And once more, the first character design/ plot details come via the reveal of LEGO set Being both an AFOL and a movie fanatic is just great sometimes (and by sometimes I mean always ). The Milano ship really does look like an eagle, but I still like it Can't wait to see Groot and Rocket Raccoon, so far the film designs are really awesome

I'm pleasantly surprised at Star-Lord! He looks way better than I thought he looked in the original picture, however I do think the mask could have used some definition to it. Being completely flat doesn't do it that much justice.

Looking at the 'blood' on Ronan; it just occurred to me that aside from the hood Ronan's costume seems to be derived more from the Pursuers than the Accusers

I hope Gamora can get her signature sword, she has it in the movie, and they dont have her sword chz shes the pilot. I mean they gave Drax his two knives!?

If you look closely, you can see blood splatters on Ronan's torso. Epic, but isn't it a little hardcore for LEGO to do that?

I think that's just supposed to be paint rather than blood. It's all over his ship, too, and you'd need WAY more blood than you'd find in the average creature to put it on there so evenly! Either way, you can use you're imagination and... ;)

If Ronan does have blood splats on his suit, that would be freaking awesome, but it's not the first time lego has done this. They have already done it on their minifigure of galen marek, remember?

That set has me more pumped for Guardians than anything! Looks like the film will be VERY visually interesting. Plus, from the word above about them possibly winding up on the planet from Planet Hulk, it makes me anxious for the possibility of a Hulk movie with Mark Ruffalo. Star Lord looks super cool, and that torso could be used for some nice purist figures I believe. I'm really hoping that they make a similar hairpiece to what's sticking out on the top for Star Lord when he's not wearing the helmet. I think I'm going to be leaning more towards the helmetless version, though it does look good. I'm impressed by Ronan especially, since the other pictures made him look plain and black. This has nice detailing, new molds, a very interesting head print, plus a badass little ship. Gamora's hair will make for some nice use on other minifigures (LEGO Hot Topic? ), but Drax has me worried. He looks very pale. Much moreso than his film counterpart. Is this a case of bad printing/concept or has Drax not been eating?

From the description it is a Sakaaran Soldier, which is leading to some pretty awesome possibilities for this movie!

$30 seems a bit steep for that Juniors Batcave set-up, but it's so very Batman '66 that I'll probably cave (ugh... pun unintentional) and get it anyway.

Looks like I'll have to save my money for that GotG set, too... that looks amazing.

I'm impressed with the detailing on the minifigs, thank goodness now that there is no new city stuff (except trains) for the tiger to buy because this set is at the top of the list.

I also notice some new parts as well.......and is that blood over the cockpit hood of that smaller craft ?

Just realised this set is quite interesting minfigure significance wise as:

It is lee pace's second minifigure appearance as he plays Ronan in this and Thranduil in the hobbit both of which have minifigures based on pace's film characters.

It is also Chris Pratt's (star lord) second appearance in Lego as he voiced emmet In the Lego movie but this is the first figure of his physical appearance.

Also the first time Zoe Saldana who recently played Lieutenant Ohura in star trek into darkness, has been represented in Lego as she plays gamora in the film.

I wonder if Karen Gillan's von nebula will appear in any of the three sets as that would be the first Lego figure of her as well (despite the fact she has been made by CB as her now former doctor who companion Amy Pond.)

This. There's no way they'd make Drax anything but green. They probably did him in Sand Green which is why he looks a bit pale through the glass.

So the Milano is an incarnation of "Ship!" (I'm basing this off of Gamora and Drax both being in the cockpit)
