Hrafnblod Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I find all this talk about whether Rocket Racoon will be in the sets a bit silly. After all I can't see LEGO not capitalising on the most marketable character in the film. I also can't see why LEGO would exclude anyone from the team. After all we received all of the Avengers in the Avengers movie sets. The reason the figures we're stand ins and not final, may be down to how much secrecy is surrounding the film. On top of that these sets won't be released for another 5-6 months, so it's highly likely the complex mold required for Rocket isn't finished or been finalised yet. Yeah the speculation is kinda weird. It's more a matter of "what set will have which people" (which a few people have asked, granted). They aren't gonna give us 3 sets for the movie and not include the whole team. Quote
Legoman123 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I wasn't really sure where to post this so i'm posting it here. On Lego Cuusoo an X-Mansion has been created by the same person who put up Wayne Manor. It is truly amazing and needs support! DJ Bricks Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I have a feeling Drax will be in the Largest sets. And Rocket Raccoon. Will be with Groot, due to them being a pair. Quote
Zzz Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 (edited) Milano ship? That's the name of the thing. I don't think it's from Italy, though. It looks like a bulky shoulder wing plane that could land on the water, with a huge, imposing body, the wings end in differently angled smaller wings (which was done through Bionicle pieces, might not be final). It's going to be amazing in the movie. And also hopefully in the final Lego model. Still, it has a very special, curvy shape that is not too easy to make out of bricks to make a quick prelim model. A quick question, Zzz, did the Blackbird look anything like this: http://static4.wikia...126big-SR71.gif. Great to hear the collector is in these sets, is it possible the smaller ship belongs to the Nova corps? And another quick question to Zzz, was there an bald blue figure in any of the sets? It had shorter wings (which were also not swept forwards, I think). It was blue and not too big. (GotG=) The smallest ship was more bright than the other small ship coming with the Milano, and it had four yellow bars, that can fold out in all directions. It was dark blue / yellow. Was there a bold guy.... I couldn't say. Honestly, writing and thinking about this more, it could be that this is going to be awesome. What I saw was at an early stage. I have a feeling Drax will be in the Largest sets. And Rocket Raccoon. Will be with Groot, due to them being a pair. I am pretty sure the big ship comes with Starlord, Ronan and Gamora, as they were all there with the prelim model. Groot was close to the Lava playset. Knowing Lego, I believe we gotta "collect them all!" to get the core team. Edited February 3, 2014 by Zzz Quote
Rinzler Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Lava playset? are you sure your not confusing this with Star Trek Into Darkness Quote
wesker Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 The lava playset sounds interesting. The Superheroes theme could use some more locations instead of just vehicles all the time. Quote

Freddy Bricker Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Speaking of Lava, do you mean a volcano type set, or just some lava floating randomly? Much appreciated and hopefully we get Nebula, I'd just love to own my own Nebula figure. Quote

DJ Bricks Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Zzz what did the bad guy look like? I thonk the largest set is. Three heroes vs two bad guys, so i think Drax would ve in the set due ti Drax wanting revenge on the main villian Ronan. Nebula is probably the other bad guy in the set. The small set shoud be Star-Lord, a hero, and a bad guy. Quote

Hrafnblod Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Zzz, I think you might've bitten off more than you could chew giving all of us the only morsel of information we've seen on GotG from Nuremberg! Let's not grill him too much, guys. What he saw evidently wasn't final and the stand-in minifigs might not have been immediately identifiable if he didn't get a great look. Quote

Hrafnblod Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 This will never pass and everyone knows it, so why do people keep trying with these kinds of project? It is a total waste of time to put it on CUUSOO. Yeah, as cool as it is it's pretty clear they won't ever approve anything that big or elaborate, from what we've seen so far. Pretty much all of it's fallen in the same general price range. Quote
Colossus Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 It probably won't make it on CUUSOO, but should the project reach 10k, then maybe LEGO would see there's a demand for this set and cook up something. If they do so, I pray that it's more than a glorified facade like The Arkham Asylum, and more like the size and level of detail to match or surpass The Simpson's House. Quote
SMC Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Yeah I dont think putting it on cuusoo is a waste of time, sure it won't get made but it can help show Lego what we want and the Simpsons house does show what Lego can do and is willing to do so who know what we might see one day Quote
wesker Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I supported it but they really need to cut down on the parts and simplify the design more, especially the interior. I'm not really sure whats the point in including 40-something minifigures in the picture either if its not intended to be part of the concept. The holographic villains are a nice touch though. Quote
Colossus Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I get the impression from the creators that they never intend to have more than 8 or so minifigs in the set. The creators just included the 38+ X-Men in Minifigure form so that voters can make an informed decision about which characters they would want included in the set. I, for one, think that the Angel minifig looks totally amazeballs in his red duds, and those Chima wings look spectacular on him. In regards to the mansion, it looks like the creators left a lot of room for customization. The more detail the better for me. Quote
Dr Leg O Brick Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Hi, don't know if these images have been posted, but Hoth bricks have got some great pictures of Cap, Red Skull and the Hydra goon. They look fantastic, http://www.flickr.co...ks/11402759845/ http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 The only thing that would make those figures better would be if Cap had his wings. Otherwise they're all quite excellent prints. Looks like Cap's tan isn't as bad in regular blue either. And regular blue just looks right on him. Quote
HawkLord Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Wow, all three of those looks really good. I like how Cap has a smirk and Red Skull and Bob the Hydra lackey have frustrated angry faces... they're the ones with the tank and they're having a bad day... Quote
Legoman123 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 What is the release date of the Marvel sets? Quote
just2good Posted February 4, 2014 Author Posted February 4, 2014 What is the release date of the Marvel sets? March 1st from what I heard. Quote
legofreak86 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 (edited) I believe the poster said march for the avengers ones and april for Spiderman. There aren't any spoilers for films in them so I don't see why they don't just release all 5 of the spring wave together. I guess as Cap 2 comes out in march in the UK they want the avengers sets to coincide with that. Vice versa with Spidey and ASM 2 released April 18th in the UK same principle I'd reckon that the XMEN set will be out in may though as that is when the film comes out.Leaving GOTG for august. This also allows the 9 marvel sets to be spread through the year. Just2good: That would be great If all the spring sets were all released at once. I am looking forward to marvel movies and Lego the most out of this year. Well that and the hobbit. Edited February 4, 2014 by legofreak86 Quote
