I found the image of the Milano Spaceship Rescue minifig line up. Its rather blurry, but you can discern a decent amount from it.

From what I can see, Quill's hair is new, as well as his guns. Actually, it kinda looks like everyone has new weapons except Ronan, although Drax's blades look like old molds. Overall I think Quill, Gamora and Ronan are the stand-out figs of the set, due to their new molds and weapons. Its a shame we didn't get better pics of the other sets from the fair as well.

The old knife molds should be perfect for Drax. In the comics he got his blades from looting a sporting goods store in Alaska.

That trailer felt a little too heavy on the jokes, really. That "What a bunch of a-holes" line kinda left a bad taste in my mouth. I watched it again today, and I'm still quite into it, but I'm less confident that it will be the success I want it to be. Also POSSIBLE SPOILER: Rumor has it that Nova could make an appearance. I'm aware the Nova Corps are featured, but the Nova from Ultimate Spider-Man's origin involves the death of a character that is very well alive in the movie. Maybe we might see a new Nova figure in the future.

Also, I'm a little disappointed that we didn't hear Rocket speak. I'm really curious as to how he'll sound. Seeing him in the flesh makes me a little hesitant about Bradley Cooper.

Don't worry about the humor. Gunn stated today the humor is not the focus of the movie: "We never wanted the humour to get in the way of the fun or the emotional heart of the film - those things came first." I'm not worried about it at all. As for Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Gunn said: "I suppose you would expect me to tell you he’s fantastic and his characterisation of Rocket will blow your mind – so don’t believe me and just wait to see (or hear) it for yourself. In all truth, we hired Bradley because he’s able to do both comedy and drama – it’s the thing I look for most in the actors on all my films – and to truly sell Rocket – for you to believe a Raccoon can talk (and blow up and shoot tons of stuff) we need a well-rounded actor." I trust Gunn. He seems to know what he's doing with these characters.

I wasn't aware of that. The basic knives would be perfect.

As far as new weapons go, I'm particularly interested in Gamora's sword. I have a feeling that it could be fantastic as a one handed Elf sword for LOTR characters.

Anyone in the Buckinghamshire area of the UK, I rang up my local Toys-UK today (they have about five branches I think) and they said they had the new sets, so I went down and got...well most of them. So I have full price lists. I got these from the Aylesbury branch, still had plenty.

1924704_10153843478095581_1505133229_n.jpg

Spider-Trike VS Electro - £12.99

Captain America VS Hydra - £19.99

Doc Ock Truck Heist - £19.99

Hulk Lab Smash - £49.99

The one that I didn't get was the Spider-Helicopter Rescue, and the reason being that it's £44.99. To our American friends (at current conversion) that's $75 for 299 pieces. Its also worth noting that they don't list the piece count on the boxes over here, so you don't realise you're paying £45 for under 300 pieces. I would have said that £30 would have been reasonable, expected £35, for it to have been £40 would have been severely over-priced but at £45 it's down right extortionate!

Looking forward to building these, but I've got to go to work now, and unfortunately this coincides with the arrival date of the video game I've most been looking forward to in a year! Anyway, there will be reviews and such on my channel if you want to follow. https://www.youtube....GOMARVELChannel

Now that the Marvel sets are in the UK, how long does anyone think it will take for them to come to Australia? I'm really anxious for Hulk. :excited:

That's insane! Those are the EXACT prices (numerically) as USD, but with the pound being stronger that makes zero sense >< Spider-copter is poorly priced here as well. Somewhere around .10/piece is a decent rule of thumb price. But it seems anything with a big fig gets jacked up.

Back on topic, built the Hydra Tank last night. LOVE the suspension. The overall design was very retro/period feeling. Out of all the sets I own I've only bought 3 at full retail Hulk Lab Smash, Hydra Tank, and my first out of dark ages set - MF Hearse and I'm pleased to report no buyers remorse :)

No it's $45 for us.

Well, I'm broke. By the end of march I'll have all sets and maybe Manhunter but have no money left, ah well.

wait wait wait! Martian Manhunter??? When? Where??

Blow 75 bucks on Lego stuff on Shop@Home or at The Lego Store in March and receive a free DC Superheroes Martian Manhunter Minifig. It's a really nicely done Minifig! But, like I need an excuse to spend $75 at The Store.

Isn't Gamora's sword just the Ninjago Katana?

Also new Star-Lord weapon mold FTW!

I doubt it. The blade looks too wide. It doesn't resemble any of LEGO's current swords, so my only guess is a new mold.

To me Gamora's sword just looks like this sword but it's just turned sideways in the pic. Does anyone else see it or is it just me?

I kinda see how you could get that from he image, but that sword is way too big and Orcish for Gamora. Her sword is far more sleek and sic-fi looking.

I know my LEGO pieces when I see them. She has a new sword.

Yeah it doesn't look anything like the sword from the trailer so I was unsure as to why they would give her that sword.

I think the Mutt hair is much more accurate than the Sleepyhead hair for Starlord.

And after taking a quick look at the Mutt fig next to that blurry image of Quill, it looks like the same piece. Kind of a shame that we don't get a new male hairpiece, but its also nice to see that hair in a new colour.

To me it still is the Katana from a different angle, i really doubt Lego would make a new mold for that!

They had to make a new mold for Star-Lords guns, but i don't think they really need to for Gamora

I mean where can they reuse that?!

Also the Shakaraan soldier, is he holding a new weapon too?

Maybe you are right about the sword! i do hope so

But then i also hope that we get some new weapon molds for The Hobbit :classic:

Also may i compliment you with your picture ;)

As PoP's daggers showing up in the Hobbit sets from time to time shows, you can always re-use weapon molds. Especially things like swords that show up in recurring themes like Castle or whathaveyou, provided it's not too futuristic. If it is, it can show up in things like Agents or future space themes. I can't tell well enough to say if I think Gamora's getting a new sword or not, just saying. New weapon molds are always reusable.

Except the Lone Ranger guns, for some reason, that they seem to've abandoned. I don't really get that- was surprised when the westernish Movie sets came with old revolvers.

Why thank you!

I'm not surprised by LEGO making new weapons for these sets. Star-Lord's guns will likely be reused in future sic-fi themes, and Gamora's sword may be a one-off kinda piece, or it could be repurposed in the future.

As for the Sakaaran gun, if you take a look at some of the pictures on the Brickipedia page for the Knowhere Escape set, you may notice that the gun (located at the top of the tower attached to the bigger turret) seems to have the same handle as the LEGO Movie SWAT rifles. The bigger blue and grey bit could be a new piece attached to the gun, which is kinda clever.

Yeah it could be that!

Time will tell :classic:

LEGO has made slim-use accessories for Licenses before. Look at the guns and armor/helmet pieces for Man of Steel. Not that I mind having a cool gun, but I don't think those were even necessary (I mean just the guns, the armor was necessary, but I don't think we'll see it again). They also made the new guns for Lone Ranger that they then did not use for the LEGO movie, so it's possible that we might not even see that mould used again in another theme (it was very un-LEGO-ish anyway).

I wouldn't be surprised if the GotG characters get new, special weapons that really suit them, even when an existing piece could be used.
