Sam892 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I believe the poster said march for the avengers ones and april for Spiderman. There aren't any spoilers for films in them so I don't see why they don't just release all 5 of the spring wave together. I guess as Cap 2 comes out in march in the UK they want the avengers sets to coincide with that. Vice versa with Spidey and ASM 2 released April 18th in the UK same principle I'd reckon that the XMEN set will be out in may though as that is when the film comes out.Leaving GOTG for august. This also allows the 9 marvel sets to be spread through the year. Just2good: That would be great If all the spring sets were all released at once. I am looking forward to marvel movies and Lego the most out of this year. Well that and the hobbit. I'm guessing the reason there not releasing them all at once is to maintain interest in this theme all year round. The past two years it's really only been the start of the year that the sets have been released. Quote

Too bad they have no such interest on the DC side of things, spreading a whole bunch of system sets over the year. Quote
legofreak86 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I think there is a clear reason there are only 4 dc sets this year. There is no BIG film/media representation of DC this year. No films= no big waves. 2013 was the first DC wave to have 6 sets spread through 2013 due only to MOS. Had MOS not been released last year the only sets of DC would have been the three we got in the winter plus maybe another to round out the four. Hopefully we may get a surprise exclusive this year ala funhouse. Maybe with the black batman on the calendar and green lantern as rumour had it he was in a set this year. A set with that batman, green lantern and green arrow vs. 2 villains would be great at a funhouse price range £39.99. Unlikely but would be nice. Quote
Zzz Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Speaking of Lava, do you mean a volcano type set, or just some lava floating randomly? Much appreciated and hopefully we get Nebula, I'd just love to own my own Nebula figure. It was pretty small, not like the Agents base we got. It was just a platform and a small river of lava / ooze (whatever it was supposed to be). Wich one did it look like? The smallest one up left is also the smallest single spacecraft. I estimate it at $20. It looked very much like in the comic, but the Lego version is dark blue with yellow. The lowest picture seems an awful lot like the Milano, but think about the nose being shorter and the cockpit sitting more on top. And add more colors, blue and yellow. One big news, a colleague of mine confirmed to me that there will be 4 GotG sets. He was absolutely sure they told him at the Lego booth and I was not too sure, but I also heard something like this. What I saw was 3 sets, or I didn't understand the layout. As I said, it was pretty hectic and all models were prelims. It could be that the smallest set it simply in the $10 range, so it might have been 2 figures and something very small that I didn't identify as a standalone set. Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 It'd be great to have 4 sets, that leaves the door of possibility cracked just a little bit more, and raises hope for me that we may indeed see Nebula! I know she'll play a large role in the film, but now the chances of getting her are through the roof. Quote

rosalind14 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I'm sure the Movie minifigs will sell very well. However, I have reservations about the Simpsons. A lot of parents won't be wanting their children to be playing with characters from a show they're not allowed to watch . I'd leap into the air and punch the sky if Lego announced a Super Heroes CMF line. :) Would there really be legal obstacles to the latter though? You and me both. I just can't see why they wouldn't do it unless it's a legal thing. I don't think it would take money away from sets and there must be hundreds on different heroes and villains they could produce, in different variant costumes etc - some would never appear in sets anyway. You could easily do a Jamie Madrox (Multiple Man) and if you get him again....no problems!! Guido could be a big fig...!! There must be a demand for it, surely? Quote

Thanks for the heads-up :D Wow these ships are looking good! (they where just random founds :P) i wonder what they will look like in lego was the mini that small that it will be a $10? Lego does love Blue and Yellow :P Edited February 4, 2014 by kevkipo Quote

No way in hell they'd do a big-fig in a CMF line. Those things already bump the price of the sets they come in up quite a bit. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 @Zzz does your friend remember abything about the sets that you didn't. And plua the presenters at the fairs often dont know what they are talking about. They are people that are hires to show off the sets, and told vary basic stuff about them , was probably told that there were four Marvel sets and mistook it as four GotG sets. And probably we will get Nebula, she is the secondary antagonist. Quote

J_Bro83 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I think it'll be a long shot if we ever get anything but IF we get any news on a super hero CMF line, it'll be at SDCC. Even if we don't get any news on it, I'm hoping they'll have some kind of good reveal for us. Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 On the subject of big figs in the CMF line, wouldn't they bump the bag up and make it pretty obvious who's inside, anyways? Quote

It'll be at SDCC, and the whole line will only be given away through small raffles at the convention, make sure that most consumers never get to see them. On the subject of big figs in the CMF line, wouldn't they bump the bag up and make it pretty obvious who's inside, anyways? It would, of course. But that's not even the most obvious reason we'd never see that happen. Quote
kevkipo Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Still waiting for Rocket Raccoon! What if... No Kevin you don't say it! But what if! No i don't want to hear it! What if theres no Rocket Raccoon in any of the sets! Ahhh i hate you! Quote

We haven't seen any of the GotG figs yet, likely 'cause they aren't done. Several will probably need new molds and all will need new printing and the sets are still months away, yet. Quote

Reminds me of when people were panicking about the possibility of not getting a complete Fellowship of the Ring. Guess what? We got them, not just them but also all of the thirteen dwarves. People just need to be patient and remain calm. Quote

I asked my colleague about if he saw the Raccoon and he said he didn't. Besides that I had a much better look at the stuff than he did. We also got the info that GotG will be mainline in Germany, what kind of surprised me, as I figured this would be an exclusive, like the Avengers sets were. Quote

Numbuh1Nerd Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 On the subject of big figs in the CMF line, wouldn't they bump the bag up and make it pretty obvious who's inside, anyways? Y'know how you can buy those "Collector's Boxes" of Pokemon Cards that always come with a really rare one that you see on the front of the box along with a bunch of individual packs? Maybe we could see something like that. A box set about$20-$30 with a few individual figs and one big fig. I'd buy that. Quote

Except it would remove the whole point of CMF's, meaning they wouldn't be blind bags. Let's say LEGO made a SH CMF series that included Wolverine, Spider-man, Nova, Iron Fist, Iron Man, Black Widow, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Loki plus one Big Fig like Hulk. Everyone is going to know which the Big Fig is, because the Big fig is fricking huge compared to mini figs. They'll be one huge packet surrounded by normal ones in the box. It would also make it harder to get that figure, because people know it's the big fig and grab it when they see it. The point of CMFs is that each character is random, and although there isn't a equal percentage of each figure you could get any figure as you don't know. A single special Big Fig would be a terrible idea. Everyone knows it's the big fig, no one will be able to get one due to everyone graving the only huge packet in the box, which in turn raises it's price on the secondary market. It's basically like the SDCC exclusives, no one can get them and they would be expensive on the secondary market ( all be it not as expensive as the SDCC's) Edited February 5, 2014 by Sam892 Quote

I can't see how that would work with a CMF series with one big fig. That's not to mention how much it would raise the price of that series. Here, I think you misunderstand him. Having bought pokemon cards when I was younger payed off! In these box sets he's referring to (they're called "tins" I believe) you get one rare/special card advertised on the outside and then on the inside of the tin you get a few random booster backs that you can't see until you open the tin. I think what he's trying to say is that Lego could do something like this where one special minifig is made aware to the buyer that you would be able to see through the window in the tin. This could be the bigfig. And then on the inside of the tin would be 5 or 6 individually wrapped SH CMF's that are completely random. I'm not the greatest at explaining things so sorry if I made you more confused Quote
Robianco Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 That just seems way too complicated. We're talking about the possibility of a SH CMF line... There will have been 12 or 13 successful series before an SH one so they won't change the format and we won't get bigfigs. It would be amazing if we got the line at all. Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Agreed, if we get the line great, if we don't, then let's hope the designers pull the sets off. Pricing, notability in blind packs, and 'waste' of new molds would all be problems if we had big figs in a CMF line. I don't think there's any way around it, not even the best debater could make sense out of Lego spending larger amounts of money on both big figs and new bags (I'm sure big fig's would rip the current size of bags we have) and if anything, we'd get a re-coloring of a big fig, not a new character altogether. I don't even think it would make sense, even in a hypothetical world. Quote
Disco_Jedi Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 On the subject of big figs in the CMF line, wouldn't they bump the bag up and make it pretty obvious who's inside, anyways? Not unless the whole CMF series were all big figs...... can we come up with 16? Quote
