Spider-Man 2099, Doom 2099, or shell head Iron Man. I don't see it hampering sales, as long as they are different enough. Quote

Rinzler Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 An idea just hit me for a promo fig: NICHOLAS HAMMOND SPIDER-MAN Quote
montgocloud Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 How did you get that info? There were rumors circulating of a cancelled collectable series of Marvel figures. I'm not sure when it started but I remember seeing it around six months ago. But again, what info are we supposed to share our thoughts on in terms of the GOTG sets? Quote

Cammo Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Maybe that 'secret' set in March is a set with that new black Batman suit + the Green Lantern. Quote
