korpen4444 Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 On regards to the SDCC exclusive's, don't get your hopes up to seeing them in sets. Every SDCC 2011 Lego minifigure from the Superheroes line, was regarded as a "preview" figure. This means that it is previewing a minifigure to come in a set later on in the theme. Nolan Batman was a preview of the finalized version that we got in 2013, and Superman came out exactly as he did in at the Con. Azog wasn't an exclusive at all, he was not given any wording to say exclusive, he wasn't given by raffle, and to top it all off, he introduced a new mold. However, in 2012, Phoenix, Black suit Spiderman, Bizzaro, and Shazam were all raffled away as exclusives. In 2013, Amazing Spiderman 2 variant Spiderman, Spiderwoman, Black suit Superman and Green Arrow were all also given away as exclusives through raffles. These minifigures will remain exclusive to the Con and I have no idea why people use Azog as a light of hope for future exclusive minifigures, he was not regarded as exclusive and just because a minifigure was given at SDCC, does not mean they are exclusive. However I believe it's still possible that the raffle minifigures (the only real exclusive minifigures of the con) can appear later in different variants, Black suit Superman and Spiderman will more than likely remain exclusive, and now a New 52 variant of Green Arrow and Shazam are our only hopes of seeing them in sets. To be correct, Azog WAS exclusive, and people thought he would stay that way. Then the 2013 Hobbit sets happened. Plus that, I only got into DC Super Heroes because(A) I'm into DC a lot now, and (B) to collect the Justice League. Now in shows like Young Justice, and Justice League Unlimited, Green Arrow and Shazam are major members of the League. Now I can't have a complete Justice League, because Lego thought it be fun to keep Shazam and Arrow out of the majority's hands. And no I'm not forking out $400-$1000 just to have these two. I think Lego should stop these. Next thing you know, the Teen Titans will all be exclusive. Then Young Justice! Then my DC Heroes will forever and always be incomplete. Let's hope Azog will set the example for SDCC exclusives, because they make no damn sense. Imagine a Marvel Big Fig CMF series! Then someone joined them and put it on youtube. Marvel said the teaser was thrown together after just 12 days of shooting and they didn't intend to release it outside of comicon because it gives the false impression that the entire movie takes place inside the Nova prison (as that was the only footage they had shot). I could swear I read a blurb somewhere from somewhat at Marvel that said in the movie; there's a scene where cap steals his more classic costume back from a Smithsonian exhibit. Maybe after he becomes disillusioned with what S.H.I.E.L.D.'s become. That would probably be why we see him wear both in the trailer. If that's the case I wouldn't expect to see that costume again. Whedon said he's adding SW and QS because all of the avengers now pretty much all have punchy powers while SW & QS's powers are visually appealing. If he had added BP instead of them it wouldn't have really added anything new to the mix. Just another punchy person. Not that I don't want him it's just not his time yet. Quote

Yeah I'm just speaking from the perspective of a non-X-men fan, in general, who has zero interest whatsoever in QS and SW. Plus I think they're a better addition to the X-men franchise than the Avengers. I can't complain either way though, with GotG and Ant Man and almost definitely Dr. Strange in the pipeline at this point. Quote

Captain America 2 and ASM2 were side-lined set wise in the name of two spin off animated shows truly pale in comparison. If the new figures weren't good in the new sets based on a sluggish and uninspiring alternative to both the films and the other previous marvel shows then I would have dubbed this year a waste of potential. Marvel made a huge mistake last year they made sets for the wrong film and poor sets to top It off. Thor 2 had so much more set potential than iron man 3. TDW had many locations, vehicles and characters that would have made sets that would fly off the shelves. They have let us down over movie representation in Lego form apart from the 2012 avengers line I am disappointed to say.If they mess up the avengers 2 sets then they will have as good as buried the marvel moves line. Ultron probably won't create him until at least halfway through the movie. Unless it's iron man that creates vision and shield that makes ultron or something dumb like that. But there wouldn't be very much time for a romance to start and it would be very forced especially when both characters are still being introduced at the same time. I would expect it in avengers 3. Plus don't forget vision was made to kill the avengers so he should be a villain for a majority of his screen time. Quote

I am almost positive that that was just a rumor. It seems like it would make sense in THEORY but this movie is already overloaded with characters (Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Nick Fury, Scarlett Witch, Quicksilver, Ultron, that other villain whose name I can't remember, as well as a possible Agent Coulson, Agent Hill, Falcon, and now Vision) It's getting too crowded to start introducing characters like that now. We still have Ant-Man, Black Panther, Wasp, Doc Strange, and many potential others to include in the Avengers 3. He might be set up in this story, but I doubt he'll be featured as an actual hero as opposed to an easter egg. HOWEVER a Vision minifig would be super cool. Not quite as high on my list as the other guys we'll be seeing (cough*ANT-MAN*cough) Quote

I think Ant-Man and Dr. Strange are less likely to be skipped over simply on account of being newer properties for film. TDW and TWS are both sequels whose main heroes have been covered (and fit neatly into the Avengers Assemble sets, it's no coincidence in my mind that one of those has Cap and the other has Thor). I expect we'll see at least one set for Ant-Man and one for Dr. Strange. Hopefully the movie has them wearing semi-traditional costumes, I'd rather get comic-based looks for them than movie-based, which is why I'm actually glad we got Falcon based on the cartoon as opposed to Hawkeye's movie looks. Marvel is making a point of ordering the leaked footage taken down almost everywhere it pops up. Give it a month or two, once TWS comes out we'll get a proper trailer. Quote

I don't have a problem with the lack of Captain America 2 sets. Aside from a SHIELD Helicarrier there really isn't anything in the movie that we haven't already gotten from The Avengers sets. Do we really need remakes so soon? Its either that or random junk not even in the movie like Trevor Slattery's Flamethrower Golf Cart of Doom. Besides the only notable character we're missing is the Winter Soldier. Hopefully he'll still show up as a promotional S@H figure like Martian Manhunter. Thor TDW on the otherhand was definitely a missed opportunity since there's so much they could've done with Asgard and the Dark Elves. Waste of an opportunity is what it is. One advantage with sets based on the cartoons is that it does give us a lot of comic characters and variants that we would otherwise be waiting a very long time for, as well as characters we might have missed from previous movies such as Red Skull.
