There's no 'beating anybody to the punch' when it comes to set reviews. There's no winning the internet. Lots of reviewers post reviews of a set; we even have many cases of multiple reviews of the same set on EB. It's nice to be able to see the set of course, but I'd just shy away from language that indicates somebody else 'got there first' when it comes to set reviews.

Well it's great to know there's suspension on that Hydra tank. I wasn't sure from the pictures, but I think it make the tank so much better. Granted I wish it was more tank like but whatever.

Looks like the twenty dollar price point continues to be the gold standard for the Super Heroes Theme.

I think Lego is smart to keep pushing that market. It's inexpensive enough that those sets aren't relegated to "birthday and Christmas" for a lot of kids, It's practically an impulse set for AFOLs (at least I would say so, I have a fairly tight budget but can still grab these fairly easily when they come out). The general design seems to be vehicle + possible small vehicle + 3 figs, which comes out to fairly good playability for the kids and good for character dispersion for kids and AFOLs alike since a lot of these sets have at least one "new" figure, like Lois Lane, Nightwing/Man Bat, Red Skull/Hydra troop, Wonder Woman (in fairness, all three of those figs with Lex's Power Armor), Venom/Nick Fury, etc. $20 is a great price point for them to work with, IMO. It certainly seems to be working well!

Just saw the new Guardians set! Looks like a neat build, I'll have to pick that one up! Star Lord is concerning, though, since it looks like his helmet/gas-mask/thingy is just printed on a black head. I'm beginning to think his hairpiece is a new mold, since it looks so different from the stuff we've seen before. Gamora looks to be a much brighter green than I expected. I'm hoping the cloaked guy (Ronan?) will be more detailed upon closer inspection. Who is supposed to be in the seat behind Gamora, though? Is that for Star Lord, or maybe Rocket Racoon or Drax is in this set, too?

@Numbuh1Nerd

Wait, did you see all of the set or the same image of half the set that everyone's been talking about? Looking at the image that we've seen, I don't see anyone in back of Gamora. You're right though, she is a lot lighter green than I thought she would be too.

So I got all the Marvel sets earlier today... Surprise! Plans didn't work the way I wanted them to, so I'll be having (hopefully) video reviews and pictures here of three sets up tonight. First up is my least favorite, the Spider-Helicopter!

This set is good for the figures, but the build is bland and very under detailed. I do like the Spider-Man "dropship" play feature- the middle cockpit is really just an open space, but there's a button you can push to send Spidey swinging down with his web sling.

Apologies for the poor photo quality on the minifigure photos, I was in a rush to take these photos and cannot retake them for the rest of the night.

More on my Flickr!

Oh...I just don't know where to begin with that set. Well I guess I can start by saying...no? Just no. I could marginally live with bad design with good figures...but I can't live with two bad things!

I really like the drop feature! GG looks better than I expected. Chrome is always nice. Powerman is not nearly as cool as he could've been. Should've had leg printing but at least we're getting him. MJ's alright. I don't really care for bystander figs. White tiger would've been better but at least MJ is new. Overall, not my favorite set from this upcoming wave. Although I'll get it, a spider-man suit variant would've sealed the deal. Thanks for the pics!

I'd be surprised if we got another of the Guardians in that set, tbh. There's two other sets to spread heroes between, I doubt we'd get 3 in what (as far as I know?) is the smallest of the three sets. Like some others here, I think Rocket Raccoon is undoubtedly gonna be in whatever set Groot is in.

Also man, I can't decide if I feel better or worse about that Spidey set. Goblin looks better than I thought he would (though still worse than a proper, classic Goblin of course). The chopper looks part-better, part-worse than the box made me think. The main body of it is nice, but the tail looks pretty stupid and under-built, and the lack of trap door in the back cockpit hatch is just pathetic. Needs -something- in there other than a tiny ledge for Spidey to stand on, should've made some kind of mechanism out of it.

I'm pretty sure this is the largest of the three sets.

Maybe I read the previous reports wrong. I heard something about a Milano ship, a lava playset and a "bigger ship." Though this one does look pretty big.

That'd be really nice! But seeing as the smallest set is supposed to be $20 I don't think this is that set :sadnew:

Yeah, might've been a misunderstanding on my part (or as to what the "milano" ship was). On the other hand, if this is the biggest set it should really probably have more figures than we can see (and more than 4, really).

I agree. They better be really detailed and unique figs!

76014 Spider-Trike vs. Electro. I don't like video reviews because I don't like my voice and never rehearsed this. Story goes that I went to Lego Store to see if the Millennium Falcon Micro set came in, and sure enough it was in stock, browsed the Super Heroes section and saw the new March, and then April Sets. Cheapest of the bunch is this set, my least favorite. I like Electro, but would rather prefer the green and yellow suit, and love the design we saw in the Lego Marvel game, but I get it, this version suits the Cartoon and maybe even the movie.

This build was super easy, the trike was simple and love the suspension like feel to it when pushed down, the Electro minifigure would had been better if it was all clear, but you can get a taste of it from seen the arm and the head's see through parts. Enough talk, look at the pics...

The Electro set is an easy buy since it's so cheap with such an awesome little minifig. The Goblin set, however, is a pass for me, I think. I'll pick up the Power Man and Mary Jane on eBay. The Ultimate Goblin it meh and I couldn't care less about another completely absurd Spider-vehicle.

Kind of a stretch to call it a "trike" with the front "wheel" that separated! Doesn't look too bad though. I'm not a big fan of the vehicle but my collection doesn't include any of the lightning pieces at all, so it's a no-brainer for those and Electro alone.

Exactly! The only things I find salvageable from the Spidey sets are the minifigs. Electro looks incredible! Not as Electro, of course, but it would make an AWESOME Iceman!

If those sets had the classic gg and electro i would buy them in an instant. Heck, i even would sleep on the sidewalk in front of the toystore to get it as quickly as possible.

Now, i couldnt care less. It stays a no-buy for me.

Funny how those things work. Its all about the figs.

Hey, as said before, you could always use Electro as Iceman. Come summer when the X-jet is released you could actually have a serviceable basic X-men team, that way. If 4 is enough to count as "serviceable."

....And just like that, I'm bummed we're only getting two new X-men this year, again.
