Ashnflash Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Being a fan of the Ultimate Spiderman show I love the figures but hate sets. Why does Spiderman need vehicles? The Avengers Assemble show is great and so are the new sets! I'm just glad we have more Marvel villains! Quote
korpen4444 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I just realized: The guard in the Doc Ock set has Bruce Wayne's face. Lego you clever B@st@rds! I wish he had the DC cop's face, since he has yet to appear in a cheap set. Doc Ock's set, and Cap's set are 'must buy's for me! Quote
SMC Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Not liking that big Spiderman set at all, so there is just a big hole in it not a trap door or anything, I do like the big fig but now I think the set is a miss for me Quote
Bricktimus Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 In other news, I found a pic of the GotG Milano on Marvelous News: http://marvelousnews.com/index.php?catid=252&itemid=17045 Looks pretty cool to me! Although I will wait for a less fuzzy pic before making me decision. Starlord, Ronan and Gamora look great! Quote
just2good Posted February 12, 2014 Author Posted February 12, 2014 (edited) Next up is the Hulk Lab Smash! This set is so fun to play with, and the figures are amazing. The build itself looks much better once you add stickers. The piece count is low for a $60 set, though. Edited February 12, 2014 by just2good Quote

Captain Nemo Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Next up is the Hulk Lab Smash! This set is so fun to play with, and the figures are amazing. The build itself looks much better once you add stickers. The piece count is low for a $60 set, though. Thanks for the video review of this set! It's the one Marvel set where I'm iffy on buying (Others I either now I will or won't). It does look much better after seeing more images and the video of the set. I do think it's very disapointing that they re-used Boromir's sheild--I too know nothing about Taskmaster, but I know that's not his sheild! Cannot wait for MODOCK though. Quote
SMC Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Thanks just2good after seeing the big fig Spiderman set I don't think I will get it but this look must buy. Quote
Disco_Jedi Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Is it me or does Modok need shorter legs? Quote
Sam892 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Is it me or does Modok need shorter legs? Yes and no, MODOK never really stands up so it will always look strange with him standing. I've only seen him sitting down, which unfortunately requires the standard legs. When the MODOK figure is sitting he looks alright. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 @Numbuh1Nerd Wait, did you see all of the set or the same image of half the set that everyone's been talking about? Looking at the image that we've seen, I don't see anyone in back of Gamora. You're right though, she is a lot lighter green than I thought she would be too. Someone who had seen it whose name I can't remember said that there would be another seat in the back a la Quinjet a few pages back. Plus it kinda looks like there's another seat there, too. Quote
Colossus Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Geez, Lego couldn't splurge on a $60 set by giving MODORK a brick built chair and a trans clear.2x2 round brick for hover effect? Time to head to the parts bin. Quote

Rinzler Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Just2Good - Nice find man And, am I the only one who actually likes the Goblin BigFig? Quote
Dr Leg O Brick Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Wow, really impressed, thanks for the great pics. That dropship feature is perfect, I plan on using it along with the trike, as previously stated in some posts back, for the Hellfire club, this swinging feature means I can get my Hellfire guards to land on a roof easily, and that AIM lab is stunning, really love the look of it, getting a classic Thor, Falcon and Taskmaster is great plus Hulk and MODOK, worth every penny. And "Iceman" looks great, great to see Lego foraying into trans arms. I eagerly await more pics... Quote
gedren_y Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I intend to get the Spider-man trike set for parts. I am particularly glad that the sticker is trans-clear, because I wanted to use it in an MOC on a different color. Quote
Rinzler Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 The dropship feature reminds me of the episode of The Amazing Spider-Man called the Deadly Dust, released in my neck of the woods as Spider-Man Strikes Back Quote
SMC Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 And, am I the only one who actually likes the Goblin BigFig? I like it but not the set Quote
Ultron Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Just2Good - Nice find man And, am I the only one who actually likes the Goblin BigFig? I like it, I would just prefer the original GG like almost everyone else here At least Hulk will have someone to fight. Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 That GotG set (from what we can see so far at least) looks very interesting. The ship looks like an interesting build and should fit in well with my current collection. I'm liking the look of Star-Lord, though I do wonder if his helmet is printed or a new piece. It's difficult to tell from what we have so far. Gamora looks relatively non-descript, but that's mainly because I don't care much for the character. The figure could still be interesting though. As for Ronan, while I do prefer his look in the video game so far, I'll be interested to see better quality images of his figure in this set, and also of how that looks in the film itself. It seems unusual to me, but I'll hold judgement for the moment. Better pictures should clarify everything. Until then, I can safely say that I am very satisfied with the outlook for the GotG sets. Hopefully the other 2 sets won't disappoint. Also, what do people reckon is the likely price for this set in the UK? Quote
Hrafnblod Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Welp, Hulk Lab Smash looks a -lot- better in the video review than the pictures. Thanks for putting the review together! Had to get this set anyway since I missed Hulk last time, gotta finish my Avengers, but after seeing the video I won't be groaning so much about the $60 tag. Quote
SMC Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 ^ this is a way I feel I missed the last Hulk too so this one was always going to get me thinking but I am very happy its better that the last Hulk set and the Hulk looks better too. Quote
eldiano Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 (edited) The only difference aside the two hulk's pants is that the purple hulk has thicker eye paint, make up lol. Anyone considered getting the Junior Spider man set? Easy spiderman and venom figs, and some great unique spiderman pieces that are not decaled!!! Also spiderman's legs have the red underwear and the traditional blue plants, I like it. Edited February 12, 2014 by eldiano Quote
Legoman123 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 (edited) I really do like the look of both the Avengers sets. Especially the Captain America one. Edited February 12, 2014 by Legoman123 Quote
