Suspsy Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Ugh. There really aren't any redeeming qualities about the Spider-Trike. Perhaps some of those parts will come in handy someday. As it stands, I'll get the set strictly for Electro. Quote
eldiano Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Didn't realize the new robin and batman design!!! I am so getting this set!! Plus honestly the batcave is not bad either! Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I kind of like the bank truck. It could use some modification but the parts look good. Definitely worth it for Doc Ock. It seems weird that the Lego Store would mark up the Hulk set. $50 is much more reasonable, but I still hope Amazon can discount it at some point (after my tax refund comes). Looking at Electro, it doesn't seem all that hard to see him as Iceman instead. I expected more electrical markings on him but I'm grateful that I may have another X-man even if that wasn't TLG's intent. Quote
eldiano Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 The only thing about the bank truck is that the wheels and the side fenders grind with each other, not fun to play with, it stalls when you try to push it. Quote
tormentalous Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 The Tumbler polybags were found at Target stores in the checkout aisles for $3.99 each. http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-dc-comics-super-heroes-the-batman-tumbler-30300-found-at-target/ Quote
Cammo Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Dang it J2G! I wasn't going to spend money on the Doc Ock but now I start doubting. But first of all I'll buy the DC ones as planned. These reviews are bad for me :P Quote
Ashnflash Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I love that Doc Ock back torso its amazing how different the back print detail makes! Quote
The-Daryl Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 The bad thing about so many of these new sets appearing early: Having to wait until March to get them direct instead of snapping a few up at Walmart or TRU for the Martian Manhunter fig :) Quote
Moon_Knight Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 If you want to get a first look at James Gunn's Guardian's of the Galaxy (finally), the first teaser trailer comes out on 18 Feb. Quote
larsyuipo Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 brickshop messed up the prize of the spider trike set 60 euros for a 17 euro set Quote
just2good Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 (edited) Next up is the Juniors Spider-Car! Overall, that car is SO cute! I like the printed pieces and the main Juniors frame- sure, they have VERY limited uses, but it's so fun to swoosh the car around. But, I really wish the set had some varied minifigures- the two we get both come in the $20 Spider-Cycle Chase set (sans the red hinge on the legs, which looks MUCH better). Still, the set will be a hit with younger kids for sure. Edited February 13, 2014 by just2good Quote
montgocloud Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I really like the bank truck set. It has a nice, clean look and is refreshingly neutral compared to the frequent good guy/bad guy vehicles. The AIM base is pretty good, though I'm a bit biased towards location-themed sets. It seems a bit thrown together. I'll be getting all of these sets since I'm a collector, and hopefully these sets will look better in the brick. Quote
Sam892 Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I also like the Bank truck, but I feel it needs smaller wheels. Apart from that it seems perfect. Quote
Drock Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I'm still not liking the use of transparent pieces on Electro. The "tabs" inside the head and arms just stick out like a sore thumb. Quote
GandalfofHoth Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Holy Kajoley, you've done a good job on those reviews! I'll definitely pick up the spider-trike so I can get my first Spiderman and IMO an awesome trans-blue Electro (I guess I'm kind of a sucker for translucent figures). Quote
Hrafnblod Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Holy Kajoley, you've done a good job on those reviews! I'll definitely pick up the spider-trike so I can get my first Spiderman and IMO an awesome trans-blue Electro (I guess I'm kind of a sucker for translucent figures). I envy those few of you who are actually excited to get Spider-man. I'm with you on Electro though, i think the trans effect is really cool even if you can see the "tabs" (do we have a formal term for these?) inside the arms/head. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I've made it a point to buy the Spidey vs. Electro set the second I see it on a store shelf. That Electro fig is just too cool, and my excitement for Amazing Spider-Man 2 has assured me that I will have fallen in love with Electro by the end of it. The Spider-copter is looking less likely, though. I love the figures, but the build is just too cheesy and expensive when I have a Batgirl and Damian Wayne to get. I'll definitely be picking up that Captain America set, too, once I can. The AIM lab is lower on the priority list, but it will happen. Now that the first half of the DC sets (or maybe now that I've gotten the first half of the DC sets), these next two feel so separate. It's like that present you get a few days after Christmas. It's cool and all, but it's not really the same and it feels tiny in comparison. It makes me want another DC wave around the time Marvel's X-Men and Guardians sets come out this year. Quote
bekindsorewind Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 The bank truck looks too slim and long, making it have a really awkward aesthetic. Even though it's only $20, I'd still get the Captain set over it. All exclusive and interesting minifigures, plus a vehicle with unique design and olive green color. Quote
just2good Posted February 14, 2014 Author Posted February 14, 2014 Holy Kajoley, you've done a good job on those reviews! Speaking of Captain America... here's the last one! I love the minifigures in this set! Sure, it would have been cool if Cap had some boot leg printing, and that the enemy minifigures weren't showing their teeth, but they still rock. The build itself is... weird. I like the play-feature with the wheels moving up and down and the rotating "canon", but the design itself is so awkward. I do like Cap's motorcycle, though! Quote
KingPixels Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 and that the enemy minifigures weren't showing their teeth It doesn't bug me so much with Red Skull since that's his iconic expression, but Hydra agents are almost always cool and collected. Quote
The-Daryl Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I saw the Juniors Batcave on a store shelf yesterday... It's $29.99 USD for 150 pieces!!!! Quote
just2good Posted February 14, 2014 Author Posted February 14, 2014 I saw the Juniors Batcave on a store shelf yesterday... It's $29.99 USD for 150 pieces!!!! It isn't totally bad. There's lots of big pieces in it that raise up the price. Don't believe I posted it here, but I reviewed that set last week. I really like it. Quote
Ashnflash Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I think I'll still get this set for the classic Robin and Batman. Also you can never have enough Jokers Quote
Captain Nemo Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Thanks for the reviews again just2good--you really live up to your name! I love the Captain America set, however I do think the tank thing looks a bit weird. Think I've talked about that before. Anyways, I also love the Juniors set (Even though the price is way, way up there for the amount you get). It has two new variants, a decent robin; I think his face is a bit weird; and an awesome new light blue Batman--it's very classic Batman looking, like 60's tv series! I cannot wait to make builds with him! The only thing I don't like is Joker, not so much because he's used yet again, but more because he's a missed opportunity--with a 60's looking Batman, I wished we would have gotten a 60's Joker! I want a pink suit Joker with a hidden mustache feature damit! Still I actually love that Juniors set, and since I don't have the original, and I hate the new one, that'll be my Batcave! Quote
Dadster Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 (edited) Looked on the TRU website and couldn't find any info... Whats this about a Martian Manhunter figure?? Never mind...read the above post wrong and checked on Ebay. Cool exclusive... Edited February 14, 2014 by Dadster Quote
