Tonight, that was just a teaser for the trailer tonight, I hate how the industry has moved towards this dirty tradition where trailers spoil the whole movie and there's a trailer for the trailer, for the movie... Back then you went to the movies and saw the trailer and that's it!!!

Whoa so I want to know where they get that design, That robin in the LED set is from the juniors set, What if the green lantern comes out that way?

It wasn't a trailer for the trailer, it was a teaser trailer. The full length trailer is 2:35, there's always a short trailer and a long one. It gets people excited and creates a buzz for the release of the full trailer.

Nah, it's pretty much a trailer for the trailer. The Super Bowl one's even told you when to see the actual trailer, which is pretty much a trailer's purpose.

Ha yes the old gif, to the teaser, to the trailer, to the sneak peak, to the pre-screening movie to THE Movie trick. I know it well.

Really like the GL design, and to those that suffer from the "Green Lantern non-ownership disorder" this is most welcome.

But Making a lantern of a GL is kinda redundant no??

I mean they are always lit up unless they need to recharge the battery, and what brand do we buy for these, double or Triple OA's?? Do we get our own power ring to charge it or is it sold separately, we need to know this kinda stuff.

PS: The instructions will say to recharge: point to power socket and say these words, in Brightest day... LOL

I think so. I've researched the company which made the LED light and it looks like they've made various lamps and flashlights based on LEGO Star Wars, DC, Chima, Ninjago, City, The LEGO Movie, and Friends. Basically, there are dozens of lights and each of them, aside from Green Lantern, is pretty spot-on to minifigures who have actually appeared. It would be really odd for them to make one character who wouldn't be available elsewhere, and I imagine that would infringe on some licensing deal. And if GL weren't coming this year, then the light probably wouldn't show-up until next year, or at least much later in this year. I think it's a pretty safe bet that GL will finally appear sometime this year, probably in an exclusive like the TMNT set.

That's what I was thinking, but I'm so glad there's some statistics to back that up! If the Ninja Turtles exclusive just got revealed today, when do you think we might see the proposed DC exclusive, whether it be on store shelves or in pictures?

Personally while I hope I'm wrong, I'm guessing the set has been delayed. LEGO have had to go and design a new load of DC sets for next year since Superman vs Batman has been delayed. It would be a lot easier and take a lot off pressure off if LEGO moved the green lantern set to 2015. That way they have one less DC set to rush through the design process.

They (DC) pretty much came out and said as much, that the changes in lineup of the movies had changed all the licensed plans (for everyone) that had been made. No surprise that Lego had to do some fancy footwork, but since they plan a couple of lines in advance there was at least a broad stroke prelim wave plan to account for that, I don't believe they don't have a little black book of the order they want to release the characters (and the marketing only affects which version of the costumes we get at a given time depending on popularity etc).

The sets themselves are a bit more problematic, unless they have something cooked up and waiting in the wings, there will either be a rushed up wave or a delay. I personally prefer that they delay 3 or 4 months and put out a well rounded product than a rush job.

Do we have someone who can ask the "Powers that Be(uild)" how the changes will affect the DC line?? Just to get an idea of what is happening in the backstages. PleAAAASE!

And I'll join in with those that said they want a Doc Fate, I want a mini helmet of Fate floating in my desk by 2015.

That "double or triple OA's" was pretty damn funny!

I heard lego had wave of green lantern for when the movie came out but didn't use it. They could have made this the new sets they need for 2015 this wave but slightly edit the figures and the builds to make it seem like it wasn't based off the movie. Just a guess though.

So seeing as Guardians of the Galaxy is slated for release on July 31st, would it be reasonable to expect the sets to be released in May or June? I'm extremely excited for both the movie and the sets, and plan on buying all of them as soon as they come out.

They're slated for a June 1 release, supposedly. Can't wait for the trailer!

The press release with the Milano reveal said June 1st. Might see them in May.

I don't see how the Superman/Batman movie getting delayed would really affect a GL set. Hal hasn't been announced to be in the movie. If they had a set ready to go with Hal Jordan, they might as well leave it to the original wave and design a new set to take it's place in the Superman/Batman wave.

Yeah, I think we'll definitely start seeing the GOTG sets appear mid-May. I'm not sure what to think of them yet myself. This is one franchise that I'm not familiar with so how much I like the movie (or the characters) may determine how I'll end up liking the sets. At this point, I know I'll want a Rocket Raccoon but the others, we'll have to see.

We're going off of the thought process that since LEGO has to push back the Batman/Superman sets, they have to fill that hole with whatever they can, i.e. Green Lantern. Truthfully, I think they'll come up with something new instead of pushing back what's already in the works.

Maybe in brightest day? I think it'll be a few months, because GL isn't on the back of the comics included in the DC sets with everyone else, but I have no idea when exactly. :sceptic:

There were a couple numbering gaps between sets in the first DC wave. :look: I don't think that GL will have his own set(s). He could carry them as well as Spider-Man, but retailers are afraid of Hal Jordan, which is probably why we are getting him so late. :hmpf_bad:

I dunno if you're into comics at all, but finding... sources (of questionable legality, admittedly) of the 2008 run of GotG isn't too hard. I don't actually know that you can purchase them anymore, but they're worth a read. It wasn't a terribly long run, but it's a lot of fun! Some of the characters aren't in the film, though, from the looks of things. Still worth a read if you're into comics, IMO. It's a favorite of mine, so needless to say I'm psyched about the whole movie and Lego adaptation going on.

No talking on the some characters killed it.

Not really. If they gave us everything in the first trailer, there's nothing to look forward to. After all, we still have almost six months until the movie comes out.

Ok, that was, I'm still processing...20 cycles to completion...10.9.8...Compiling

-What the HELL was that, that's not how the nova corps go about things.

Nice trick introducing the guardians criminal rap sheets to the audience so they know what they are dealing with.

Did they just say rocket was a LOWER life form?? Have they even met the racoon, lower life form my brick, he's an awesome life form (and a full head of hair too).

Groot is looking spot on (house plant and muscle - Funny!). --Now I really want Groot to be a BIG FIG (like the Harry potter troll) instead of brick built like we are getting.

Peter "the guy no one else calls star lord", I'll have to wait a few months to wrap my head around that one, he looks good, just not sure about the amount of douchebagginess, maybe it needs 10%extra.

Gamora, it's just the chick from star trek in green (maybe they forgot to color correct!!)

Now we know how nebula actually looks like, if the minifig is accurate to what we saw here, its going to make a nice villain.

And maybe those in the first shot are the Sakaran soldiers??

I'm getting a mixed spinal signal confusion after this trailer, half wants do dance, the other seems to be spasming out in pain.(that song, huh)

Ladies and gentlemen, you may want to get an extra pair of underwear:

Great! Let's get one for TMNT, now.

I just popped into Smyths Toys in Liverpool and picked up Hulk Lab Smash and Hydra Tank sets.

I called the Lego store as I prefer to get it there if it's full price but they don't have a date for them coming in so I went for Smyths.

Not had a chance to build yet but the figures are sublime.
